As long as the doc. confirm that when i have my 2nd child, i be able to BF again. tats the most impt to me...
My EBM able to store till June la.. By the time she is 6 months..

bubble, my infantcare fee is abt $457 monthly.. i remember it was $388 last year but i suppose this year they increase the school fee liao. But it is still cheaper compare to nanny.. I did ask abt the activities they will organise for babies, there are singing sessions, reading sessions in both English and Mandarin and baby gym as well. Well, hopefully my boy will not be lying in his cot the whole day. I will go and visit him twice daily so not tat bad - will not have separation anxiety bah. Hahaha
I tink if u pump, u get hungry faster? I latch on but I dun get hungry easily but i super thirsty. Down abt 3 - 4 litres of water daily..

do you think its possible that you're having these blocked duct problems because you over pump? Are you latching and pumping? Maybe artificially creating an over demand is over stimulating your glands to produce, creating an even bigger problem for yourself. I'm saying this because it's only March now and you have enough frozen ebm to last till June!

i dun think will able to store till june leh. u count and see 1 day she drink how many packet liao. like that enff meh?? i dun think so leh. even mine i also dun think can last till june. Example that time gave my BM to bbpearl and Juzunme they use like maybe 1 month or less finish liao leh.. i think 1 day u must take out at least 4 or 5 packets. so how can u last till june? hehe very fast will dry de if u depending on frozen de.

i don't think there is enough information out there confirming if over pumping can lead to blocked ducts, but i noticed that you and jowin seem to have this problem, and coincidentally, both of you pump and store your milk in large amounts. I think there may be a link there. I think its possible that creating an artificial demand through pumping therefore producing more milk than necessary may be the cause of your problems.
Has that thought crossed your mind?

morning ladies...
Daniell has been sleeping thru last 2 nites, last nite the longest coz he slept from 8pm-7am without waking up in the middle of the nite, i'm so happy but a bit worry too coz i'm bringing him back to M'sia today & scared later he will change his pattern again in different environment! *cross my fingers*
btw, think my menses come already... it's been two days liao, the flow is not much but in flesh red colour ler, if tomolo still nv stop mean confirm menses bah... xian, i'm on TBF ler, tot still can last another few more mths without pad!

when Olivia first started sleeping through, I thought her pattern would change too when her routine was disrupted but so far so good, she still continues sleeping through the night. so don't worry about Daniell, sure will be ok, if disrupted should only be temporary!

think i lost weight.. back to almost my previous pre-preg! but i still couldn't wear alot of my pants.. my bum-bum enlarged liao!
my bb on 3 different occassions had accidentally grabbed and pulled his own hair soo soo tightly and started screaming the whole house down..
he's coming to 3mths and can see that his hair is dropping.. sigh..

i had this a few times already.. mostly was because after my bb kicked my chest real hard when i have him sat on my lap facing me..
another time when when i was wearing my sling.. i think i wasn't wearing it correctly so that area got compressed..
what i'll usually do was to "jiggle" my neh-neh as hard/much as i could, massage affected area from nip and go upward, nurse while lying down w/ bb.. so far this had cleared completely..

Alamak.. i forget to say that i m mixing FM & EBM
My EBM can feed her 4 feeds per day n 2 feeds have to supplement with FM. thats why ok to last her till June lor. No more on total breastmilk.
Each pump session, i can pump out 2 feeds. If 5 sessions, i can pump out 10 feeds. She drink only 6 feed. The rest of 4 feeds i freeze up.

normally if i can wait i will also continue to let it engorged, coz i'm also lazy to pump!! but this morning since i wake up already then i pump lo... and yes Daniell also latch one side only, if i force him to take another side, he will giv me a kind of 'want to puke' look!! buay tahan him... kekee

Olivia's last feed is normally at 930-10pm, I normally pump at about midnite just before I go to bed. She will wake up for her milk around 730-9am. I don't wake up to pump, no point disrupting my sleep, otherwise very tired. Used to wake up feeling very engorged but not the supply has adjusted so not so painful anymore.
The rest of the day I latch her on about 3hrly. My breasts do not feel as full as they used to, which worries me a bit but she is still feeding well and now weighs 7kg at 3m so I think its ok. I don't think supply has dropped but definitely feel more comfortable now.
ya my sis is quite lucky not to have her period yet. Anyway I don't think they are planning for another baby so soon so it suits her fine.

since zach will be starting infant care, they will start on solid starting from 6mths onli and then on porridge from 8th month onwards (i tink).. but good thing is i dun hv to buy cereal or those stuff. Is all provided.

