ya PD told us to apply very thin layer only & max twice a day, i only apply when see lot of rashes, if only a bit then normally i will skip...
 


i'm really tired & wonder if i should start giving my boy EBM every feed or continue latch on, coz i find it difficult to fix him a feeding schedule coz he seems forever hungry if i latch him on & i hav to nurse him every 1.5-2hrs, regardless day or night, not sure if still in growth spurt as it's been like tat for almost 2 weeks, really tiring... esp nite time i will feel very frustrated if i see him crying again every 1.5-2hrs... but now my boy likes start to reject bottle coz he will always fuss during feeding time & if i let him suck he is ok, dunno wat to do... very very very sianz... now pumping output still so pathetic... BF-ing really tiring!!

i think my left breast gena clots. So pain and i feel so cold like going to have fever like that. Wat to do? I pump liao but still pain lei and the milk look lesser. I think is was blocked and cant come out.. Help..

i had a huge lump which is abt 8cm wide.. terrible n painful lump that i cannot sleep ( throbbing pain). This is wat i did...

I painfully massage like mad.. YES ITS VERY PAIN TO MASSAGE.. and use very hot towel to put on the lump area.. keep put on the hot towel n massage as well..

Then, i try to latch my baby on that breast.. While suckled, i kept on massage that lump towards the nipple... After latch, i felt tat the hardness soften down.. milk start to come out when i press on the lump. Quickly, i use the pump to pump out the rest of the milk n massage...

Altogether, i use the whole morning, about 3-4hrs to settle this huge lump.. very terrible...

Now, i think its 90% clear... I m pumping now and the SS seem to drop.. hope the SS will go back again

I m not sure if this is the correct way...but it does help me whenever i have lumps. ( touchwood)
 
ya jes is painfully massage the lump like how jowin did. massage till ya tears ame out also normal de.. got bear with it. next time when pumping remember to squueze no matter wat. rather than wait it happens more jialet.

ya.. extremely painful tat i almost cry this morning. I m thinking, going parentcraft look for Mrs Wong to massage also very pain.. massage myself also very pain. Might as well BEAR it all the way to massage.. unless really no choice but to approach parentcraft.

this morning, the lump was so painful to even touch it.. not say massage. i lift my arm to get things also pain... no choice!!! REN n shed tears when i force myself to massage... HB saw already also heartpain when i keep saying " i dun wan BF already la"....

Why got this stupid lump?? i went out shopping yesterday and got delayed in pumping for 7 hrs..my BB dun wan to latch no matter how i tried. We were like fighting with each other in the nursery room.. haha!!

At night when pumping, only small lump, i hack care.. Morning woke up n here comes the super hugelump... about 8cm wide..FAINTZ...
 
Jappooh, shd be blocked ducts. Me had blocked ducts twice so far and then developed fever. After suffering for 3 days, finally the ducts cleared. I had to massage very hard and pressed the lump towards the nipple. Pumped and pumped but no use. Didnt want to let my gal suckle cos I had fever but on the 3rd day, I let my gal suckle and phew, the ducts cleared! Had actually bk apptm w lactation consultant, so didnt go in the end.

Ytd my last pump was at 2am, and I overslept till 10am. So didnt pump for 8hrs. I thought I gonna have blocked ducts already but to my relief, breasts as hard as rock, but no blocked ducts.

wear tight bra so tt breast wun enlarge alot due to engorgement. tt's wat d nurse told mi. i wore a tight tube bra w/o any wires.

I'm on total latch on, my bb sleeps 4-6hrs during the night, I just let her sleep through. She'll wake up on her own when she's ready

lol i know how it feels i had a lump too. then massage for so hard for 3 days. didnt touch it also pain. i think i rub till my skin tear liao. lolx aiya not only u. i also very lazy. bear till morning then breast super big! but then i told myself i can be lazy. but the first pump i must pump out everything clean clean and not leave anything or else the lump will grow.

your gal so cute ah. hahah fighting in the nursing room. LOLX its really funny that i can imagine! lolx

haha..ya.. i also quickly pump after she suckle to clear the lump since i feel tat its already soften on the breast abit... once pump.. 80ml came out and i rub, no more lump le...i also rub till abit like blue black.. the skin red red that patch...

Ya lor.. she dun wan to latch, i keep stuff my nipple into her mouth.. she cry.. i coax her.. then stuff my nipple in again... she cry again.. wa lau.. on n off a few times until i give up...!!! Give her EBM, she suck...

But yesterday mission accomplished la.. bought her a CNY clothing and my own CNY clothing for CNY 1st day.. 2nd CNY day hor.. i think no time to go n buy liao la... i haven even go dye my hair.

i still got abit flabby. i need to totally disappear it then im happy! lolx. unless i massage more than 1 week lor. then i guess my tummy wil be flat??

dee. this binder when i wrap hor at least i see is flat. not those binder that i wrap liao still can see something. Not bad lar can try. normally i put the massage burning fats first before i bind.
 
