so zach is also waking up in the nights? so i guess it also has nothing to do with how much they are drinking during the day...cos Emma is drinking 130ml each feed...and i was wondering if i need to increase her feed in order for her to sleep throughout the night....
i guess not then......aargh!!!
wish i can have uninterruptable sleep.....it's been so long since I slept through the night....

I can understand your feeling and stress due to the difficulties coping with job and BF, I do have the intention to give up my job and look after my bb till bb reached one year old.
My female boss is not supportive for 4 mths ML and 6 mths BF. She told me last time only took 2 mths ML and stop BF before started work so why now we need to take 3 or 4 mths ML in one go and BF bb for so long ?
She has indirectly mentioned if I take full 4 mths in one go then may lost my job, therefore I did consider to resign if not allow to take more then 2 mths ML.
At the end, she agreed to let me took 13 weeks ML(fixed) + 3 weeks ML (flexible) but the condition was I got to work from home during my ML.
I started to work from home during my confinement period and I went through the hard time after my CL left, nobody help up and I got to cope with wok and bb (my bb was very cranky and fussy before he turns 2 mths.)
My HB give me a full support like helping me look after bb and doing house work once he reached home so that I can work during night time, I only able to sleep for average of 3 hrs daily for that period.
Sometime, when I looking at my bb I feel guilty toward him coz can't BF him till 6 mths due to the work stress and sent him to nanny place when he was only 2.5 mths old….

hahah.. tell me abt it! I slept at 1am everyday and wakes up at 4.30am then sleep at 6am till 6.15am then gotta wake up to get ready for work! Sometimes tat 15minutes oso i dun get to sleep..
I tink it is cos they are so used to be fed on demand, they dun a schedule..they could be waking up cos they feel like waking up. Usually at nite when Zach drink it is for 10minutes, i put him down again, he will not cry..he will sleep immediately, no fuss! I conclude it is a want but not a necessity..

bottle feed means that i can control the amt given..and monitor it compared to latching on.. the midnite feed Avery takes 180ml.. and last her till 7am.. so i want to try to see if i give her same amt at 9pm.. will she be able to sleep til at least 5-6am.. My gut feeling is that she dont really need the midnite feed already... but see how tonite la.

I really empathize.. i find myself all topsy turvy when i can't have at least 4-5hrs non-interrupted sleep. Really envy my hub.. even sky fall down, he still can sleep, not like me.. bb just fuss abit i can wake up already.

Today, I'm on leave to bring my bb for his 2nd jab of 6 in 1 and rotavirus, just in case he may have fever after the jab then decided keep him at home for 2 days. He has no cry for the jab, still smiled at DP after finished the oral vaccine. PD advise to take pneumococcal when he reachs 6 mths old, there will be 3 dose in his 6, 7 and 12 mths.
My bb weight only 6.3 kg and height is 66.3cm in 4 mths and 2 weeks.
Recently, my bb intake significant reduced and inconsistent, he used to be 100 to 120 ml x 6 feeds and cried for milk 3 hrs interval but once he turn 4 mths reduce to 4 or 5 feeds and 1 or 2 feed only drink 1 or 2 oz then refuse the milk.
He sleeps from 9 to 10pm till 6 to 7am. But 7 to 8pm feeding always can't finished (1 or 2 Oz only ) so got to feed him at 1am for 150ml and he can finished then last till 6.30am for next feeding.
I'm a bit worried for his feeding issue and discuss with PD for introduce solid food to him once his reaches 5 mths.But PD advise better wait till 6 mths and recommends to give Nestle rice cereal to him, so ask for some samples from the clinic.

But i realise, everytime at around 3-4am, she sure make some noise.. i will need to pat pat her back to sleep or stuff pacifer...

My PD ask me wait till 6 mths then start to introduce solids to bb coz now still have 2 to 3 full feeds. If bb further reduce his intake then can start early a bit. Sound like she don't agreed to introduce early than 6 mths ler.

My bb used to be wake up at 4 to 5am and make some noise too, i just give him pacifier then he went back to sleep and continue doing for few days, now he can sleep till 6.30am and no more noise.

