after the fever episode.. T now down with running nose & cough since yday.. .. haiz.. btw it's not cos of the cod fish liver oil.. lucky GP did give cough syrup in case.. if still unwell by this two days, probably i send him see chinese sinseh le...

babyzel,
i am really nervous about weaning my girl now coz she asks for "nin nin" every morning when she wakes up. if i do not let her latch, she will whine and cry and get all upset..=P

darlest, my gal is on enfa oso. actually i do tink all brands have all the good benefits but just a matter of which brand is most suitable for our own kids.
happy.gif

Lilian,
Thanks. Yup, cos the instruction says 15 ml which i feel is too much for a 17mth tod.

Darlest,
I think give what is suitable for our kid.

alibaba..
icic..i guess i missed that one out..hehe..so now he's still taking? hw's ur discussion with andrew getting along on deciding to "park" T at full-day or half-day cc?

lilian..
haha..such a small world..she's very steady leh..still bfg..she says she wil try to cut before K goes to full-day CC at LSH..both flavours u gave? she's ok taking both at the same day?my offc ban FB since long time back..i gave birth..either FB mobile or reach home then blast..hehe..

darlest..
currently didi is on karihome goat milk for 12mths & abv..as advised by doc till he's much older then see hw..

wtan, wah bibi so steady! Her Kayan is an active lil boy, tat day bibi had to run after him! haha
No la, not both flavour same day. My mum refuse to give K the original flavour, cos she finds t smell yucky. So I bought her the orange flavour one to give K on wkdays. My mum is more fussy than K u see...

lilian..
oh ya..she was telling me that her boy will want to latch on esp at night feed..i was telling her if she's already signed him up for full day CC, then better to start him on FM now since it's going to be 1 Jul for him to go LSH lo...but 1 thing, her Kayan is very mascular hor..really solid one..

oh..icic..so how much ur mum feed her at each day? hope it will help him grow strong aft taking the long-time fish liver cod oil..

ah lian, not sure if she no like the pasta or the sauce leh... maybe will try giving her again sometime later bah. in fact this is the 2nd or 3rd time i tried to give her pasta everytime she oso no like leh...

Snnowy,
U are right, Rachelle is teething. Saw 2 teeth popping out on her lower jaw. Now she got 16 teeth liao. She's starting to take her FM feed more readily. Phew!!

Haru,
I understand how u feel. I'm also very scare when the day comes for me to wean R off latching to sleep.

Wtan,
Don't think it's all on board lah but got improvement. After i stop pumping i only feel fullness at the end of the day(as R latches to sleep every night), now she latches more, i can feel fullness at mid day.
I gave the orange flavored cod fish liver oil to R. I give her a teaspoon only n on alternate days.

Jes,
R also don't like pasta.

wow, seems like everyone ready for your bbs to go for half day or full day care? don know.. i havent decided to leave him half day yet.. think he will scream and cry till vomit.. only will try to let him take up maybe 11/2 to 2 hours playgroup and see if he can adapt well b4 letting him join himself alone.. don think he is that independent yet..
sad.gif
hmmm... me also worried cause my son yet to speak or point what he reali want.. think the teacher will be too tired or impatient to guess wat he wants.

pasta: my boy also don like pasta.. he prefers chinese food. he very chi na.. i try the "wan dan" hor fun (hor fun with egg gravy) plus fish/meat/prawns with veg.. he likes. very asian. he don like tomato sauce... i think sour bah.

headstand: my boy nowadays like to do weird weird stunt.. he like to do headstand whenever he on the bed then somersault.. urgghh.. headache.. so scare of he sprained his neck.. so naughty.,

strange. my Nat now goes back to eating only soft and mushy stuff. For many months, she only wanted rice, biscuits, boiled potatoes, cut up pear n papaya. Now she wouldn't any. She used to gagged at the first mouthful of cereal, and now she's happy to take a generous serving at breakfast. It's so troublesome having to cook porridge for her all over again.

any mummies experienced this before??

Babyzel,
I think now is mine turn. She is turning into full latching for the past 2 days. This is her 3rd time. I checked and saw 2 whithish thing on her inner gum, I guess it should be molar. I'm telling myself the next time she accept FM, I'm gonna to wean her off altogether.

How abt trying to latch her for 1st half, then give her bottle and put her in cot to finish off?

I think most of our babies doesn't like pasta.

Lynn,
How's work? I think it good to start on 1.5 - 2 hrs basis then slowly lengthen the time, esp for our bb with separation anxiety. That's the bad part of being a SAHM. They are too sticky to us. I'm sure those who put bb in infant care doesn't need to face with the issue of separation/stranger anxiety?

snnowy, babyzel,
I used to give nat her FM first (assuming she is more receptive when she is hungry)followed by latch on. She usually starts to reject the bottle when she is half way thru - probably when her hunger is half satisfied. Over time, she takes more n more from the bottle, until she is totally weaned. And that's when I start to miss having her at my breast. Had to endure her protests n wails when we started on this. I think it was exceptionally hard for her to switch as I nurse her directly for the whole first year. She only takes water from bottle.

