hey i'm interested to bring my boy for swimming too but will it be early for them to expose to swimming pool? furthermore i'm not sure if the pool water will be cold for baby or not...

the pd did give me a cream call Ziocort (sometime liek that) that also contain steriod. But i only apply when it good bad. A little bit i use baby lotion loh.

So long never post - I am back to work! SooOO sleeepy! Last nite i almost trip and fall while carrying baby for her night feed, luckily Hubby "Hop" me, if not sure bualuku.

Hey Momlouis, maybe baby is unwell that's why cannot sleep well. Did u try to Rub ruyi oil and feed gripe water?? Some babies may still be colic after 3 mths. Hmm.. regarding that "something" i think i actuallY BELIEVE. Coz when i leave my baby alone, i sometimes see her smiling happily at a fixed space, as if she is playing with someone and sometimes she will pout and wail as if somebody has bully her. It can also happen when i carry her around and coaxing her to sleep.

Hmm... then i will tell my baby, hey baby.. tell ur friend not to disturb you ok, tell ur friend that you want to sleep already, play again next time hor.. my hubby heard me and he freaked out.. hahaha

Gosh...why old folks like to say all these things??? To me, its ridiculous..They are scaring u only.

Which baby dun cry and its just a phrase and they get over..At my girl 2nd month,she's very cranky. My MIL told me to burn the amulet , let baby drink . I said no... Then she start chanting to her... But after chanting, my baby still cry ma..

Sometimes patience towards baby is what we need. I am a super impatient mother n will scold my baby if she is cranky.. After tat,i very guilty

However, i realised when i show her more patience.. she will get over it faster as i think she can sense my anger n frustration.

The baby pool at sengkang is not that cold. Temperature is quite alright for playing but I reckon for babies our age, we won't be able to let them play for too long as well.

Think i will let baby play in the pool with his neck float from 5 months plus onwards.

If you are interested to go together when our babies are older, do let me know.

ya. i always saw baby Louis smile or upset talking to "something". just now he keep crying when i rock him to sleep, then i just close my heart and ear to continue rock him although he cried badly and cruely. end up he fall asleep. thanks GOD!

ppl always say if young children r happily playing in a new hse, the hse is safe...
 
Mommy Louis - how abt trying different sleeping position? last time my cranky baby can't really sleep long in cot during the day & lying back down. nowadays will lying side ways on out masterbed during the day, fan blowing at him, bolster for him to hug & once in awhile with pacifier, it does keep him sleeping longer, compared to those days when he wakes up every 15-30 mins.

for my boy's eczema, i hav 3 types of diff cream to use...
- neorderm, contain higher level of steroid so i only use when his condition is bad
- hydroderm (less steroid) so i use after the condition is better
- physiogel AI cream, i use it as maintainance once the skin condition ok liao...

i think i will bring my boy for swimming once he reaches 6 mths old bah... my place has swimming pool, if u interested u can come over next time... dun think my hubby will let me bring my baby to public pool... hehe

tried to skip the midnite feeding last nite so that Avery's last feed was 930pm. She started to make noise ard 4.30 but fully wake up ard 5 for milk. Now dunno if i shd stick to my old schedule or let her try this till she slowly lengthen her time.

I got my PR with my family 10years ago, that time took about 6-9mths.. Then now submitted PR application for my hubby and bb as part of family stream migration PR. The lady from the Aus high comm say we can get it in 3 mths.

Would like to meet up but i am still working part time.. serving notice. heh heh. Dun mind meeting up when i clear leave though..

I agree with what the others said, its most likely a phase ur bb is going thru than 'something' disturbing it. Could it be teething? Or just feeling hot? My ger gets really cranky and not sleep well when the temp is warm. Her preferred sleeping position also change, no longer like to be cuddled, prefers to lie on her side with bolster. Like Juzyounme suggest, can try different positions... Hang in there!

Re: Flipping,
Now that most bbs are learning to flip, really have to be careful. Just as i was saying avery now is flipping from front to back and also back to front.. she 'rolled' herself across my bed today. Now i have to warn my mom in law not to leave her unattended on the bed cos she may just 'roll' off.
 
