hrmm.. i put baby Louis into his bed about 8pm, due to his last nap wake up at 3:30pm. should i give him another nap so he can fall asleep at 9pm?

i also on the a/c all the way till early morning. i thought is becos i on it too long hours, luckily seems like i'm normal.

i put louis the long sleeve and long pants, and also the mothercare sleep beg, do u think too warm for him? my a/c is 27 degrees.

ya. i also didn't change his diaper till morning, i am using MP. hehehe... baby Louis like MP.

My schedule very similar to Sam's!


1. about 9
2. She sleeps with us for now, so we switch ac on all the way
3. 25 degrees, she wears a normal romper with grobag or other sleeping bag so no blanket.
4. Her last feed is at 9 or 9plus, if she falls asleep on the bottle or nursing, I do not burp her. If still awake, will burp her and put her down to bed. Stroking her hair while letting her suck her thumb while I hum twinkle twinkle little star is usually enough for her to fall asleep on her own.
5. about 4-5 times a day, I let the diaper last from 9pm till her morning feed around 7-930am. using MP

Her bedtime routine:

-Full body wipe down with warm towel and change to Pjs. sometimes sing twinkle twinkle
-diaper change
-milk feed

That's enough to last her the whole night

1. 10pm onwards, i started to tuck her into bed. She has the habit of sleeping right away i wiped her clean.
2. On air-con all the way until she awake
3. 26 or 27 degree & Baby dress in long sleeve, long pants & socks. Covered with blanket.
4. I burp my baby after every feed regardless wat time. But she dun wake up for feed in the midnight. sleep throughout.
5. I will put her on mamy poko before she zzzzz... unless she poo...if not i will change her in the morning b4 i go to work.. tats is 8am.

Wah, everyone's bb sleep so early?? Haha, my son is like night owl.. :p

1. 11.30 pm - 12.00 am (depending on what time mummy wants to sleep)
2. I on the air-cond the moment I m in the room till next morning.
3. 23 deg. He wears sleepsuit from Mothercare and I put on blanket for him from chest to waist. leg down is my comforter. Usually by wee hr of the morning, all will be gone cos he will pull them away.
4. No burping..after latching, i place him back to sleep.
5. Depends..by 4am if he wakes up and looks awake after his feeding i will change, else i will let him cont sleeping. No point waking him up and causing me to get disrupted sleep.

Maybe u wanna change an environment for Louis to see if he wakes up crying? Different room, diff bed, etc?

Olivia's last nap time is usually 430-6pm. However, regardless of nap time, she knows when bedtime is and will sleep without hassle once we start our routine.

She will sleep through the night and have 1 morning nap after her feed. In the afternoon, she will nap usually only once.

Maybe you can change the room temp to 25? I find that 27 degrees is a bit stuffy
 
mummy louis, ya..no sleeping bag, but aircon at 27..which is higher than most mummies..keke..got blanket..cannot long sleeves during this period..so hot..he will perspire v easier..there was once after bath, while i was dressing him up..he wriggled and after that..he was perspiring..keke. last feeding depends..sometimes abt 8.30pm and sometimes abt 10pm just before he dozed off.

Nap: yup..his last nap can be ard 7+ and wake up at 8+ just before i bring him back home from my parent's place..play for an hour before he depart for his "lalala" land
 
BTW, i forget to say.. my 27degree is like 25 degree.. cos we just install new aircon n its super cold... the aircon position just right above her...

Then same as Zach, till next morning.. Ashlynne will kick all the blanket away.. sometime even one of socks missing LOL...

Normally she wakes up at 8am for feed.. play till 10am.. bathe.. then nap again till 11.30am or 12pm for another feed... after another 2-3hrs.. she will nap again...4pm another feed..etc etc

My girl will always nap after 2-3hrs of waking up..
 
Tamms, Olivia only nap twice a day? Gerard need to nap abt 3-4 a day..he is quite piggy in that area..haha

Mine sleep @ 8.30 pm dnt wake up till 5am.
last feed before she sleeps 8ish , aircon 24, and on sleep suit. She loves the cold,
Lastly for my bb , if I cluster feed her 6,7,8ish, means feed on demand, it seems as if she is filling up her tank, if she feed well she does not wake up if she does not then she will wake up.

Some times even if I want to feed her , she shuts her little mouth tight.

Other than hot weather, if u still BF, u can see if u changed ur diet...

