Hi fabbie,
usually i latch my boy during nite 10pm till next morning 8am. Then i will pump at 12 noon, 4pm and then 9pm. There are days if i feel beast full i will pump 1 more time and all the timing shift loh. Actually i was lazy suppose to pump after my baby latch. Cos he usually only latch 1 side. But during nite i am too tired liao. Unless the breast very heavy i cant tahan then i will pump once ard 5am.

Ida is good man! I jus had my 1st session of massage w her today.. she cleared my blocked breast.. and gave me a good hard rub.. my whole aching body benefited greatly!!

Jaundice
My bb's jaundice seems to be worse.. one 3rd day, nurse told me its at level 11, gotta go back to hospital tml which is 6th day to monitor her jaundice level

Her eyeballs.. the whitish part also turn yellowish liao.. see oreadi so sad lei!! CL oreadi tried bathing her with Ng Kee water for 2 days liao, sun her ytd too. Can u gals advise wat else can be done??

oh yes, we are planning a two day celebration - 120-150 pax. hubby doesn't want to do in ballroom, he prefers to split our close family & friends/colleagues/churchmates into 5 groups. Gonna be two days of catering - lunch & dinner on sat and lunch/tea/dinner on sun.

The thought of it makes me tired and MIL (coming from KL) is now saying she would like to cook some specialty dishes esp for the two family groups.

The thought of it makes me tired. Now thinking of not inviting my close colleagues. Sigh! Must try to enjoy.

M taking motherlove. seems ok. don't know if the other brand better. m still not having too much milk - 30ml per expressing only.

Lactation nurse at RH said i latch and pump too few times and suggested to have 12 times for a few days to increase milk supply but m too tired. now trying to latch and pump at least 8 times a day and shall try to increase.
 
Ypg, I brought my girl to PD for hep B jab. Haven register her BC yet but still can go for jab. Ya, I rec reminder letter to register bb's bc within 42 days. Thanks..
 
xuelyn: my BB juandice lvl was 16.8 and admited to hospital. but after phototherapy, the lvl drop to 11.5 and was allow to go home. Dr said as long as the lvl dun go up to 15 will b fine. Juz went to checkup this morning, Dr said that BB will have juandice till the 3rd wk. Now wat we shld do is let the BB drink more milk to flush out the toxic. Mrning and evening sun.
 
ladies: those who had bring BB for the Hep B and 5in1 jab how much does it cost in the polyclinic? My PD is charging $440 for the package. Wonder is it very ex?

are u taking the one prescribed by gynae?
i asked my gynae and was given a bottle of 30 caps.. it says fenugreek (motherlove more milk) as a description and it's capsule liquid type..

is it pump/latch = 8 times or pumpANDlatch=8?
i'm thinking of starting to store BM.. so, gonna start pumping.. but now a bit diff coz i think bb's going thru growth spurts.. wanting to feed all the time!

my granny say put 7 reddates in 1 cup and of total of 7cups. "Du" for 2 hrs then pour the remaining water in the 7 cups of reddate together and give it to baby. I did try 2x. My baby juandice went down, From 210 to 160 to 70.
 
sperzz, how come ur poly charges so expensive for 5-in-1?? I m going to a PD in sengkang for 6-in-1 and it is onli $440 including consultation leh.. much more cheaper..

jo, dun stress! Drink more warm fluid.. continue pumping will see ss increasing soon. Say is so much easier hor.. i dunno if mine also decreasing or my bb is having growth spurt..last time 1 breast can satisfy him, now i hv to offer him both breast (30mins each) before he is satisfied..and after tat i will pump out a pathetic 30ml..haha

yeah..tat's the one lor.. i tot is $440 for 6-in-1 and lesser for 5-in-1 ler..

i tink it is best to take jabs at PD for bb since normal GP will not noe how to diagnose for bb..

fabbie, the clinic that my boy goes (the one Sperzz mentioned) has rota as well..all the jabs and immunisation stuff they hv ah..hehe. My hb dun wanna go to TMC if possible cos the parking is a nitemare
 
ok i just check TMC 6 in 1 about 150 each. Rota Virus is about 120 each and theres no package.

