Hi echo
I used to increase my BM by eating alot alot of fish during confinement.. such tat every meals i ate fishes n mainly cod fish &amp; Ngoh Fish only...

Now at least daily i ate fish but not every meal. Like wat chantalle said, hot soup also...

Dun take any dang gui soup too as it cuts supply.

Oh Yes, dang gui!! hahaha.. perhaps when i really stop BF.. i will take dang gui regularly.. =P

Hmmm... Just now my own place got no bb detergent so I used salt to wash a bottle that i put in the sink for almost 3 hrs. Apparently, still ok. I think the salt is important. Why dun u rinse aft use first. When u wash all tog, then u do the "full" clean!

U shld be happy leh... At least ur gal prefers ur breast over bottle... U got the milk smell la, that's why she rather latch u than take bottle. At least when u go back work, ur MIL won't hv prob feeding her lor.

Brennon took his 1st pneumococcal jab last sat. According to my PD its better for him to take as the virus is quite common in sg. MOH didnt make it a compuslory jab because its quite costly!

Thanks for your tips and advice. I decided to go with motillium for a short period of time, to see if it helps. Some of the bfg websites I went to recommended motillium as a temporary boost to milk supply.

Thanks.. I want to BF till 1-2 years, or until my next pregnancy. Hopefully I can boost my supply until 6 months, when she won't need so much milk, then I don't have to worry so much. For me, latching is much easier than pumping, so I try to maintain my supply by latching at night. Just that I cannot pump out enough milk in the day to leave behind for her.

Jia you orh! btw, how many fenugreek pills u take? I heard taking the max dosage (8 per day) shld be effective? Also do keep urself properly hydrated. I find that if I do not drink enough water, the qty of BM will fall.

I oni give my ger rotavirus oral vaccine (cos it's cheap, my GP charge me $90 per dose). He says Pneumococcal is necessary if ur bb is going infantcare. If not can wait till bb is older. The older the lesser the jabs (therefore cheaper!). *haha*

I will pump religiously until 6mths. Then start to cut my ss and pump less frequently. Hopefully, that can sustain and end by the time my ger is 1 yr ( Imagine! I can celebrate my freedom from my PISA during my ger's bday celebration!). But plans can go wrong. I may stop BF earlier if I get infections.

Pneumococcal jab: My GP downstair quote very ex... its $180/jab, if below 6mths, got 4 jabs, that's $720!!!the jabs will reduce by 1 every 6mos, meaning, if after 6mos old, it's 3 jabs, after 1 yr old is 2 jabs, after 2yr old, it's oni 1 jab...i wanted my ger to have the jab as she's in IFC.

Phyl, how much is the PD in yishun charging, think his can claim thru the CDA acc?

I m also trying my best. i think my perseverance will be lower when i start work next week...My BF is tough with infections, lumps n blocks.. Yesterday just clear a huge lump but still there are small ones around.. SIANZ!!!

We both jia you ok. Since the move to my inlaws, miss chatting with u while pumping at midnight...
I also got lots of lumps recently (cos i pump aft 7hr one morning.

). Nowadays, I also massage my breast (while washing with soap) with hot water spraying at me when i bathe. Not sure if it works but I find it easier to massage my breast when it's soapy. Now keeping my fingers crossed tat i can keep an infection away. X___X

Can get the pneumococcal jabs at GP. It's cheaper than PD cos PD will charge super consultation fees... My GP charges 150 per jab. My ger went for 6 in 1 + Rota during her 2months, he din charge consultation fee. So in the end still cheaper than if i take PD package.

we started Olivia on pneumococcal already. We meet my sis and her 1yr old Tara quite frequently, and Tara is always coming down with some kind of cold, so just playing it safe. Don't know why my poor niece is always falling sick.

Planning to introduce cereal at 5-6months and will naurally cut down on BF gradually until O is about 1yr+ then will stop. Considering to get preg again next year anyway. Will also be intoducing FM towards the year end.