The questionaire is so fun, my answer below:
1. after her second last feed, mostly 8pm
2. Depends on weather. If we find stuffy, will on a/c. If not just have fan blowing in the room.
3. 25 degrees (she wears full body suit type of romper - keeps her warm no need blanket). If she only wear short sleeve top with long pants & socks, I will turn up temp to 27 degrees.
4. Her last feed is at 10 to 10plus or 3 hrs from her fifth feed (i.e. before 1am where we zzz). Usually she will be super drowsy but will manage a small burp.
5. If diaper at last feed not wet, will not change until morning 6.30am to 7am. Dun wanna wake her up. :p Me using MP with Pureen diaper cream!
 
Wow....everyone's baby sleep so late? Mine probably sleep too much!!!

1. Bedtime is between 8pm to 830pm
2. Aircon all the way
3. short sleeves, footed pants
4. no burping..cos i dun even know when she finish drinking...haha..i co-sleep with her and she latch on and help herself...
5. from 10/11pm to the next morning...

Routine for bedtime, pacifier in mouth, pat in my arms...and i will sing lullabies...

When it's bedtime, Emma can sleep anywhere...even in a crowded restaurant...

My only complaint is that she will still eh eh in the middle of the night for feeds...though she doesnt really wake up, she will latch on and feed with her eyes closed.

if Ashlynne sleeps at 8pm.. think she dun recognise me anymore.. cos usually when i go to work, she still asleep.. N reached home at 8pm plus...every days except weekend, i only have 2-3hrs of bonding time with her.

If she sleep at 8pm.. meaning she dun get to see me at all..I dun bear to let her sleep at 8pm.. haha..

ya she usually naps only twice, morning nap abt 2hrs, afternoon depends... can be 45min-1+hr... wow gerard naps so often! more time for you to get on with your own thing during the day!

She doesn't nap much during the day, maybe cos she sleeps soooo well during the night. she's very kind to me, her earliest wake up is 7am so I'm very lucky! she's spoilt us completely, I'm sure the next baby will be keeping me up all night!

her total hours of sleep is about 15+hours

jowin, now zach noes how to remove his mittens away. He will pull them out middle of the nite so that he can suck his fingers. All these while he is still sleeping. Babies are so cute.

You can google for this thing called '4 month sleep regression'. When my girl is now 5 months and in the last 4-6 weeks, she has had phases of unusual sleep behaviour. Normally, she wakes up about 2-3 times a night to BF. I will nurse her to sleep then wake up to change sides and we both fall back asleep. But in the last 4-6 weeks, she will have phases lasting 2-3 days where she will wake up many times or not fall back asleep after nursing.

From what I read, this is a phase for babies. Because they are growing and developing so much, their brains don't know how to 'switch off' and go to sleep. Hopefully your baby will pass through this phase soon. Now, at 5 months, my girl is back to her normal routine of waking 2-3 times a night.

yeah i think it's like a trap you know, the first baby so easy to care for...everything so easy going...then you think "hmm...not bad leh, can have a second one.." then the second one will turn out to be a terror!

kath, yeah she can locate my nipples in the dark....how i dunno....Zach is still wearing mittens? how come?

Jo, yeah I only have 1 hr to play with her every night, so I will spend the time with her before having my dinner after she's asleep...

No you should not give your baby fruit juice or any other fruits, etc till baby is at least 6 mths old and ready for solids (unless adviced by a PD to start early due to special conditions). You putting your baby at risks of allergies and health problems by starting early. Sorry to be abit harsh but if you and hubby are not keen (which is right), then make sure no one goes against your wishes.


Mommy Louis:
1. 8pm as 6 mths old babies need about 10-11 hrs of sleep at night.
2. Depends on weather. If on, it will be on till morning.
3. 24/25 degrees. Baby is wearing footed sleepsuit. Previously I let her wear 2 layers (ie. a thinner bodysuit inside the sleepsuit) but have since done away with it. No blanket.
4. No.
5. Change at 11pm before feed. Next change in the morning around 7 plus.
 
tara, i let him wear mitten at nite before he sleep cos my air cond is 23deg leh.. zach needs me to carry him then he will use his hand to cup my breast and put it in his mouth..haha.

Me n hb always say we will wait for a while before having a 2nd one cos zach is a terrorist!! Dont tink i hv the energy to handle another one soon.

1. near 8pm. after i take him back from IFC, i bathe him, feed him, he talk all he wants, then he zzz on his own.