I did hear frm the LC that pump time should be limited to 10 to 15mins (using the Medela PISA) as overpumping is bad. I oso have stores of milk enuf to last my ger for more than 3 mths. If I do not pump 3hrly, confirm get lumps on my breast. But pumping 3hrly will cost me my sanity... I am really keeping my fingers crossed that I do not get an infection (AGAIN!) too... My guess is that clogged ducts are more prevelant amongst mothers who pump exclusively (i.e. no latching). *admire mommies whose babies latch on*

Some pple say that as long as bb reaches a certain weight by 4mths can start them on semi solids. But I think I will wait till 6mths (more recommended by health care professionals leh).

my pain at times its when i have lumps.. and recently i have a lump at a nipple that im going crazy. As its not going off! arghz and nipples are so sensitive. faints. usually i pump 3 or 4 times aday only. and the amount i get is usually get is 18oz +/-..
Oh no.. i think my gal is going to have running nose! and her eye looks abit swollen on the right. haiz. duno why. will observe it till tmw. If not tmw night will bring her see Doc. normal doc can already hor??? she keep sneezing like more than 5 times today and abit cough at times not very serious but its quite mild and im quite worried.T__T

Fabbie: do a latch on to ease that nipple lump with a nipple shield. It works for me.

I just assume that if milk supply run dry one day, i will just feed baby with fomula milk. But it seems not that easy uh, as i read that babies will not be able to switch over easily?? Fr nipple to bottle or from BM to FM?? Mummies care to share with me how to get started to build a storage of BM?

if can u 4hrs pump lor will be good and the supply will be there still. if you drag the time sometimes may reduce the supply. for me i dun think i can pump 4hrs due to my working hrs. like that no need to work liao... haiz.

I am back at work and my pump times are as follows. Getting worried that I have two 6 hrs strech will cause me to get fever. So keeping toes crossed.
6am: Pump & give to hb to bring to MIL's place for bb to drink "fresh"
12noon: Pump at office
4pm: Pump at office
8pm: Pump at home
12midnite: Pump at home

sometimes feel that being a mummy really very 'wei da'. Go through all the pain and stress juz to make sure that our baby has the best! No wonder all children are closer to mummy..

Pumping at work: I'm pumping every 4 hours...no choice. Scared my supply will drop leh. My pump schedule is:
5.30am: Pump after feeding baby
9.30am: Pump @ office
1.30am: Pump @ office
5.30pm: Pump @ office
Then I go home and latch baby on. Actually should still pump at night...but I'm lazy..

The LC at TMC said I had some psychological blockage, so for some reason cannot get letdown and get milk out. Actually during that time, I was always worried my baby need to latch on and I have no milk because I pump. But once I went to work to pump, the letdown and flow just happened and I manage to pump about 150ml to 180ml every 4 hours.

Shall decide if i shd continue after my infection is cured. Then to see if i wanna pop tat med. to stop BF anot.
I think after once baby delivered.. i really become a yellow face woman... Chamz.. i dun bother to dress up when going shopping... even forget to apply lipstick.. Sometimes after i apply,i scare i would stain on my baby. I m so lazy to do my manicure n pedicure.. afraid that the manicure would crack n went into the food for baby.. pedicure also lazy to do already... I m leaving my whole set of DIY nail polish untouch..
When going shopping, i m looking things for Ashlynne instead for myself.. infact my pair of shoes already worn out terribly.

i try not to be a huang lian po! although my hubbie like treating me one! i make sure i go town i wear heels with clarice(hehee) wear jeans.. put make up. EXPECT lipstick. lol other than like a short dinner or whatever i dun care liao. hehe

sigh.. now wif my hb sitting beside me, he oso dun bother to talk to me. Our relationship change so much after baby is out. He come back from work, never once ask me how I am but he will ask, how's baby? He play wif him until he is tired then pass baby back to me. Once baby sleep, I need to wash our clothes, put the clean laundry back.. clear Zach's clothes etc.. he din even utter a word to me! Abit sian..
Actually I oso lazy to dress up..cannot wear heels cos all my heels are like 3inch type, how to carry him and walk wif that. Cannot wear some of my clothes cos there are buttons or embelishments, scared will hurt him..my hair looks like shit..muahaha.. yeap and the onie consolation is that Zach sees me and he will smile! That really brightens my day and make his daddy jealous..

