my gal is a biter also lei.. e older tod my MIL looking aft already biten by my gal a # of times liao... but no matter how we lecture and warn her, she stil bites.. It happens always when they snatching or refuse to share toys.. I feel v paiseh but other than trying to keep close watch on them, if e kid doens't listen there's nothing much we can do cos it can b so quick that by time u say stop and take her away she already bite le.. Esp in child care where there're only 1 or 2 teachers taking care of a group of kids.. they may not be in time to stop e biting unless they're v close jus besides e biter..
 
last nite i finally remm to spot check e freezer and found 4 tiny tubs of icecream in the freezer. Angryz... MIL doesn't listen at all.. like Jo's... So in e end at 12+am wee hr, i ate up 2 of them.. then hid e other 2 behind some other stuffs...
This morning, my MIL mentioned again abt my gal always asking for icecream i told her straightaway i've eaten all in e freezer. She said i eat liao then she buy again lor! piangz.. teach her how to reject my gal's request then she say she'll try lor.. Haiz.. see hw it goes la.. tonight stil need to finish up e remaining hidden tubs

Wah ur MIL hor ... never think of it .. everyday little bit ... accumulate how much in Asta body ... *touchwood* but like tt kid will get sick one leh.

I think if u really want to bf, you should invest in a good pump ... then sell away as second-hand, you still can get cashback!

Dun b like mi, got a manual pump and eventually gave up breastfeeding within one mth.

Ur mil sounds like my parents when they took care of my boy. "Give a little bit never mind". Give soft drinks, vitagen, biscults, tibits etc. I don't like giving soft drinks and biscults(a bit ok but not alot).
My sil also give my son anything, tibits, ice-cream, soft drinks etc. I tell her off. If he is sick, I am the one who kena all the crying whenever my boy is sick and not them! Luckily, I had sent my boy to ccc. Phew!

HFMD in CCC,
My son's CCC had a notice board outside the gate, they will update in the letter sticking there whenever they had x HFMD cases. According to them, they never closed the cc due to HFMD. I think they had to close the centre when they reach x no. of cases or a certain percentage of the total children.

Jo: I think manula pump only useful when going out, I used a electric one at home..one time already spend 15 mins..
 
Hello mummies .. it's Friday!

Need your advice ... my boy tends to cough abit only in the morning when he wakes up .. if I'm nt wrong, its jus dry cough and I guess its bcos he sleeps in the aircon and too dry for him. But think MIL and hb see him cough in the morning only gave him cough syrup for the whole day which I dun think its necessary.

Good morning!

If u r concerned with the dry air generated by the aircon, try placing a small mug of water in the room.
U ask your MIL to refrain from giving him the cough syrup n see if the cough goes away or not? Anyway, most cough mixtures, though harmless if used in moderation, did not go through clinical trials for children below 2. So we don't know if there will be any side effects in the long run. In my case, I avoid giving my gals any cough or flu medicine. Maybe u try giving him nan xin bei xin drink to soothe his throat?

RCB: not to say i want to create a big fuss but if happened twice already & teacher stil not bothered then something funny. i think if it really does happen again (hope not), u really need to inform the principal.

ah nut: do girls have a higher propensity towards biting? my R is also a biter. of my 3 boys, only L bites & a lot less than R now. the other 2 just get bitten.

wat cough syrup did ur MIL gave to lucas? I tot there is no cough syrup for tods? basically for tods, only ventolin (salbutamol etc) is available. they can;t take like adult type of cough syrup. That was what 2 different PDs told me.

if it is dry cough then no need to give the phelgm medicine correct? guess if given by PDs, should be ok...juz make sure not given by GPs.

For few mornings, he only cough in the morning but they instruct the maid to feed him cough syrup three times a day loh. Dunnoe whether this is helping him or giving trouble. Cos I'm afraid there will be one day he really cough badly *touchwood* and those normal cough mixture does not help him anymore and needs to depend on ventolin.
 
Jo, if it is only dry cough in the morning, then no need give cough mixture bah... Since its wkend soon, u dun give Lucas t mixture for t next 2 days and see if any difference.

hhmm...if it is not really cough due to infection, dun give med. coz sometimes could be juz throat itchy due to dryness etc...juz cough cough abit...

can ask ur MIL to just monitor for half a day first. if really keep coughing, then maybe really kenna infection...then perhaps can give tebutaline or salbutamol (ventolin)
 
Jo: Is it doctor prescription, would need to follow through the instructions, which is usually at least twice a day for faster results. Sometimes if not given religiously, end up with cold and sore throat.

Cough is also normally derived from a cold. Because the nasal is blocked.
 
cough syrup have prospan.. Trysten taking it now.. but 4 nights he slp halfway &amp; puke ev ting out... haiz... ev night been changing either his mattress cover or mine!

poor ting.. if still dont recover. i gonna bring him to see TCM liao...
 
Oh no.. poor T.. vomit for last 4 nites? In e meantime, pls check ur room temp.. try not to b too cold.. was telling Jo try to keep it at 26dc.. e PD i go to recommend this temp for small kids..

If its only early morning and for a little while, no need giv cough med la.. Tot short dry cough is like an indication tt his cough is recovering? At e end of my cough i always get these itchy dry cough..

my room temp about 23-24 leh. i tink it's not so cold already.. plus my aircon more than 5 yo. surely not as cold already. put 26 sure v hot leh. haa. i maybe try tonight.. my mil actually suggest let him slp non aircon.. but i scare fever go sky high..

karen: congrats..boys normally adapy rather well, i've seen many of my gal ex classmagtes done many are boys, my gal dislike school and cannot adapt. I have since pulled her out..will wait till 3 or 4 and see how.

onsangsg: My gal now takes rice with my daily soups, can be any type of clear soups. She takes fish, chicken, basically food adults eat I don't have a special meal for her.

When going out, ie: go food court, If i take fish noodle she will consume some of it, I eat chicken rice then she'll eat some of it, i think like tat my life will be easier...hehehe...

thanks, Soho for tips on menu. looks like i need to first train my bb to chew, right? she's too used to swallow mushy porridge. i wanted to let her eat adult food but my mum always put too much of salt, soy sauce when cooking which is unhealthy for a young toddler below 2 yrs old leh..if i steam everything, bb also feel sian and tasteless..maybe, i start with mashing up boiled spaghetti or soaked bread with steam egg for her to try lor..