Anyone had done in TMC before?

My boy also admitted for phototheraphy on day 10th.
I think if you feel get worse, bring him see doc, usually they will do the blood test. If really high, will have to go for phototheraphy.

Anybody bb on pacifier?? my boy drink 90 plus latch on. Coz me going back to work I cant let him latch on everytime. So my mom asking to put pacifier, is it good idea?? help pls...
 
emeraldbride: u also staying in SK? mi in Anchorvale. the doc said 5-in1 and hep B injection also cost $440. If the same as well go for 6in1. BB got lesser injection

my pc is not my pc when my boi is at home. whenever he see me using it, he will tell me "I 1 2 play game" and he mean he 1 2 play it NOW. sign..

Went to see Dr Toh this morning. Jaundice level down to 7.4. But my gal has milk reflux last nite, keep crying at midnite. Dr Toh prescribed some med to reduce acidity in stomach & stop reflux.
Pei fu u can pump 8 times a day! I’m even struggling to keep up to 3hrs interval.
Btw, noticed your gal has a Jap name, just curious.. are you or hb a Jap?
Initially my hb wanted to give our gal a Jap name – Mie, but I find it funny since neither of us are Jap.

I thot my gal have phlegm bcos of the noisy sound she makes in her throat. But PD said it’s due to milk reflux that she makes those sounds in her throat. Some of the milk may even hv gone up her nose. Not sure if your bb is the same situation.

The HepB jab at polyclinic is $17.50 per jab, need to take 2 jabs. The 5-in-1 pkg is $240.40.
 
Hi ladies, went for my hand theraphy this morning and the therapist shared a very interesting tip.. on how to get babies to sleep thru the night.. Accdg to her, once her babies were 4mo and at healthy weights, she only fed them water whenever they woke at night. then, since water makes them 'bored' they slowly stopped waking at night completely..sleep thru from 9pm to 6am. interesting huh.....

yeah... my mom and mil have been telling me to do that when my girl is older... must train them not to want food at nite if not we'll be in big trouble

i thought it was quite poor thing.. but i guess my hb and i turn out alright... hehe...

anyone knw where can i get cheap milk storage bags. Went kiddy palace the cheapest is "The First Few Years" at $19.90 for 25 bags. So ex. Any one have cheaper recommendation?

my supply not very good lei. I just manage to pump 160ml for both breast lei. And i only pump 3x per day so total is 480ml only. The max so far i can pump is 210ml. At nite i just latch and didnt pump at all. Still thinking must i pump more x to increase the milk.

I just take alot of fluid and fish. For my 1st boy my supply is better. That time i dun latch at all but i pump 4x per day each time can get 300ml loh. That time dunno can store bm and i stop bf after 3 mths when i was back to work. So wasted.

so glad to hear that your bb's jaundice came down. should be fine from now.
that's my gal's middle name. she was conceived in Tokyo when we were there in March 08. Hubby was crazy and jokingly said if it's a boy to call him Roppongi (because we stayed there) and girl girl Sakura or Hana since it was the cherry blossom season.

Masako is a famous medival princess and i hope my bb shall be like her - wise and great strength in spirit. My and hubby love Japan much much and visited different parts at least once a yr. But since pregnancy, was grounded. Now not sure when i get to travel again.

Oh, actually the pumping hurts and today m aiming to pump 5 times only. Milk at 30 ml each time.

Btw do you have any help wi child-care when return to work?

the key to stimulate production is to empty the breast, so if ur bb doesnt nurse vigorously, expressing by pump after each feeding can drain most of the remaining milk...

actually say is easy but do is difficult hor, esp during nite time when we r so tired & wanna grab as more sleeping time as we can...

feeding water during nitetime in order to train them sleep thru?? sounds interesting hor... but when u said only to older bb mean how many mths onwards they should be?

my mom said about 3+mths can start already.. Gill mentioned 4 months.. So i guess around there.. but of course bb must be healthy and have been eating well during the day...

but yeah.. must let the child know that nite time is for sleeping.. if not when toddler.. he/she will ask for milk at nite!! Cannot do!! =)

Carmen: Don't worry about Kasia's poo...Preston now poos only once every 3-4 days. Suddenly when he was about 3 weeks old, he just changed his poo pattern despite no changes in his milk feeds. Imagine the huge "bomb" i have to handle each time he poos now...very stinky! Haha...i checked with my PD & he said it's normal.