2. no air-con, he is already in air-con in IFC, we don't want him to be in air-con after that. anyway, my house no air-con. he needs fan to blow directly at him.

3. i didn't swaddle him since he was 1 mth old... and i didn't give him any blanket for his cold legs, coz it usually ended somewhere else and not on his feet.

4. i still burp, but 70% of time he doesn't burp out, coz he already zzz...

5. depending... if he zzz through the nite, it will be 6hrs, so i usually use better diapers for night. during day time, it's abt 2.5 to 3 hrs.
 
tamms, i do agree w u and tara..my this one really easy to take care...and i can cfm the next one will be a nightmare for me...cos Gerard sleep thru after his 1st mth..

Olivia is so good to us, we're thinking of trying again this year end or next year! I'm going to enter the next pregnancy with 'worst case scenario' mentality, then hopefully won't be too frustrated if the baby turns out to be a real monster! It's easier to consider having another baby when the first one is manageable and well behaved.

my boy zz ard 10-11pm after last feed, till 8plus9am. he will nap ard 7plus8pm for half hr. 24degrees aircon. short or long sleeves top with footed pants. blanket only cover tummy area coz he will kick his pants down. Diaper from last feed till he wakes up, using Pampers.

i alr secretly telling myself i dun want a 2nd one liao cos i dunno how i can love 2nd one as much as i love zach..also age is catching up..

that's exactly what my sis was thinking too, and now her daughter is 1+ they're thinking of trying again. Don't worry, you know when #2 comes along, you'll love him just as much. Anyway, please lah, you're not old ok?

kath, how many hours is zach nap time? he sleep so late??!! baby Louis normally has 3 hours day time nap.

hi Echo, ya, baby Louis seems like dunno how to switch off and go to sleep, he will alway stare at me, once i look at him, he smile and put up his hand to ask to carry and play.

Remove mitten:
Baby Louis nowadays like to remove his mitten in front of me, show me his funny action, then when i stare at him, he will purposely throw his mitten away!!! hahaha...

Flip over:
Baby Louis this morning after his flip from back to tummy, then he continue flip from tummy to back!!! i am so amaze with his action! :D but, after this morning, he seems like very tire, and stop the flipping from tummy to back. i keep waiting his new action again..

my bb oso zzzs quite a bit. Aft the 6.30-7am feed, she goes back to zzz until next feed at maybe 9ish-10am. then stay awake for 2hrs, go zzz for 45mins. Feed at about 12 to 1pm, zzz for 2 hrs. Wake up at 2pm to 3pm. Aft that become no schedule liao, sometimes she sleeps sometimes she does not. But one thing is for sure - Mummy will force her to zzz after her 2nd last feed. :p

Tat was my hb's concern too. If we follow Gina Ford's schedule, both of us will nvr see Nicole awake except weekends!

yeah, actually i never thought that emma is so good, until several of my friends commented that she's such a good baby, hardly cries...

a japanese woman even came up to us one day and commented what a good baby we had....cos she's didnt fuss the least bit when we were having our dinner outside....

so before all these comments, i actually thought that all babies are like that one...dun really cry much....so i guess i am wrong lor...i cant imagine if the next one is a terror....

my gynae actually told me not to use any protection and let nature takes its own course...then i told him...cannot lah....later i so "lucky" and kenna soon how?? i think must wait until the first one start to walk first at least....cannot carry two babies at the same time...

i brought emma on the flights twice,... i usually let her latch on or she suck the pacifer during take-off/landing...there was once or twice when she already conked out sleeping before the flight took off...and no problem with the air-pressure for her...

My ger was orignially ok. But in recent days, she's became one hell of a terrorist. She never fails to make noise during me and my hb's dinner time.

Anyway, my personal take is I have had enough. :p 1 kiddo is good. I am a bad mum with little patience! :'(

emeraldbride, no la ... when u have another one, you'll be surprised that you find u can love both of your kids so much. I have 4 - although very hectic, still quite fun. And it's nice to see them playing together.

errrrr ... going to be mid-30s still young la. Look at Aunty Zoe Tay .. she had BOTH her boys so late in life. hahahahahaha!