Tamms... thanks. I do EBM at nite so that hubby can participate so we take one slot each..hehe! But now baby seems to keep his slot!

my sil taught me quite an effective method. You might wanna try it. During your shower, use the shower head to spray as hot the temp of water that you can take it while massaging it. Also spray directly at the nipple to remove any dead skin that might be covering access to that blocked duct. Then massage the aerola too. Repeat as tolerated. Once I had a blocked duct, after spraying at the nipple and massaging the aerola, I went on to massage the lump again, it started shooting milk out!!!
 
binder: keke..i just order the binder that fabbie was saying..hope can collect before CNY..haiz...fat hope that the tummy will disappear...within a few days..

My daughter seeing Dr Lim @ Kidslink Bedok. She help my daughter with her phlegm n blocked nose just a month ago.

Kidslink is at Blk 136 Bedok North Ave 3. Try to go early to be one of the 1st cause many parents see this PD n often no space for them to sit, got to wait outside the clinic.

For ur convenience, the clinic number is 6243 3243. But today no night clinic so the earliest u can see her is tmr morning, at 9am.

DIAPER offer: I switch to Mamy Poko as now my daughter sleep through the night n Dryper cant hold her urine overnight liao. Mamy Poko having promotion, $21.45 for 72s S size.

I think Mamy Poko the material really much better, can hold urine overnight n my daughter also no longer kena the slight diaper rash redness liao. The tape is velcro also. N my gal love to look at the Winnie Pooh on the diaper. We give her 1 to play with while changing her.

Do I sound like Mamy Poko promoter?

You forgot to mention that Mamy Poko has poo poo catcher! hahaha! I reserve that & Pampers for long hours like nite or trips out. Otherwise,I use Huggies or Pet Pet. Keep changing diaper brands till my mother in law is so confused!! She has difficulty recognizing the front and back of diapers! hahaha!

I find that the poo poo pocket in Mamy Poko is of no use leh, the poo still stick to my boy's bottom and still on top of the diaper. hahaha

you should see the explosion my little boi does! With huggie, it always leaks out! So far kena both my mum and mother in law. Cross fingers for myself!
Actually Pet pet not too bad but the problem is that it has the sticky tape and not the velcro type. Then when you open the diaper, it wakes boi up.But I think I have to stick to that for a while since my mil is most skillful with that. She somehow loves to stick the velcro over the pooh bear and then cannot manage the other side.

thanks....i guess every baby is different in his/her bowel movement..relieved to know that it's o.k if baby doesnt poo for a few days...

anyway, baby pooed alot this morning, i think all the past few days poo all out at once....hehe...

I find the best way to massage out the lumps in the breast is to ask hb to massage, because when we massage ourselves, we will tend not to massage too hard because we are afraid of the pain...but I asked my hb to massage my lumps ....and the lumps got a lot better...

ur MIL so cute! Confused by the different type of diaper.

I actually thinking of using Mamy Poko throughout after I finish up this pack of M dryper. Cause though Mamy Poko is more expensive than most of the brand, I dun have to change so frequently so end up it is about same cost.

My daughter on FM so she seldom poo very frequently. But she will explode also after gathering all the poo over 2 days.
 
phyl,bubble, thanks on your concern, think cidney is feeling better, we did not use cream on her face cause most of the cream contain steriod... my hubby got 1 gd friend who had severe eczema, he was put on steriod for yrs & now he can't work as the steriod cause his liver/kidney to shut down... think the PD oso mention that cidney got eczema too, we'll wait for another day to see if her condition continue to improve...

wah jowin, u manage to get new clothes... i looking for dresses leh, wanted to go robinson sale last wkend, but no time cause CL left on sat and sun we both coma in the afternn...hopefully we can do a bit of shoppin this wkend...how to delay pumpin? i realise tht this wk during the nite, my milk leak like mad till it overflow and wet my bra and it's oni 4 hrs...i got to change bra pad every 3-4hrs...so to cut cost, i use the breastshell in the daytime...

i m also using mamy poko for the nite.. sometimes afternoon... oh.. got poo catcher meh.. haha.. how come i dun see leh....

Personally tried many diapers on my baby such as pet pet, nepia, goon, pampers comfort dry, huggies, drypers, mamy poko and fitfit... Think we still like nepia, mamy poko n pampers best.

Now Mamy Poko somehow cannot last thru the nite for my boy. Need to change him every 2hours otherwise he will wake up screaming and when I change his diaper by then, it will be super heavy.....*sigh* so much for zzzzz even though he is on 4 hourly feed.