On my side...i stopped BF & now Preston is drinking only FM. I fell sick recently & doc told me the EBM must throw away cos of the medication. Before that, i already thought of stopping then i fell sick...so i simply stopped liao. Now am trying to stop my BM SS naturally.

my fren trained her daughter by dragging her feeding hr during nite time from 3rd week onwards, and she was very success on that as her bb able to sleep thru fr 2nd mth onwards... but i would say that it really depend on luck bah, it worked on her doesn;t mean work on every bb...

btw, recently my boy always fuss during feeding time (latch on), dunno why ler and i'm worried he may get used to bottle feeding coz i'm sick (cough badly) these few days so my boy is on bottle feed (EBM) most of the time...

that's why must make sure ur bb healthy and eat well during the day.. and when I say sleep thru the nite.. it only means 5 hrs+.. i dun have any experience.. this is just wat my mom and mil tell me.. and it makes sense cos by 3 mths+ they should be able to sleep for that long w/o food... it's just that some bb are more "demanding" so cannot spoil them by giving them wat they want..

wah ur fren manage to start training from 3rd weeek!! So shiok.. my bb at that age was feeding very 1.5-2hrs!! and now 1 mth I'm hoping things would improve.. yeah it is very bb dependent.. some bb easier to handle.. haiz...

when bb fuss.. sometimes it is cos of either too fast or too slow let-down... maybe nipple confusion.. my bb sometimes fusses too but i realised everytime that happens, she'll start to cough and choke.. and I read somewhere that it is cos of fast let-down and bb cannot handle it.. so wat i do is i lie in bed to feed her so the flow will be slower and she does stop fussing.. did u try to burp her?? or maybe try changing breast??

thanks for the poo info. why im concerned is beos Kasia oso drink FM, not only on EBM. anyway, she din poo again today. will c how tml ba.

anyway, Kasia changed her cranky timing from pm to evening time today (from 6pm+ till now). after feed refused to sleep and kept crying for attention. tml is her 1st mth celebration, my CL said sometimes BB will get cranky 1-2days before 1st mth. wonder if it's true?! =S

some mummies here latch on and still able to pump abt 100ml or more, for me is total EBM, but still so little... feeling so deflated at times. me intend to persist on till 3rd mth. if by then the amt still so miserable, then i think i will let the BM stop naturally. no pt going thru the trouble of EBM when im werking. some more i need to go out and meet clients, time to pump will be really irregular and diff.

Kath, my ss drop till 50ml per breast for today pumping.. pump a few times all 50ml only.. sianz......Supply drop till not enough for baby each feed liao...

I also dunno izit mainly that but previously a few times the milk come out from his nose one when I burp him hard. Dunno izit my wugong too strong on him haha. Think I monitor a few days to see..

after doing some research online, apparently fenugreek is one or main ingredient in motherlove more milk capsule.. i got 60caps (2bottles) for 45.60.. it comes 30/bottle.. yep, got it from gynae..

ya she dragged the feeding time, for example bb feeding time is 3am then she tried to dragged for another 15mins, & slowly increase the timing again at next feeding time & so on... ya bb will cry for milk so ur heart must be 'hard' enough bah... but i oso find a bit difficult la unless ur bb is very ON on the feeding schedule, like for mine sometimes (nite time) the interval is 2.5hr but gd time can drag till 4hrs interval... so really depend on luck !

ya i read from kellymom website that bb fuss could be due to too fast or too slow let-down, i already tried all method that u mentioned.. lying on the bed to feed, changing breast, burp him half way but also don;t help ler... anything else we can do?? haiz...


btw, i brought my boy to PD yest for 1st mth review & the PD prescribed a bottle of colic medicine for my boy coz she said baby will tend to cry more at nite after pass one month wor... i asked her why she said dunno but somehow this will happen!! anyone experience this???
 
need to go 1st mth review with PD?? eh mine didnt mention leh, the last tme we see the PD, the nurse only ask us if want to arrange for the next appt for Bb Jabs...since i'm intending to go to normal GP for the Jabs (cheaper) so I also nv arrange next appt with PD...

