Can i ask ya, u apply the olive oil on ur bb head rite? How do u apply huh? do u use cotton wool or bud huh? cos i felt like my bb head top still very soft, not fully harden yet..dare not apply too hard on it..btw, my gal oso got mild cradle cap on her head too..

ok, then i will use my fingers/hands to gently massage her head for the hair growth..but for the cradle cap, im using cotton bud to apply leh, cos i tink if i use fingers, only the hair will kana the oil n not the scalp..n i scare scare to apply too hard cos her head top has not harden yet, so when i apply using the bud, oso must be gentle..

don't worry about the excess lipase. if your girl will take it, then it should be okay. but if it bothers her, you can try scalding the milk after pumping. quite troublesome, but it will stop the lipase from reacting with the milk. basically you heat the milk until some small bubbles appear, but before it comes to a boil. you can google for more info on how to do this.
pumping at work
Right now my girl wants to eat every 2-3 hours, so I will also try to do the same when i'm at work. I've been keeping a log of my baby's feeds and she eats about 5 times between 8am-7pm, so I hope to find time to pump that many times when I'm at work. There is a website that I found to be useful when thinking about pumping when at work: http://www.workandpump.com/ Got good tips on managing working, pumping and latching.
don't worry about the excess lipase. if your girl will take it, then it should be okay. but if it bothers her, you can try scalding the milk after pumping. quite troublesome, but it will stop the lipase from reacting with the milk. basically you heat the milk until some small bubbles appear, but before it comes to a boil. you can google for more info on how to do this.

This Aquarium is a swing leh. i tout a rocker.. she still fuss alot just now.. morning wah.. cry n cry till my nerves is up there.. arghz.. very tough. my frd told me maybe is colic. haiz..
so if i put my milk in the fridge.. then when i go home can i freeze it? if im not enough bottles? cus if i fridge it.. meaning i got to bring likr 4 to 6 bottles.. cus i very scare i OT sia!

Yeah update me! my gal now then i realise alot of hair drop off.. when i saw alot of hairs on her rocker. - if you say air carrier is hot then my orginial is even hotter lor but so far okai lar! i have tried bbpearl AIR carrier like no difference. One thing i perfer orgirinal cus its cusion i find it comfotable. Air got alot of holes it makes me feel so pokey hehe

i think is swing better! i got a SWing which sam recommend for my IN law house and i got a FIsher Price Smart Stages 3 in 1 which intro by bubblepearl! this one quite good leh. can sit till old. i recommend to pooh too and she buy it. If you want i can intro u one buyer. but her's is without a toy bar. cus she's spoil. Let me know ba.

fabbie, to ask if the black patches is thr must ask the one that bathe ur baby everyday. If u bathe her, u would notice it when u wash her back rite?? Some babies have it..like birth mark lor

this is the Fisher-Price bouncer .. we don't have this particular design here btw .. but the bouncers can be used till baby is 11.3kg. It's different from a rocker which rocks just a rocking chair .. this bouncer is like those old fashioned netted bouncers .. this one just more high tech lol .. but same concept la ... when baby kicks, the bouncer bounces up and down ..
This is the Fisher-Price Open Top swing ... also can be used from birth up to 11.3kg. They don't have this design here too ..
This is the rocker that fabbie has .. (I think the design may be different la) ... can be used till baby is 40 pounds (that's why it's called infant to toddler rocker mah) ..

The fresh milk has no smell...or at least not too strong a smell.. but the frozen mik smells like cod liver oil!! At first I thought spoilt but cannot be wat.. only frozen for about a month!! How can.. then i courageously tried it to make sure not sour.. it is not lor... taste sweet with fishy taste.. which i totally not like!! but i thought let my girl try and she took it willingly...

I read that some of you have babies who keep waking up for feeds during the night. I just want to share that I've been following the method mentioned in the book "On becoming baby wise" and my baby has started doing 6-7 hours betw feeds since she was 6 wks old.
She's now 10 wks old and she'll sleep at about 8-ish (after her last feed) and wakes up abt 4-5am for her feed. So I do get quite a bit of sleep although I still need to wake up at midnight to pump once. My baby is on TBF.
The method mentioned in the book is quite simple. You just have to follow the 2-3 hour routine of feed-play-sleep in the day, in that particular sequence. I think many babies prefer to feed and then sleep immediately though..For me I have that problem too, so I usually have to wake her up to play
Now she's used to it and know that I won't allow her to sleep after her feed..haha..