3. 23 degree but feels like 25 degrees (think the filter needs to be cleaned liao) and our air con is not directly blowing at us. It's on the top left side of our bed. Baby dress in long/short sleeve (depending on the weather), long pants & socks or footed pants. Covered with her blanket and our comforter (we co-sleep). But she'll kick away the blanket and comforter. End up with her legs on top of our comforter. -_-"
4. I burp my baby after every feed regardless wat time. But she dun wake up for feed in the midnight. sleep throughout.
5. Every 3 hrs during daytime. I will put her on mamy poko before she sleeps till next day 6ish or 7ish.

Usually my gal she'll nap again for another 2 or 3 hrs after her morning feed at 6ish or 7ish. Then after her next feed, she'll sleep for abt 30 mins. The rest of the afternoon till 9pm is no fixed schedule. Sometimes she'll nap, sometimes she doesn't.

Kath - Me going to be mid-30s next yr. But i'm still thinking of having another one end of this yr or next yr.

1. My jordan sleeps around 9 plus to 10pm..actually i dun hv a habit of putting him in his bed to sleep at night le. i let him watch cartoon till he automatically falls asleep watching tv.
2. No, Jordan doesn't like to sleep in aircon room. Once we let him sleep with us with the aircon at 26 degree n he ended up waking up every hour despite wearing sleeved sleepsuit n with a blanket!! He prefers to sleep in his room with fan cos thats where he sleeps from day one. I read that bb will adapt to the first environment after they are born, meaning if u let ur bb sleeps in an aircon room right after they r born, they will adapt themselves to the temperature...

4. No cos we tried burping him many times but regardless of how long we burp, jordan doesnt burp also. But jordan started to sleep thru when he was 3month plus...
5. Depends. i change him when his diaper is heavy, n when he poos of cos. but huggies is very absorbent so i only change him abt 4 times a day, with the last diaper to last from abt 8pm to 8am.
 
think most of the babies here sleep quite late...

1. normally i will put Daniell to bed at 7.30pm to 8pm, depending how tired & sleepy he is... but he will on & off wake up & cry (dunno why) only until pass 9pm then he will go into deep sleep, but during weekend if we come back home late then he will sleep after 9pm...
2. no, only ceiling fan which is cooling enough unless weather super hot then i will turn on 25/26 deg then will turn off before midnite
3. wear long sleeve, long pant, sometimes those footed sleepsuit fr mothercare (if w air-con) but no blanket
4. no burping after feeding, sometimes not even during daytime...
5. i change him new diaper after bath normally at 6pm, and if he sleeps early like 7pm+ & can sleep thru the nite then i won't change him liao coz if he nv drink at nite he also wont pee so much... unless he woke up in midnite & very wild awake then i will change him... i'm wearing him Pampers active

Daniell used to sleep thru from 7-8pm till next morning 6-7am but recently he wakes up so frequent at nite especially after he can flip coz he dunno how to flip back then will start to make noise... so i hav to flip him over but he will flip again, walao... i really cant sleep until i see him go back to sleep... i use the sleep positioner but not help at all coz somehow Daniell is able to 'shift' it together with him... really dunno wat can i do to 'stop' him from flipping over during nite time

Daniell does not hav napping schedule, he sleeps whenever he wan but in a very short period like 5-10mins

btw do u all think Daniell is teething coz he likes to bite my nipple nowadays and it's very painful sia...

Mommies.....i hv just fed Jordan the Pear n Banana pureed from Heinz, for the very first time...he seems to like it cos he doesn't spit it out....however i hv tasted it myself and its darn sweet! Is it a good idea that i give him these canned pureed or shd i make them myself? Will he reject milk once he has tried sth this sweet? I dun wan him to develop sweet tooth!!

One more question, shd i burp him after feeding him pureed? Hehe sorry for asking these 'stupid' questions...

Hey jes,quoting wad u hv mentioned abt bb Daniell flipping him and u hv to wake up everytime to flip him back..i'm experiencing the exact same thing! Sien sia...thought can finally hv good night rest after he sleeps thru the night but now cannot liao....This morning i found him bury his head to the bumper and i got a huge shock! I merely walked away to get some warm water to wipe his ass and he already managed to get himself into such danger!!

yalor, ever since he started to flip i really dun hav good nite rest... like last nite after he woke up at 12.30am & had his milk, he refused to sleep & busy flipping over until 2am+... really hav to keep an eye on him coz i once saw him buried his head to the cot bumper lor... the moment i saw i really jumped out of the bed & carry him up...
 
Hannor....the thing is Jordan doesn't sleep with us..so i gotta wait til he makes noise then i will wake up....i'm getting so worried..