Sometimes I try to "prolong" a little longer bwhen bb cry before giving BF him..cos dun want to make it a habit like cry = BF...haiz..but no use leh...seems like cry=BF..tt's the way to get him to stop crying.. we tried giving him the pacifier..but he dun like, throw it out..

yeah i totally undertstand, it's pretty deflating & depressing on the EBM supply..As now is only 1st mth, keeping fingers cross that EBM ss will improve in the next 2 mths....dun get too despire, this is our 1st mth, hopefully next 2 mths will be better

You got drink enough water? Make sure u are adequately hydrated when BFing (either by expressing or latching). Cos ss will drop when u are dehydrated. Oso for mothers expressing milk, ss will drop if u pump less often, similar to not latching ur bb often...

Should be able to? Unless it is a controlled drug. For me, I can still walk in to buy my vit pills and DHA fr gynae w/o seeing him. :p

Sounds like me... can you check the milk that sprays out? If the spray is unusually little. It could be the breast is congested and the ducts are not "spraying" out the milk...

During my consultation at Parentcraft, they massage my areola and nipple area until the milk spray fr ducts which I noted were not "spraying" milk when my ss dropped to all time low... :p

Dun fret. If you worried, do go Parentcraft for help ok?

this review was actually for 4-6wks assessment & to be recorded into bb's health book, not sure if GP will help to do on that or not when u bring ur bb for jabs...

my bb also always cry for milk before next feeding time, but i'm trying (very hard) to fix his rountine to at least 3hrs interval during daytime, nite time i nv control him, i will nurse him whenver he wakes up & cry.. haha, too tired liao, juz wanna quickly feed him & go back to sleep... my bb too always suck for comfort, i oso tried to giv him pacifier but he dun wan... good also la i think
 
snowger, how shuld the spray be?? not all the ducts on our nipple will spray milk out rite?? I will go ask parentcraft next week.. hopefully they will massage it for me..hehe

this morning ss was 170ml but because i din pump or latch since 11pm..sigh
 
haiz.....got a prob here...my confinement is ending next wk, which tt i'm super happy!
So means by CL is leaving next wk ....thing is..these few days & nites, when BB cries & cries, HB & I try to pacify him (carrying him) also to no avail...but when my CL takes over & carry BB, he will be okie...
for me,i suspect its becos i got the "milk smell" so when I carry him, he smells milk & wants milk even thou i may have just fed him let 10mins ago..

how?? next wk my CL going off le..i cant be letting BB latch-on "full time" to stop him fm crying...

i'm bringin my boi for the 6-in-1 which is during 1.5mth to 2mths...mmm this shd count as the 4-6wks assessment? Ur 4-6 wk assesment arrange by ur PD?

Oh i also hv been nursing baby to sleep via BF..but i just read an article this morn, saying we shdnt make nursing to sleep a habit..if not difficult for us next time..

Ya I think bb suck for comfort..thou i dun want BB to get addicited to pacifier, but i also dun want him to get addicited to by breast!! oso he's also starting to suck him hands sometimes..so we rather he suck the pacificer (easier to get break the habit nx time), then him sucking his hands..

ya sucking pacifier is better than sucking our breast (for comfort) & their tumb, although i was quite reluctant at the first place coz my elder son only managed to get rid of pacifier when he was 2YO plus...

Jess: That's what i'm trying to do for Preston now. Train him to sleep "through" the night but dragging his night feeds but not easy. Daytime is ok cos he's like clockwork -- drink every 3 hours! Currently at night, the longest stretch he has gone between feeds is only 3.5 hours.


Pastillies: Preston did his 4-6 weeks assessment the other day when i brought him to see the PD regarding his heavy breathing. My PD said i could also choose to have the assessment done during his 6-in-1 jab but i decided to just go ahead first.

I agree...suck pacifier is better than sucking fingers!