Is Nepia using sticker type or the velcro type. I personally prefers velcro.

i am havibg fever at 39 degree. When i pump out can i still keep the breastmilk? I try to massage and it super pain. Usually i can pump 150ml for that breast but now only 50ml. So i guess is block.

My nipple also pain lei so dunno wan to let my boy latch anot.. Later i cant tahan the pain..

firstly cos it's very soft and comfy.
I also like the velcro fastenings .. hate the sticker type ..
so noisy esp in the middle of the night ..
and yes, the Pooh design is so cute ..
nevermind that we can't see the design
once we put our babies in their clothes .. lol.

I buy Mamy Poko in like 3 different sizes ...
for Calista I buy "S" size ..
then for my 3rd girl I buy "XL" size and also the pulls ups for going out and
I also get the largest size pull ups for my 4 year old ...
she doesn't need diapers anymore .. but at nite, we can't trust her to wake up and go to the loo sometimes,
so just wear one in case.
Hubby says so teruk we buy diapers like war time like that ... so many packs ..
what to do .. more than 1 kid? lol

I also have the same problem with you. I think boys just pee a lot. Except that mine sleeps thru it all. It just leaks out and onto the bed. He also happily sits in his pile of poo poo! Typically I sense something is wrong when he has this silly grin on his face then I'll quickly check before he further explodes!

I also debate on the cost issue. But I still try to change regularly. Anyway.. the diaper can't really hold more than 3 hours for my boi as it would then leak. It doesn't matter what brand it is. I always ask my hubby..to try and weigh the little dumpling of diaper! haha!Anyways.. better be safe than sorry later when the baby develops nappy rash!!!

I haven't come to this forum for quite a while.. I hope everyone is doing ok..

Just sent my ger for her vaccination!! So poor thing.. I see already hard pain.. Sigh.. then later that nite.. she had fever.. so monitor her lor.. now she is feeling better... doc said by doing the 6in1 jab, there will be a chance that she'll have fever... but if u add the pneumococca jab, the chance of getting a fever will increase.. but better be safe lah since there is this option...=)

Skin problems...
I think if the doc prescribe a cream with steroid, just use it until the rashes clear... putting steroid on the skin, there is very little absorption into the blood... I have pretty bad eczema.. and have been putting steroid cream for about 10 yrs... on and off lah.. usually when stress, my eczema will flare up...
bur.. I think that fren of urs was taking oral steroids.. the risk is higher for these pple...

But yes steroid creams can be very drying,,, and if u put too much, actually u can get quite a bit of blackhead... from personal experience.. If the child's rashes is bad, best to put till it clears, then stop the treatment...

neoderm has steroid... when doc said anti-inflammatory, usually will contain steroid... betamethasone dipropionate is the steroid but not a super strong one.. just listen to wat the doc tells u..

ya juz asked my hubby & he oso know tat neoderm has steroid, only me so blur dunno... hehee!! anyway i only apply very thin layer on my boy's face & stop whenever i see the rashes go off...

btw, u still on total latch-on? how's everything? how's ur gal's feeding schedule? me dunno when my boy can stick on schedule ler, so tired keep on nursing him in so short interval...

I'm also having blocked ducts and fever, started last night. I called parent craft and they said my milk is still safe for baby to drink. In fact, the best way to clear blocked ducts is to latch baby on because they can clear the blockage more efficiently than a pump. So now I'm taking panadol for my fever and continuing to nurse. Hope it will clear up in the next few days.

Need some of your advice again. I've been pumping milk for my baby as I'm unable to latch her. My supply is about 50ml each time I pumped. I never pump in the middle of the night so I will supplement her with formula milk.

My MIL will be the one taking care of her full-time after I start work. So she has her own method of taking care of baby. She doesn't like me to "spoilt" my baby by carrying her once she crys eps in the day time. Hence my MIL doesn't like me to attend to her everytime she crys. She said she is going to suffer when I start work as she also have to take care of my SIL's baby (8mths old) and her young child (5 years old).

She told me that breastmilk is just like "vitamins" for her, breastmilk are not filling enough for baby. So her method is that every 3hrs, she will feed my baby formula milk (she said formula milk can fend off hunger for longer hours). But sometimes my baby will wake up before 3 hours (due to sudden loud noise made by my niece etc.) So once she wakes up before her feeding time, my MIL will feed her with my breastmilk to satisfy her.

