how's ur kid's attention span? stil short or getting much longer..??
These few days with gal 24/7 i found her attention span is stil v v short.. she can take out a box of toys.. touch touch a few toys for a little while and wan to open another box.. this jus goes on & on.. Book e same.. be it a reading or activity book, jus a little while she wans to turn e page or take another book le..
Tot their attention shd b getting longer?? but mine like shorter leh... -_- haiz....

so late u gonna vacuum? Oh my. I remember those days wen i was preg and i had to scrub the toilet and wash and iron clothes. I duno where i got the energy to do tt. Nw come to think abt it, its very tiring. Imagine comin hm from work at 12, wash up and then iron clothes till ard 2am. Sianz. Now i realli count my blessings. Everyday wit my maid i happy liao i dun expect a lot from her cos i dun wan to do the hsework. Kekeke.

ur hub and u fight cos of $? To me its normal cos all of us still young (ahem), then we got so many things to pay...hse, car, the kids expenses. Its realli a lot. Bo pian. I find main thing we always want to give the best for our child

now i very sian cos i wanted to buy a nice bag for myself since like last yr but everytime there's bound to b something tt i have to pay and everytime i think abt letting go of the $ wen i can use it for say car, my kids pampers etc, i have stop myself from buyin. Guess mindset has changed ever since got kid. Now got two mouths to feed so i thinkin twice again.

Nut u wanna try giving her color pencils or crayons to draw? My gal will draw or scribble on the drawing block for a long time. She used to take my eyebrow pencil and draw on my parquet floor. Tt got me to buy her drawing block and crayons and she loves it. Will even forget tt she's hungry and will juz focus like ard half an hour. Hehe

missed u all for so many days. actually only 2. haha.

yesterday's topic was driving? i must b the oldest driver here. i've had my license since 1991, almost 20 yrs. also from bbdc. drove a bit to school then after tt stopped till i went to work in natsteel then i got an old car. how i loved my honda civic. now i'm trying to get my dad to buy a honda freed.

jes: u drive around a lot now har? bring V to my house & play lah. if ah lian adventurous enough, can bring kayla by train then i pick them up from paya lebar

moomum, nut: i think ur concerns r not unfounded. always better to go check. not to scare u both but i also worried cos after his GI cut last mth, gerard is still not back to his normal self. still doesn't talk much. even when R, L quarrelling the house down, he's still playing in a corner by himself, won't even lift his head up to c. i'm bringing him back to his PD @ KKH next week. in fact all 3 going for long over due follow up so i'll c what the doc says.

i wonder how darlest is now.

Nut, ya Issac is like that too he will flip books awhile then play ball, pull out toys ride his scooter watch tv. all this in a short span of fifteen mins. normal i thought.

Lian, work till so late? Must take care. you craving for Ba ku teh so early? i feel like ramen today.

Jo, if i watch tv and don't play with Issac he will keep calling me and pulling me. He don't like to share attention with the tv.

Was home late yesterday and didn't get to c Issac before he sleep than in the middle of the night i attend to him he told me "mommy go out" sigh... are your toddlers like that too? Do they get angry easily? mine has become v violent when he is angry he will throw things at us...

my kid down with fever for two consecutive week.
Last week, fever fm mon to wed. this week, tue,wed & last night fever again. this morning, 5am woke up and his temp is 39.7 degrees. Luckily after i sponged and feed him medicines, his fever finally went off. Now I'm so sleepy.

My kid screams when he's angry and he can scream on and on.

Jo, Lian,Karen, I don't know if that is call the terrible 2 bt yes he got v bad temper i tried hitting his hand when he throw things bt that didn't stop him he will just cry and then kick up a big fuss and he can cry non stop until he nearly throw up... Anyway my hb say actually it is nt good to hit his hand cause that is the same hand that i will use to sayang him. later he will be confuse and scare if i raise my hand... my mom say it is nt good to hit him nw cause he is still young and don't knw right from wrong and she doesn't hit him when he throw things at her! she just tell him off can not... tsk tsk... the grandma spoil him quite badly also.. tell me can't let him cry too much also later will have too much wind in his tummy..
maybe u all can help me think of a better way to pls everyone.

When i beat K in front of my mum hor, she will say 'orh bi gut'. hehehe But my K dun give a damn. If she knows she's in t wrong she will happily give me her hand to beat.
Every kids is different la, thus parenting method oso shd b different.

ya perhaps you can choose the following options:
1. Ignore him when he throws things
2. Beat him and tell him its wrong to throw
3. Put him in a naughty corner ( sometimes i lock my kid in a room for 5-10mins)
4. Look at him sternly but tell him its wrong to throw object
5. Any other methods or combination of the above ;)

Tink J3 is also starting on her terrible twos leh. Lately if she can't get her way, she will throw herself on the ground and scream, kick, cry and yell till she gets her way. If we beat her, lagi worse cos she will scream and cry even louder. Haiz.... pek chek. Already told my dad n mom not to spoi her, but falling on deaf ears. *aarrgghh*

Naughty corner does not work for J3, she will not stay put there. End up she will be running about. *faintz* Sometimes ignoring her works... all the other methods dun work leh. Cos it only aggravates the situation. Tink cos she is the baby of the family.... she is way too spoilt liaoz. But hard to control cos the grandpa and grandma are main caregivers.

How about waiting till your birthday or christmas to get the bag? Or better still, get your hub to buy it for you and say it's for birthday cum x'mas gift combined? Tat's what I do lah... then I'll also comfort myself that I deserve to pamper myself with something nice (once awhile) cos it's tough being a mommy.
 