Thanks for your input. Even though I didn't read the book, I have been following the eat-play-sleep routine with my girl, and it does seem to work for her. During the day, she hardly ever sleeps after eating. Every 2-3 hours, I will nurse her for 45 mins, then she will play for 15-20 mins, and then sleep for about an hour. At night, she can sleep for a stretch of 4-6 hours. She will go to sleep at about 8 or 9pm, then I will try to wake her for a last feed at 12. After that there will just be one more feed at about 4am before she wakes up at 7am.

Swing: I got the one that fabbie post, 3 in 1 so i can use it after he weigh over 13kg..as a rocker lor..then when he grown bigger..use as a toddler seat..keke..i bought the 2nd hand one..for $50

cannot la. where got rocker that can rock itself? Swing then got auto lor. rocker don have ... BUT .. the rocker that I have ... my MacLaren one can switch on this vibration mode ... the whole rocker won't shake la .. just that there's vibration that the baby can feel while sitting there ..

i oso tink i hv blocked ducts..the right side on my left breast is so painful! I feel like fainting..even standing up oso pain..now the worse thing is i m in Klang and dunno whr can i find lactation consultant.. :'(

the routine actually sets the stage for "parental-direct feeding", which is the philosophy advocated by the book. In simple term, it means we as parents decide when the baby should feed, play and sleep..with some flexibility at certain times. This is in contrast with feed on demand, where you let your baby decide when she wants to feed, etc.
So yes, you may want to try the routine during the day and somehow, and I'm not sure why, baby will sleep through For night feeding, just omit the play part.

I used to wake her up at midnight for feeding too, until my pd said no need, as she's growing quite well. So perhaps you want to try not waking her up and let her wake up on her own for midnight feeding?
My schedule is similar to yours. Sleep at 8+, wake up at 4-5am for feed and 7am for the "actual" morning wake up. I'm hoping to eliminate the 4-5am feed..haha..

In simple term, it means we as parents decide when the baby should feed, play and sleep..with some flexibility at certain times. This is in contrast with feed on demand, where you let your baby decide when she wants to feed, etc.
So yes, you may want to try the routine during the day and somehow, and I'm not sure why, baby will sleep through
For night feeding, just omit the play part. Echo,
I used to wake her up at midnight for feeding too, until my pd said no need, as she's growing quite well. So perhaps you want to try not waking her up and let her wake up on her own for midnight feeding?
My schedule is similar to yours. Sleep at 8+, wake up at 4-5am for feed and 7am for the "actual" morning wake up. I'm hoping to eliminate the 4-5am feed..haha..

Of late my gal has been passing watery toffee color stools. Wonder is it normal? or is she having diarrhoea. Currently, I breastfeed and formula feed her. Any of your bb experience this before?

My elder daughter had her ears pierced when she was 5yrs old and she was frightened by the whole process So maybe there's advantage of doing it early while they're baby - still blur blur, don't know anything But I don't think I will have it done so soon for my baby girl.

From what I've read on kellymom.com, it takes 95 mins for half the nicotine you inhale to get out of your body. So I would assume at least 3 hours to get all the nicotine out? Mummies with blocked ducts...
I'm from Oct 2008 thread and happens to read that some of you have blocked ducts. Just to share what I've experienced. About a month back I woke up with very very sore left breast, very painful to touch, can feel and see lots of lumps...tried my best to massage it and express but it was of no use...laid back on my bed and continued massaging the rock hard breast till I got sudden urge to 'look around' my nipple...that's when I discover a small white 'spot', I tried to scratch it away and VOILA! Milk started flowing out like tap running and the lumps disappeared one by one...I used up more than 10 pieces of tissues to curb the flow before my boy wakes up to 'help' me out...
So from then onwards, I'll locate 'white spots' on my nipples before fretting as like some of you here I also paid to visit a lactation consultant for blocked ducts during the 1st month of bf-ing...hope my little experience helps!

Btw, does anyone of ur bb get startled easily nowsaday? My boi get startled v easy this week..this morning..before his daddy went to work..while i was burping him..his daddy come n stand in front of him..and suddenly do a Ta da pose..he jump up..n just now when i was talking to my dad..i was hugging him..he also jump..i am trying to give him "Jin Feng" powder now..Is it better to swaddle him since he got startled so easily?