Ladies, from what i heard from old folks is that when babies smile or play when their alone on their bed, usually is the "chen bu" in hokkien (goddness of bed) playing with them..heehee but dont know true lah..

have you been married for more then 2 years, coz under 2 hubby gets TR then later go thru the whole procedure again to get PR, if after 2 years marriage , when apply he gets PR straight away .. thats what the woman told me to do , thats why I am apply ing in June.

I think perhaps u shd let her have milk at around 10.30pm instead? Do u have the habit of givingher pacifier? My girl make noise too at 4.30am like tat last time..i m too tired n stuff her pacifer =P.. now she managed to sleep longer till 8-9am also can.. But once woke up.. i fed her more milk....

we are married for 3yrs coming 4 now, so it will be straight PR once the application gets processed. Quite straight forward for application, only need to prove that we are 'really' married (must give tel bills, bank acc statements, CDrom of couple photos etc).

We just called to high comm to inquire about the status, and they are processing it this week

if feed at 1030, she will be sleeping already.. then its back to sleepfeeding her. i do give her pacifier... so if she first fuss, i will patpat her, if cannot then i give pacifier. When give her the pacifier but she still fuss and spit it out, that means she really hungry. I think i give it another 2 days and see if can settle to longer hours. Last time she was like that when i eliminated the 3am feed.. took her 2-3days to get use to the new feeding schedule. Thanks for ur advice!!
 
Yup had mine since 18, been 15 years yes.. now just applying for hubby and little gal...

when u going to melbourne again... did you say may.. and you stay there till CNY? come back to visit?
 
Heh same situation like me.. u have been staying in Aus then, on and off?

Yaps.. leaving in May.. and maybe will come back next CNY cos my sis in law is getting married then.. if not for that, probably wouldnt. Hahah CNY must give out alot of angbaos and we are on a tight budget ;)
 
Hey Ladies,

My bb loves her thumb, I was against pacifiers, but at the same time was afriad that she will have a redden thumb or sore thumb if she continues suckings as if it was nicest lolipop she has ever encountered. My nanny says introduce a pacifier only during her sleeping time, coz I did not want my child to grow up with a pacifier in her mouth 24/7 and crooked teeth.

My question is she has already found her fingers that what makes us so sure when we dnt let her suck on her fingers , give her the pacifier , and when we take the pacifier out , she wont put her thumb back in again... coz nanny says pacifer can throw thumb cannot???

Anybody shed any light??
 
Pluf, here's my thoughts, not sure if its bright though.. hehe

eventually babies will outgrow their sucking habit be it thumb or pacifier. So i guess no harm giving pacifier or let your little one suck on her thumb. For my case, my baby enjoy her hand, yes from fist to her whole hand. haha..i just let her explore. When i intro her a pacifier, she will spit it out. she prefers her hands, coz its more interactive i guess.

I think pacifier are more hygenic coz you are able to sterilize, wheres for thumb you need to clean her little hands often. To prevent getting redden thumb or sore thumb, maybe you can distract her if you realised that she had suck on her thumb for too long by playing with her, show her stuff and sing by moving her hands about etc. oH I also offer my breast to my gal if i realise she needs to suckle.. hehe.. 2in1 goodness: promotes milk production by stimulating suckling and soothes baby.

for myself, i rather to giv pacifier than letting my boy sucking his fingers... as ur nanny said we can throw away pacifier but not thumb, and thumb is always 'available' so they can juz suck whenever they want... i've been trying quite hard to giv my boy pacifier but he doesnt really like it so he's only willing to suck when he is really really sleepy... but now he luv to suck his fingers so much & refuse to take pacifier liao... everytime when i stuff pacifier in his mouth he will take out himself then put his fingers in... haizz
 
My baby just learnt to crawl today! Saw him push his backside up these few days n today finally saw him pushing his arms forward in coordination with his legs..