I'm concerned whether my MIL's method will overfeed her or not. I felt that sometimes my baby cries is that she just wanna be carried and cuddled, not because she is hungry. Sign~
 
jowin, how come ur bb onie 6 weeks old n u used so many diff type of diaper brands? I onie using my 2nd pack of Mamy Poko and still got 3/4 left. Could be cos daytime i use nappy and i hv to wash like 10 nappies a day..
jes, when u say cannot go beyond 100ml is for both breast?? mine not better than urs lar..haha onie 120ml. I din start pumping cos this week i was alone wif my boy and cannot predict his time.. one time he could be happily playing on his own then when he see me pumping, he cry for my attention.. so now, i latch him during the day and feed him EBM at nite..so i hv to pump before midnite for his next feed and then pump again early early morning for his next feed..hahaha!! Its like trying to play catching with him. However, his intake abit inconsistent. Yesterday gave him 120ml tinking will last him longer, he woke up 2.5hr later but earlier i feed him 100ml, he slept for 4hrs so amt dun determine the hr he sleep.Kekeke

I also bought 1 dress for CNY from online - maternalove. Its a nursing dress..since not going anywhr and i hv not really slim down to my desired weight, i dun wanna spend $$ buying clothes first.. but i saw Zara having alot of nice clothes leh! tempted
 
Btw, just wondering is it a must to give relatives, friends and colleagues the baby full month cake? Is it appropriate enough to just invite them over for buffet? Will it be rude of us not to give out "full month cake"?

I'm still on total latch-on... my girl's feeding schedule very erratic... usually in the day time, she will feed every 1-3hrs... but at nite she'll feed every 2.3-4 hrs... So i guess I'm lucky... at least I get to sleep for a while... Some nites she'll sleep at 12midnite.. wake up at about 4am and then about 7am..

Breastfeeding is like that one.. somemore I will feed whenever she demands... although I am planning to give her water at nite the week before I start work in march.. if not i will sure die later on...

I'm sure ur boy will get better in time... hopefully by 3rd month everything will get better!! =)

Breastmilk is not like vitamins!! Oh dear.. it is her only source of food... how else did the human race survive for sooo many thousands of years...
Babies feed more frequently cos breastmilk is easily digested... So the stomach gets empty faster... FM is harder to digest.. so babies need to work harder to take in the nutrients from fm (that's why they are full longer)... if u noticed fm has alot of added supplements.. but the amount available for bb is significantly lesser.. breastmilk nothing goes to waste...

FM and EBM.. mothers tend to overfeed... cos the flow of the milk from the bottle is faster than the baby response to fullness.. so they will eat more before they realize they are full.. same for adults...if u eat too fast, u tend to overeat cos the brain has a delay response.. But then again, many pple have lived on FM.. I myself was fed solely on FM and I wasn't an overweight bb.. and I grew up fine.. I think it is matter of preference..

my gf came to my hse & visit me juz now, her gal is 3mths old already & she told me her gal already sleep thru since 6wks, make me so tempted to switch my boy to FM at nite coz now i'm dying for GOOD SLEEP !!!

btw, i realised that these 2 days my boy is drinking lesser, he used to drink 100ml but now always stop at 60-70ml, shouldnt him be drinking more since he's bigger now?? no matter how i 'force' him he oso dun wan to open his mouth, sigh!!!

my boy's had it since he was 4mo, he's now 19mo. We were seeing a specialist at KK but they were quite useless. Finally went to NSC (till now) and there are results

His thick patches are thinning out but the skin is now discoloured cos the steroid cream eats away the skin. Doc at NSC say that over time, the skin will 'blend' back to normal skin colour but this is going to take a long long while.... would hate for him to be made fun of when he finally goes to sch.. haiz..

My baby is such a clean boy jus like his elder brother before him..can only poo when his diaper is removed.. but headache for us. Now when he fusses, we have another item to check. Got to open up his diaper and make poo-straining sounds and wait..normally action will start within 2mins! haha... looking forward to when his head is stronger than on to the potty he goes! Anyone else has such a particular baby?

my boy drank 200ml within 3h two nights ago and was still asking for more but i refused cos afraid that he'd have tummy upset. Today, he just drank 60ml and KO already.. Elders said not to worry becos, even now, babies are trying to establish their own routines. This is their way of trial and error to see what suits them better.. If baby seems comforable and still feeding, all should be ok

i have fever 40+ fever too. and i let my gal drink. its okai to give baby drink. dun stop ya. if you stop u may pass the fever to her.

Yup! im a mamy Poko lover! in my MIL house i use Mamy Poko. At my own house my mum use NTUC brand. cus she thinks mamy poko is expensive. Anyway im going to ask her to change to Mamy Poko liao. Mamy Poko is quite lasting. is better quality that i felt lor of all of the pampers. ya velcro is good. if those sticker it always sticks on my gal -___-

I also use quite alot of diaper leh.. petpet.. fifi. pampers.. dryers.. or whatever cus i have alot of sample so all use! hahha