That's what my mom said also.. feed at 12 so can sleep longer.. better still feed FM cos suppose to take longer to digest.. But whether BM or FM, she still fuss ard the same time in the morning. Used to be 3am.. then slowly stretch to 4, 5 and now 630ish sometimes 7. This morning, she quite good, let mommy sleep in while she 'entertain' herself with her toys in the cot. So woke up to her smiling and chewing on her toys. Heh heh

last night i tried just putting her in her cot once she started to yawn after her 9pm feed and miraculously she didnt need the pacifier, and fell asleep on her own (turn here turn there). Hope she continue like that ah.. another lucky thing is, she dun wan to be carried to sleep... in fact will cry if we do that but falls asleep once we put her down on the bed (usually with pacifier and bolster).
And oh! Avery flip from prone to supine today on her own! Previously only prone to supine. Finally made it after all the "ek ek ek" while trying.. heh heh

think every baby has their own development and sleep schedule.
some of you think 180ml per feed every 3 hours is alot. My boy is 4months 10 days old and he's downing 210ml! He's only 7kg exactly.... not obese at all. Sometimes I wonder where all the milk goes to.
When i brought him for his 5 in 1 jab at the polyclinic at 3 months old, he was drinking 180ml of EBM per feed then. I asked the doctor whether he would be obese because he was drinking 6 or 7 feeds a day but the doctor said my boy is on the 50th percentile and not to worry too much so maybe he just has a huge appetite and high metabolism rate!

Bumper mat:
I brought the Parklon bumper mat and just got it at 10pm. It nice and colourful but rubber smell quite strong, will leave in study room for few days after the smell go off then let my bb play on it, hope he likes it.

it's been hell of a busy work week.. tired! hw are u gals doing? =)
re: milk intake
my boy just started taking 170ml 3-4hrly, 5feeds a day, but it's increasingly diff to feed him as he will fidget n play while drinking. His mouth also starts 'munching' liao when he sees us eating.. so cute!
re: weaning materials
any recommendations? saw spoon/fork sets from combi, pigeon but havent decide which one to get yet
re: playmat
hubby doesnt allow me to get e LG/Parklon ones. says it's too ugly to fit the hse decor coz i intend to put in living room (replace carpet). says more for play area which we dun have e luxury of space for. happen to see a Skip*Hop one.. need to fix up the diff pieces kind.. quite stylish looking, so i may get that instead

i bought the yellow bus paklon mat and arirved yesterday night 9pm. its very colorful.
at first i'm thinking to put the mat at the living area, but too many stayed in the house, so, quite dirty, for hygien purpose, i have converted one room for the baby playroom. so, i can just ask my sis-in-law clean that room everyday morning before put the baby into the room.
Morning and afternoon Sleeping problem:
HELP!!!!! baby Louis everytime sleep 30 mins wake up, then, i tried to carry him to sleep, and put him down, after 15 mins, he wake up again!!!!!
then every 10 mins wake up. anyone encounter this problem? i really dunno what to do to let him have a peaceful sleep.
he always half way rub his eye, pull his ear, rub his head etc. then he wake up. the way he rub his eye and pull his ear is very rough. i realy worry that he will pull out his eye ball or hurt his eye ball!!! i have been very frustrated on this. and sad to see baby Louis can't have a peaceful sleep.
then my PIL and SIL went to temple and asked, then the person said there is "something" disturb the baby. he said every house also has this thing. and the "something" is not bad one, just maybe disturb the baby. so he gave bracelet for the baby. but, after that still the same, baby still like to rub his eye and pull his ear and wake up every 10 mins then cry badly.

Anyway, I'm feeding her Nestle Rice Cereal (plain one) mix with my BM. Intro one teaspoon first. Every 2 days, increase another one teaspoon. Isn't it ridiculous how old folks will blame baby's every little upset on 'something'? Don't you think that it creates an environment of fear or paranoia in the home? Of course the temple guy will say that 'something' is disturbing the baby, that's what temple people always say! then they sell you a charm or you donate.
Don't worry about Louis's sleep upset, it'll be just a phase

Mommy Louis, i know what the old folks referring to..."zhi mu"..i heard that they say u must pray ard the bb's bed every 1st and 15th and once u started it..u will have to do so all the way till the bb is 3yo...so troublesome..my tots is same as Tamms, Louis will be fine soon..it is just a phase. But u really scared...then plant some pomelo (xia liu) outside ur house lor..suppose to keep ur house "clean"
I am so sian at work today..ytd i work nearly 10pm then go home..btw then reach home..my boi is asleep and i feel so guilty not spending eluff time w him..worse..weekends have to bring him to my pil place which again..i cannot hug or carry him..cos my mil is hogging him from me! Now i am thinking it will be more better to work shift...after all, shift will not have to do overtime..keke

