My function room can only be booked based on either a morning or afternoon slot and in order to get a full day slot, I need to book 2 sessions lor. Initailly I wanted to book just one slot (morning) but some mummies got to work and may come late it makes more sense to just keep the full day slot for longer fun time rather than having to clear the place by 4pm sharp.

hi mummies,

i'm back from M'sia after 2 weeks+ there, now only i know tat i can buy cheap 'branded' baby clothes (baby gap, old navy, carters etc) there like from factory outlet store... and the price is sometimes so much cheaper than we buy from BP, e.g i've got 3 sleepsuit for only SGD10+... anyway i didn't really buy a lot coz mostly are for baby gal, sigh!

i trained my boy to sleep thru coz i dun hav the luck of having a baby tat can auto sleep thru... hehe! wat i did are...
- feed him with water (but i only did it for 1st 2-3 nites)
- giv pacifier (but sometimes he dun wan)
- let him cry
now he can sleep from 9pm & wake up between 5am-7am... sometimes he still wake up once but i realised tat if i giv in (by feeding him), he will tend to wake up at the same timing at the following few nites, so better dun giv in else got to re-train again... so this is my way...

my boi also likes to sleep in that position. When i put him on his back, he will stretch into that position. Think maybe trying to flip. So what i do is put those newborn pillow with a hole in centre so that he will slp on his back.

I dun know wat food i ate leh.. Maybe is Tuna pie.. or Fish & chip cos i puke them out...

The rashes seem to subside.. i m controlling not to scratch..

I called TMC 24hrs clinic this morning.. They said its ok to BF.. as long as it not virus.. Food allergy will not pass to baby.
 
Jowinbaby, just go to any clinic. They'll give you calamine lotion for the hives. Think heat and water aggravates the condition. The other time I had hives, I just wipe myself down and apply the calamine lotion prescribed by my doc. The hives went away within 24 hours.

Its been a long long time that i have this already...The hives came back on n off..i try not to scratch it. the more i scratch.. the more it came..
 
For those of you who are on EBM, what do you do when you go out? How do you transport your milk and warm it up?

My husband is on leave next week and he might want to bring our girl out. So far, whenever she goes out for long trips, it will be with me, so I will latch her. So I don't know what to do with the EBM if someone else is bringing her out.

echo, I placed my bottles of ebm in a cooler bag w ice pack. When bb wants to drink, will warm the ebm using the hot water from the hot flask. Also will bring a cup to hold the bottle of ebm.

Also can use bottle warmer.

i apply the calamine lotion till body all white white...

how much do u all feed ur babies? currently im giving abt 150ml. Ryan's drinking has extended to 4-5 hour intervals. and he's 7.5kg. should i increase? nowadays cant really force him to drink. he choose how much and when he wants to drink. Hence he wasted alot of milk! sometimes he drinks 90ml, sometimes 120, good mood 150ml. sometimes after 150ml he still wants more. This varies within a day. When he drinks alot, the next thing is he puke out alot too. Asked PD about it and the stupid PD says just let baby decide.

feeding cereals
when do we start introducing cereals into their milk? 4mths? what brand is good? im thinking of getting those organic cereals.
 
mayelynn, ur PD is right.. let the baby decide how much they wanna drink. Each time i feed zach with FM is 120ml he will finish the whole thing..not one drop left. So today I increase to 150ml..he oso take 120ml onie n i throw away 30ml! For BM i dunno how much he take but i reckon is more than 120ml cos I usually let him clear my breast till when I squeeze with hand, no milk will spray out..haha.

Jowin, ur lotion oso applied to ur breast area??

Introducing solid - best to check with PD. Read that as long as baby can sit up unsupported, no more tongue thrusting and show interest in our food, they are kinda ready but not good to intro too early cos will increase chances of allergies in bb.

I forget to bring back my EBM from my ow house to my mum house.. if not, i can bottle feed her with my EBM. Pump out also too late.. her feeding time...

my PD teach me... use her weight X 4 divided by her no. of feed.

example: 7.5kg X 4 = 30oz divided by 6 feeds = 5oz
therefore, as a guideline.. ur baby shd be taking 5oz.. If he is on EBM, PD said its ok to have alittle more... on demand basis...

mayelynn, ytd i went amk ntuc n bought friso rice cereal cream for gerard and dun need to add milk cos it is added in. I will start feeding him cereal when he is 4 mths which is next week n see if he able to eat, if he puke out ..means he is still not ready to wean, based on wat i read from book
 
anyone has any job lobang in terms of areas like admin &amp; secretary, do let me know... i think i will start to slowly find a job. my current job is 5.5 days week, and my boss doesn't like to let me go on leave or like the idea that i have to go sharp sharp to collect baby. so i'm hoping for somewhere more pro-family, 5 days work week. nm abt the pay. i think my this job hunt can start now and may stretch until next year, looking at how bad economy is...