Anyone know where to get those foam for the wall cos my mat is against the wall n I scared he bump his head wait baluku

I gave her the pacifier when she was going to bed, at first she spad it out, they later she held it with her hand , and was so amazed by it that she sucked and sucked, then later cry coz she was so awake but overly tired. Haizz xx2

Now she refuses it...

hehe not every child will outgrow fr sucking tumb... my MIL told me tat last time my BIL sucked his tumb until 5 or 6 YO ler until she had to apply chili on his tumb to prevent him from sucking... but of coz every chid is different... but wat u said is true, pacifier more hygiene than tumb coz u cant keep on washing bb's tumb...

Me also long time didnt post here.After reading so many msg,find that my gal also faced problem like waking up in middle at nite,making noise, then when u look at her she start smiling to u *faintz* and start to kick her legs and become so excited like suddenly wanna play.

I try to let her sleep ard 9pm++ in sarong lor..beside my bed only..once she deep sleep then i carry her into baby cot. She can sleep till next day 5am+ and wake up for her milk. It seem that my gal is drinking very little compare to the babies in forum. She only drink 130ml every 3hrs day time lor. Thou she is already 5mth++. But she weight 7kg at 5mth seem weigh not a issue leh.

Ya she oso trying to suck thumb until so loud, when she young we gv pacifier when she cry lor..after tat think she outgrown then dun like liao prefer suck thumb.

Me oso very bad keep beating her finger dun allow her lor.haizzz...

I had the same concerns initially with the pacifier.. but ultimately, it was wotever works so that i get a decent night sleep (my bb was using me as her giant pacifier). :p By and large, the pacifier helped my bb alot in forming her sleep routine because it comforts & relaxes her.

At this stage, bbs may be doing alot of 'comfort' sucking as well as using their mouth for oral exploration. It is part of learning... I do find as the bb is older, you can begin to distract them using toys etc because they are also more aware and have more interest/skills to manipulate them (hence decrease their need for sucking). From there, we can move on to other modes of self-soothing methods such as having a bolster, hugging soft toys etc.

Right now i am already starting to wean my ger off the pacifier once her sleep routine is more or less established. The last few nights, she managed to sleep on her own in the cot w/o the pacifier because she has gotten used to being in her cot and her body recognizes it is bedtime. In the day time, she will be sucking/licking/feeling with various toys or teethers. However, when she is cranky, sucking on something (be it fingers or pacifier) does help in calming her down.

Anyway, each bb is different.. even if she is sucking her fingers now, it is possible to reduce that gradually as she becomes more attracted to toys etc and when she is pass her teething stage. As of all things, consistency does make a difference.. so no worries la..

There are many other signs apart from waking up for extra feeds at night. Best not to start solids before 6 mths and also do consult your PD before starting.

Best to wait till at least your boy has finished the initial batch of immunisations (i.e. 3rd dose of 6-in-1, etc). Use thermal swimwear if you are not going to a heated pool. Without a thermal suit, your baby will be very very cold within 10-15 mins. With a thermal suit, your baby is likely to be able to last longer, such as 30-45 mins.

wah lau. im damn sian sia! i freaking whole week so busy! arghz.. today ot.. tmw confirm ot.. if i didnt do finish muust sat go work. and not only that! monday and tuesday confirm OT. faints. cus wed deadline.. wah.. i think im going crazy liao. and it seems like everyday is TAXI day! lol haiz. so sianz is i miss my gal! =( today come home see she sleeping. damn sian liao.. hope tmw morning i can see her awake! if not my mood will be damn low.

I dnt think it is a heated pool, coz they give free thermal suit, as FiFi said thermal suit baby last longer. I also saw aquaducks and was interested but it is only from 6 months and my bb is only 4 thats why i went to see waterfun. maidenleak is also interested and her baby is only older then mine 2 days kekeke.Hey your baby is 5+ means can try aquaducks soon.. maybe you can see which is better in terms of teacher and environment , I dnt mind join where you are?

Hi ladies,

Just before i go to sleep, woke up for a pump, For now I am pumping and my total output is more then my bb can drink, well dnt know if later her intake might increase but my fridge and dad and nanny fridge is full, I have to give away, a bit too wasted if i gave my daughter a milk bath ya, but if i can't give away or let other bbs benefit then I will give her a cleopatra time.. Hmmmm I feel like a cow..