I super agree with Tamms lah. When my ger fusses too much at my own place, I was always told to put the pomegranate leave in her cot or let her bathe with it. But if it happens at the old folk's place, they dun do it lor...
My ger is oso fusses and cry and rub her face really hard trying to get to sleep. She eats the tutu quietly then suddenly she starts fussing/crys super loud like someone hit her lidat. My guess is that they have prob getting to sleep n is just feeling irritated (or warm! the recent weather is horrible! I note she does not do tat at my own home cos she gets a fan near her cot). So try to make him comfortable (i.e. his fave sleep position, no loud sounds, no strong light shining into his face, etc)

it's not pamelo lah... Pamelo (yiu zhi) leaves are green and bigger (must buy from market)... Xia liu plant has lots of stem that got many many small leaves one... the younger leaves (hokkien call huey xim - http://farm1.static.flickr.com/118/368004022_e19f201032.jpg?v=0) are red in colour... I think u are referring to the Xia Liu, some species can actually produce the fruit pomegranate.

when I come home from work, my little Blythe will drink from me, but she never empties my breast not even one side, she may have her last feed from her nannys approxi 6.30 pm. I will give her on demand some times 7 pm or 8 pm before she sleeps at 830pm, she does not not wake up till 5 am and I give her one side she drinks then falls asleep and at 7 am , most of the time she is asleep i nurse her before I go to work but I still dnt think she is that hungry to drink, I wonder if my milk will decline if I seem to be soley just expressing, but I do latch her whole day during the weekends? Do ur babies really drink empties ur breats when u come back, coz I know babies are the best pump and me pumping wont really empty my breast like babies will

Hi all.. i talked to my boss yesterday and I was lucky she said i could go off immediately to settle my personal stuff and dun need to resign because she cannot afford to lose anymore ppl..i was so happy like a burden has been lifted off me. I can't believe that she could let me go juz like tat, but i still need to do some work at home mostly documentation which is okay for me.
That burden lifted off but another one added to me. This morning sent my son to school, teacher told me to increase Zach's milk intake fr 150ml..today i alr increase to 160ml..intend to increase to 170ml tmr..means i hv to pump doubly hard to meet his increased demand.
Oh, after sending him to school, i went to a wet market in Chinatown, how come they r able to sell fishes at such cheap price? 3plates for $10. Over at Punggol, one piece of ngoh fish alr cost me few dollars..i bought 1 big green papaya, some pork ribs, 3pc of fish onie less than $20.. gotta drink papaya fish soup everyday!!

my boy sleep very little too during daytime, most of the times will not exceed 30mins... normally he naps for 10-15mins only & wake up very easily even though he fuss/cry but he also cannot sleep long... at nite (normally before 9pm) he also got wake up very easily from his sleep (i normally put him in bed abt 8pm) & cries very loud & chim cham until like being abandon... sometimes i worry too, maybe he's having bad dream... and this will repeat few times until he really goes into deep sleep! but as other said, it might be juz a phrase...!

actually hydroderm got a bit steroid (tat;s wat doc always giv for eczema condition but the steroid level quite low for this cream) & physiogel AI cream does not hav steroid at all (it's a moisturer tat meant for maintanance), u can only get them from clinic...

jes, no leh..i m on leave but at times still need to work cos got project to rush out.. i m ok lar..stay home alone nothing to do much except wait for time to pump..
thanks all the mommies. just now baby Louis act the same thing to me again. this morning he slept 20 mins then wake up, he starting to play, so i just acocompnied him, he keep rubbing his eye, then i thought he want to fall sleep, then i pick him up and carry him, he cry like someone abandon him, very jia-lat. then i put him down again, play with him again, then he cry again, i thought he wants milk, i gave him milk, then he doesn't want (Wasted!!!) this routine continue for 5 hours. i nearly siao!! then i angry and scold baby Louis.
i feel bad also then i cry also, but i really cannot tahan already. everytime i carry him sleep, he just keep crying, crying.... i quite tire also, dunno becos recently keep carrying him, my "yao" very pain and my feet also feel pain.
anyway, i just want to vent. thanks for listening. i just pray this phrase can over soon.

Actually, I thought of bringing my baby to the sengkang swimming pool every tuesday because they clean the pool every mondays so the pool is cleanest on tuesdays. If there's any mummy out there living in sengkang and wants to do a baby swim together, pls PM me!

Any mummies here start to give baby cereal already?
I read that one of the signs that baby is ready for semi solids is baby must have double his/her birth weight. One of the signs is also if baby doesn't seem full after 8 to 10 feeds of milk per day.
Past two nights were pretty rough, my boy will wake up exactly on the dot every 3 hours for milk even in the night. In the day time, sometimes every 2.5 hours he will cry for milk. All in, he's drinking about 8 to 9 times these past two days.
Should I try giving him some cereal? I am actually against giving semi solids so early but am not sure how I can survive with him being so needy for milk.