3Jems, high5 Issac does exactly the same thing as J3! will lie on the floor n cry n yell. naughty corner no use he will stay there and cry his lungs out. we tell him can not throw he repeat after you cannot throw bt he still throw than he will chuckle!

tink it's all starting for our kids. i guess every kid has their own ways to vent their anger & frustrations. my gal dun throw things, last time she will beat me sometimes, then lately i noticed she "self-abuse" by pulling her own hair and slapping her own face. how ah? i dun know how to tackle this.

oh, and she seems to be drinking lots of milk lately. just yday evening after dinner, she asked for milk 3x - 7pm, 9pm then 10pm, each feed ard 100-120ml. and not to mention she oso ate some bread & biscuits in between... normal meh?
 
kiki: set a routine for maid from start, then she'll know thats her responsibility and is a MUST DO. Else next time ask her do she will feel it is an added task.

triangle: Don't be scared, ask hubby teach better cos can teach daily. if instructor limited time and spend $$. I remembered 2 years ago i was like u...and asked mummies here who gave me lots of encouragement and tips. I did not drive for like 10-11 yrs after passing wor! Now I am driving for 2 yrs liao..time flies. Being able to drive myself enables me to do things and help out and not so dependant on busy hubby...

hahahaha... ^5! J3 will not repeat what I say, but rather she will scold me 'natughty' instead. Then she will run to her grandpa/grandma... pretend to cry even louder (even though I never beat her), then point at me and keep saying :'naughty... naughty'. Haiyohz... sometimes feel like laughing but need to control cos dun want to encourage the bad behaviour leh.

^5 also leh... dunno where J3 learn from, she will slap her own face when she's super frustrated. When we tell her cannot, she will scold us 'naughty' instead. chamz leh... seems like her terrible twos is worse then her jie-jies.

I agree... I like the independance of being able to drive. No need to rely on hub to send me around. Then on days when he bad mood and drives horribly, I will yell at him to get out and I will take over the driving instead. hehehehhe...
 
3Jems: Ya. I remembered relying on him for 10 years also quite unfair for him moreover sometimes so bz still have to fetch me everywhere+ now with a kid. And taxi so expensive so definitely better to be driving.
 
Last nite I applied CB cream on Lucas forehead cos there is a scratch. Then I cover tight the bottle with the cap. But Lucas insist he wans to apply the cream himself and I refused to ... and while he was sitting on my lap, he cried .. and lean on my body (which he always do so) .. then HERE COMES THE SUPER GRANDMA TO THE RESCUE loh! When he saw her, he even tried to cry more cham but stopped after awhile. His cries are usually no longer than 5mins.

I guess u need the soft approach right before u know he dun get things his way and lie on the floor and wail. Maybe immediately carry him to somewhere else and talk to him then distract him with something else?

Usually I tried to ask Lucas to say byebye to whatever he seems unwilling to let go of and he seems fine. But when he is tired or feeling moody, he will cry like last nite.

Putting him in MyFirstSkool, the cheapest so far. The most important thing is that the deposit I can use CDA account to pay, therefore less upfront payment of cash.

Actually, I prefer another school YWCA but the vacancy will only be next year Jan. I guess I shall try him at MyFirstSkool and decide later whether to tfr him out next year or not.

My J is in CC nw...Yes, most of the kids will get sick easily after gg to CC. When my J just went in for abt 2 wks he was sick for 1 n a half mths.

The CC that I'm enrolling him happens to have one boy who tried to pull my boy's hair and beat his chest when I'm there. Dunno and I "song yang lu hu kou" or not (sending my little lamb to tiger's den) ;)
 
My boy learns it when he saw a boy crying and lying on the floor in one of the shopping centre. Immediately, the next day at home, he does it when he dun get what he wants!

I have withdrew out from my first skool.. though my gla was there since infant care days at 6mths old... the CC was really bad and headache... my gal was hospitalised twice and long stay.. had problem with management.. anyway, just that branch la, not all e same..

Cos i can't sleep!! haha..so i juz laze ard and surf lor..after tt shortly i slept, then kena woke up at 3.30am cos my gal want to drink..then at 6am woke up again cos she wans to drink again..
now she juz slept at nearly 12..kept wanting to drink..my hub and i suspect her food like not enuff liao..but its so tough for her to finish up her lunch and dinner..takes like nearly 2 hours!! gonna speak to my mum abt this, see wat we can arrange for her cos she doesnt like rice, still want porridge which can make her hungry easily.

the bag tt ive been wanting is LV wor...hahaha...but i budget myself to coach or kate spade..at first want KS, now i want coach. Juz wanna haf a nice bb bag lor...yahlah, now goin to be hari raya mah so wan nice nice...hehe..already splurge on matching baju kurung for nia and myself..so cute..tt one both cost like $300 plus and tt's only one set, still havent get two more, but will be cheaper lah..so now wanna buy bag like think twice lor..but nice bag for hari raya would b ideal ah...hehe..

cleaning the hse
my hub can clean but the cleanliness is not up to my standard one..i will always b like, see u miss this spot until i told him, aiya mite as well i do man..end up quarrel cos he find me fussy..different lah, guys are not clean unless they are gay...wahaha...
but for my maid, i keep quiet one, my mum will tell her. i told my mum, i wun say if not she will get confuse so better my mum will say. so far so gd..touch wood.