So if any of the mothers want. I am really particular in cleanliness and upmost quality of breast milk to the best of my ability coz my bb is total breastfeed.

I got 50 bags of 100 ml to giveaway, just pay me for the milkbag, 25 bags 8.50, I bought, blue egg heat sensor milkbags.

Long time never post.

Rachel one more week to 5mth. but still will spilt out milk. even 2 hr after her feed. Problemmmm. So now after her feed have to carry her or let her sit down , coz if she lay down ( nothing better to do ) she will flip and stretch then split out milk.

Pass few nights Rachel dont sleep through out the night. Her last feed abt 9:30pm then wake up abt 4am. I dont think she is hungry, i felt that she wake up because flip and cant flip back. then have to carry her till she sleep. Hope that she will go back to her sleeping pattern.

My Rachel also gets cranky and not sleep well when the temp is warm. So let her sleep in aircon in the night. As for the day i will let her sleep on her tummy.
If she still dont sleep then i will slow talk with her tell her tat mummy very tired already, my Yao is painful, you sleep then i can sleep. Like last night before she sleep she keep talking to me , then i tell to dont talk to me now go to bed and talk to Angles, when you wake up then mummy will talk with you.
These may not always works but i feels that it is a kind of distraction for me ( so that i will not keep thinking of why bb dont sleep, why she is so cranky) and i believe tat BB will understand what we say and how we feels.
Just somthing to share with you. Pray that this phase will over soon. Y^^Y
 
Morning Mummies,

My little gal has this new habbit? or should I say new thrill... She makes sounds like she has a lolli in her mouth and when you look at her, she looks as if she really does have a lolli in her mouth pushing it back and forth. and in the midst of it making loud sucking noise. Since I am no more with her during the day for about one month now.. stupid me did not know she was actually playing till I ask the nanny this morning... I tot she was hungry , give her my nipple few times and few times she cried and I felt so sad , like she dnt want to drink from me anymore.. then again just now I tot to myself if I was her, I cry too in frustration.. Her I am trying out my new found "Thingy" I could do, and all mummy koes is shaft her breast into my face...

Its times like this I wana be a SAHM. Coz I miss that part of the development and nights and weekends not enough at this weekend i am away for business trip...

Any mummies babies do funny things.. by the way, my bb is 4 months in 3 days amd I only saw her flip one time.. wonder if she is a slow flipper... It seems all u mummies babies are already flipping hilariously.

I was reading the post and saw that you need to increase milk quanity. Try this from Mums in Mind.I was drinking it prepregnancy till 1st month after. It seems to work for me..

Red Raspberry Leaves: contain calcium, magnesium, and iron, Vitamin C ? E. This is an excellent womens' herb, often used during pregnancy to relieve morning sickness, strengthen uterine muscles for labor, and slow bleeding after birth. Raspberry also increases breast milk.

last night 3am, i was woken up by her poo poo sound.. very loud.. I was like " 3am, u poo poo???"... cos she never poo at night b4.. always clean with just urine in her diapers in morning..

While i prepared for warm water to clean her butt.. she was in deep sleep.. but i think bcos of the poo, she lift up her both legs in the air to zzzz.... hahah... so funny.. its quite dim in the night.. if not i sure take a camera to take pics.. LOL

ARGH.. my buddy colleague got HFMD & my boss's mouth got 7-8 ulcers...I m so scare!!

haha merydith, when your baby say "boo" does he say with a lot of saliva spouting out??

anyway, pluf, dont worry about baby flipping cos my baby also flipped only once...as long as they reach their milestones...should be o.k and the babies should flip by 6th months...so now they are only 4months+ and we expect them to flip like it's second nature...is a bit too much to expect of them lor....

btw, my baby has been biting me whenever she is latched on these days. damn painful..... anyone having the same problem?

Did you burp Rachel properly? A lot of times, baby will spit up milk when there is a gas bubble in their tummy which is not expelled, and then you feed her even more milk on top of the gas bubble. So imagine there is a layer of air sandwiched between the milk, the air still wants to come up but the milk on top in the way, so spit up happens. Try to burp her in a tummy down position, see if that can help solve the problem.