Just curious how many moms here have babies still waking up in the middle of the night?

I'm asking this bacause O started waking up between 4-6am last week, which is not her usual habit. She normally sleeps through waking up only at 730-930am. Fed up of having to wake up in the middle of the night, I started to look closely at my diet to see if anything I ate or drank was waking her up earlier. 2 nights ago and last night, I cut out my occasional 1/2 can of coke, and guess what? These 2 nights she slept through and went back to her usual 10hr sleep! I guess even 1/2 can of coke had too much caffeine.

Olivia is really good, can sleep through the night. Emma wakes up 2-3 times at night still. Caffeine can affect different babies different. I don't feel that Emma is affected when I drink a cup of coffee in the day. But once I had a double latte on my own and Emma was awake and fussing the whole night! I'm now more careful about my caffeine intake - can take a bit but not too much!

tamms, tell me abt the caffeine..there was one nite i drank tea and immediately zach wakes up for milk and refuses to sleep. He now still wakes up at different hour trying his luck but i will always flip him on his tummy and pat him to sleep..he will fall asleep n wakes up at 6am for milk or as and when my breast leak then i will wake him up..haha

sorry ah gals, but pneumoccoccal can prevent flu for babies?? the infantcare that zach is at oso hv alot of babies hv running nose..super jia lat one leh and the teachers dun ask them to go back one lor..those pi ti keep leaking on the play mat n they eat those toys, i wonder do they wash the toys everyday or not.. the moment i tink of it i alr sian half liao. was juz telling hb i feel like taking no pay leave n take care of zach till he is 1 years old but tat means i cannot buy so much stuff anymore n worse is i cannot spree so much liao..wahaha

tara, at first i wanted to BF for 4mths cos tat time i was pumping n super sian..then now i latch him totally with 1 feed of FM per day (so tat he can get used to it), i find it so much easier and burden is lesser and i extended it to 6mths and then lately i m quite determined to breastfeed beyond 6mths but onie plan to latch at nite and day tiem let him have his cereal and FM.

When can we start them on puree ah?? I tot of giving zach carrot puree cos i notice he like to squint his eyes juz like me when i was young while watching tv..scared he got my family gene where all of us wear spectacle. In my family n extended family, none of us were spared..all are blind without contact lens..hehe

I think the recommendation is to start on solid food at 6 months. But talking about baby's eyesight, I remember reading somewhere that babies are born with poor eyesight and that they only start to see clearly when they're much older.

Caffine does affect babies differently. I usually take one cuppa tea a day (my "soul" drink). If I take more caffine, my ger has difficulties getting to sleep (i.e. she will rub her eyes and turn her head here n there for almost 1 hr b4 zzz). Her wake time somehow shifted from 7 to 7.30am to 6.30am nowadays. Maybe cos her last feed gets earlier...

Anybody's bb is currently only drinking 5 times a day (3hrly) and can sleep thru? Wondering if i should wake my bb for the sixth feed nowadays... *hmmm*

How much milk is she drinking a day? Should aim for about 25oz (750ml) of BM. If she doesn't take that amount, then try to wake her? Also, if you want her to gain more weight, you might also want to wake her.

I'm now trying to latch Emma more often when I'm at home. If I can, every 1.5-2h, so that she can get more milk. Hopefully she will put on a bit more weight after a while.

not only does caffeine kp baby awake, I can't sleep either! Have you tried the coffee jelly from Tonkichi? That wonderful tonkatsu restaurant at Taka? I had one coffee JELLY and couldn't sleep till 3am... gosh imagine used to drink 2-3 cups pre-preg, now can't even manage a cup of jelly?!

I wonder how much caffeine there is in a coke though. Any idea?

I dun think got tat much. She drinks abt 3 to 4oz each time. Assuming 6 feeds a day, it'll be 18oz to 24 oz. But she does sleep n poo well... In terms of weight gain, I'm not too sure... See wat my GP say lor. I haven gone to PD aft her 1st month review. Should I go PD again? *Hmmmm...*