LuthAdel - i see. can decide which slot to choose, coz i work on Sat... but seems like more pple going for the earlier slot.

echo - last time when i still have EBM, i have this bag with cold gel pack which can store EBM and i bring a hot water flask, those with cup as cap one. so when needed just soak with hot water, change water twice. but the thing is cold gel pack can melt by 2 hrs. i don't know whether it works if have more cold gel packs.

mayelynn - my baby's diet plan fails. Dr actually wants us to reduce his feed to 120ml, but he keep crying for more after the feed. so we got him back to 150ml water + 5 scoop powder. he is still feeding every 2.5 hr in day time, hopefully can stretch to 3hrs soon.

echo, when I bought the Avent steriliser, it comes w a thermal bag that can keep thgs warm or cold for 4hrs, u can consider getting tt. but it's a bit small, can only hold 2 bottles.

mayelynn, my boy takes 7 feeds of 150ml. but last 2 days realised he like nt very hungry at 3hrly interval, n also puked a bit of milk after his feed. Maybe he doesnt need to drink so often liao.. thk will wait for him to cry then feed him see how

btw, my CL teaches me to use half a scoop of powder less ie 150ml water to 4.5scoop of milk powder so that it's less heaty for bb. I m still doing that, is tt common &amp; ok? Just realise like nt alot of pple practice tt, hope I havent been underfeeding my boy..

usually pd suggest start cereal at 6mths. Only start at 4mths if bb is not drinking milk well. For my 1st boy i start at 4 mths cos his milk intake is very bad. He dun like to drink milk one loh. All along his max intake is 6oz lei and he is already 3yrs old.

I heard that Friso and Nestle rice cereal cream very sweet so i didnt give these brand. Dun wan my kid to take too sweet from the start.

reg ur fong mo.. better avoid seafood.. as in prawns n sotong n crabs. I use to haf tat. U can try warming some white rice wine n applying on ur fong mo patches.. it'll help ease the itch..

Anyone know how long the EBM can tahan if i express at work and put inside the bottle bag w an ice pack? will it spoilt at the end of the day which is at least 6 hours lata? do i need to put it inside the fridge? I got no fridge in office.. so headache..

Those mummies who pump at work.. hw did u do it? pls advise..

I think I will bring my bb to see PD, see what PD says about her milk intake. So far she's been drinking abt 100ml and even 135ml sometimes. Then starting last week she decided to drink oni 85ml - 90ml each time and wake up at 5am instead of 7am! :'( so sad... Wonder if she dun like my milk. Makes me wanna give up pumping...

For me, I bring a feed or two out using the cooler bag PISA has. The milk is kept cool with the blue brick. As for warming of milk, I use a cup with boiling water. Usually I lazy to bring boiling water. I get water fr coffeshops (cost me 20-30cents) or restaurant (foc, if i so happen to be dining at one).

a/c to the PISA book, the blue brick can only last from 2-4hrs aft u take it out from your freezer. It's btr to put in fridge. If no fridge, can get those mini fridge (something like that http://www.officedepot.com/textSearch.do?uniqueSearchFlag=true&amp;Ntt=708356&amp;x=0&amp;y=0) to put at ur workstation? Though it's not as cold as the normal frige but I think it can cool ur milk btr than the brick...

Talking abt mini fridge, anyone wans to buy second hand one? i got (but not the one in the link la)!!! *haha*

I did my detailed scan when I was wk 19, 3days. Detailed scan uses the percentile method. Hence if the important measurements fall within the normal percentile, then shld be ok. so whether wk 19 or 20 doesn't matter.

I only have one cooler bag and one ice brick. If hubby wants to bring Emma out when he's on leave and I'm at work, then the cooler bag and icebrick will with me at work.

I have all those so-called thermal bottle holders that came with the diaper bags - can those be used for anything?

thanks.. i dun know why.. till morning time, the rashes subside. I applied calamine lotion till i fedup cos its smelly and powdery.. i cannot carry my baby as she nowadays keep sucking here n there...she might accidentally suck my hands / arms.. Plus the white powdery dry up n worsen my eczema...

I bathe early this morning n applied Gaia smoothing cream instead.. not sure is it bcos of the smoothing cream.. my rashes all subside...HOPE NO MORE RASHES again...

I dun dare to take any med. cos i scare cannot breastfeed her...throw away my EBM... wasted..

juz now during lunch my hb suggested that he wanna quit his job and be a house husband and I continue my job. We're both worried that when I start work, I will be super super busy and may neglect baby.. hb is always on 24x7 and he worked till this morning because of project roll out and now went back to work and will come back onie tmr morning.. sigh

me also thinking of quitting my job leh..Coz although got MIL n maid to take care of bb I still not at ease. Coz the other day brought her to eat buffet. Randall keep looking at our food n guess what? My MIL say can give him a little meat to test test. OMg...I quickly tell her cannot..wait he choked. She say won't.. Then when Randall cry she scolded him hokkien 'TIAM' n say want to beat his backside. Now I so sian..I think I trust the maid more than her now..