If you can't do the 8pm pump at home, you do in the office? Actually, my supply oso dip when I had breast infection in Dec last year. But the ss slowly went up after i recovered. So dun worry lah. Just make sure you pump the milk out properly.

I m in pain at KKH.. he did not even ask me how m i n keep playing with his new iphone. In his life now.. only baby n iphone.. Only after i cried to him today, he changed abit n "remember" he still have a wife.. SIGH!!!!
Lucky i have my darling girl.. whom makes my heart melt when she smiles so sweetly to me.. instead to daddy.. hahahah!!!

if Clarice has a blocked nose, I find this helpful especially at night ... Karvol Decongestant capsules .. can buy from Guardian Pharmacy .. really helps them to not feel stuffy and can sleep properly. It's been a lifesaver for me many times for my elder girl ...
Karvol Decongestant Capsules have a vapour action and help relieve blocked noses due to colds in the head. They can be used for children from 3 months old.
For babies over 3 months and young children - snip top off capsule, and dab the contents onto a handkerchief tied securely near to but out of reach of the child.
Contains a combination of vapour products including menthol, cinnamon, and pine oil.
Precautions: For inhalation only. Avoid direct contact with eyes and skin. Do not put drops directly in mouth or nose. If swallowed accidentally seek medical advice. Consult your doctor if symptoms persist.

half an hr i pump. sometime i will dilly dally then till 1hr. 1 hr as in need to squeeze everything Wah sianz. i think in office i need to limit myself 15mins! if not on need to work liao. sianz if you dun empty it then next session try not to drag so long hrs. if not will get a lump. Of cos I do see more concern coming fr him aft my grumbles. Sometimes, I just wan to revert to the old family of 2 life. Where things were simpler and easier...

Agree with Jo lor. Thou BF is good, I dunno how long I can persist pumping, working n sleeping the little hrs without feeling like a zombie during worktime... Hb is busy with marking to help me wash. If he wash, he lands up sleeping as late as me. So I rather one person sleep those miserable hrs... *haiz*

U using what type of bottle? My CL gave my ger the avent bottle but she rejected. She however started suckling when given NUK. I think becos the teats are smaller n softer (soft means may take in more air during feeds). U might wanna try NUK. Oso try not to be present or handle the baby just before the bottle feed [My ger will always cry or un-latch when she hears my CL's voice. Cos CL = bottle feed. She prefers bottle cos faster milk flow.]

last nite i changed to a bigger hole teat for Zach and he cried his lungs out.. at first I thought it is because he do not want to drink from bottle..so change his diaper, play wif him etc..then i decided to change back to his old teats, voila..he drank quietly! How can a 3mth old baby still using 'S' size teat?/ The flow is so slow..but is good oso cos I read if baby start using bigger hole teats, they will not want to latch on anymore, so maybe the slower flow mimicks my flow of BM
Snowger, actually I oso use to pump in the beginning but I dun hv the discipline to wake up the same time everyday and now end up the pump and accessories I keep liao and i continue to latch. The ss is not alot but sufficient to keep Zach going.
For those mummies that are breastfeeding, it is very important to have a good balanced diet so that bb can benefit else no point in breastfeeding..BM requires Protein, Fat and Water to produce, but we mummies need calcium and other stuff to keep us going as well..
As for hb, u will not believe how many times we have argued over this and I even said i will call my parents to pick me up to go back to Malaysia..he will change, for 2 days then revert back to old self. I am so so tired..he really expect me to do everything and yet take me for granted! I m like a maid now..but no pay given. Summore this year we are preparing for our customary and i m the one that is doing everything..but i alr told him liao, if u r not doing / contributing, don't think i will. Worse come to worse, waste all the deposit money onie lor and u will forever hear me calling ur parents Aunty and Uncle and when Zach ask, i will say we are not formally married.