If possible, get someone else to offer the bottle (anyone but mummy)to bb. Mummy should stay out of sight, and smell.

moomummy,
You mentioned abt zoo-phonics sometime ago and I register Lucas to the zoo-toddler class at Jurong West and had attended the first lesson.

Go into the class only, he eagerly go get a chair and sit down but refused to get up! We gotta sit on the floor in front of the teacher, and he keeps wanna go get a chair behind to sit. For the first session, I would say he is ok though he cant sit down and pay attention. I think throughout the 1hr class, he only listens to the teacher for total of 5mins nia and only sit down quietly after the teacher gives out chocolate cookie.

re: MIL
Wanna frustrate here again ... recently Lucas is having skin problems ... dunnoe he got a cut or scratch his head, and got pus and dried up. Since I was preggy, MIL say cannot eat durians else baby will have flaky hair scalp ... but I still secretly eat abit but definitely have not taken one whole basket of durians! Now MIL come say again issit I eat durians thats why Lucas got skin problem now! Very angryz.

jo
haiz.. i duno where ur mil got this logic of eating durian & get flaky hair scalp... i eat so much but T skin condition still good mah... -_-"" ignore her la..

jo
yes, yes. i did mentioned about zoo-phonics recently. and yesterday, me went to register darius for the weekday playgroup classes(twice a week) too.
Wow, lucas is so guai leh. though he's not really paying attention to the teacher, but at least he dun cry at all. i'm keeping my fingers crossed now, hoping that darius would oso be guai when he starts his playgroup this thurs morning. :p

re: durian vs flaky skin
i dunno whether it is related to durians coz i ate alot of durians during my pregnancy and my boy is having skin problems like eczema and he got flaky skin oso. brought my boy to a skin doctor/specialist and we were advised not to bathe him in normal baby soap but use those mild ph level medicated soap. and we have to apply moisturizer for him daily too.
maybe its all coincidental bah. just ignore ur mil lah.

My MIL can juz specially call my mobile when I was at work and tell mi she juz applied cream on Lucas and ask last time u got eat alot of durians ah? I say nope. She continued n tell mi I told you before preggie cannot eat durians ... see Lucas skin now no good. I jus replied ok bye.

Dunnoe how many times she must repeat asking mi abt how much durians I ate when I was preggie and now Lucas skin is no good.

moomummy,
I feel that johnson & johnson not so good. I have been using Kodomo for Lucas and even myself. If u wan mild ph, maybe go for Cetaphil?

oops, i forgot to PM those ppl
happy.gif

how's mummies today? i'm back early from lunch today.

aly_nat: your handphone story so funnee.

jo: my MIL used to be like tt with my kai. it will be better w the 2nd one. my MIL never tells me this kind of crap now. quick, go have anor one then your MIL will be too busy looking after 2 to tell u these things
happy.gif

darlest: my kids drink the cheapest brand! currently it's dumex all in one. used to be friso.

wonder what has happened to mummy blustar. 2nd one also boy? i have a feeling jynnsan's is a girl.

jo
i tried using cetaphil on darius before, but it din help but made it worse. so now i'm using a brand call physiogel from the skin doctor's clinic. one tube costs me abt $28 and only last about 1 months plus.very siong. I tried to look for it at some pharmacies but very difficult to get leh..
sad.gif

sometimes mil are like tat one lah. super duper like to nag alot. my mil oso like tat, whenever my boy got some health issues now, she'll comment tat when I was preggy with him ,i shouldn't do this and that, blah blah blah.. i usually just shrug it off, can't be bothered to argue with her oso. :p

Jo, if i were you, i will oso reply, OK, Bye. And hang on. hehe...
Me no patience for nonsense

ahWen, me too think jynnsan's one is girl! hehe...

lian, erm.. i start 3 month ago to let my gal try using spoon. i will say ma ma feed, after i feed her, i will spoon the food again, and say reyess feed. then i will let her hold the spoon at one end, the i hold next to her to guide her to put the spoon into her mouth. i will let her try a fews time on each feed everyday. so when she is alittle bit confident and want to feed her herself, i will slowly let her do it her own with some of my help if necessary.

btw, does any mummies here, start to add seasoning to your child food? my hubby complaint tat my gal is too plain without seasoning.. and when is the right age for them to eat abit of seasoning food?

Darlest, Thanks! I will give it a try soon.
As for seasoning, no I have not start putting seasoning in her food. There's no 'right' age i guess.

hi moomummy, ignored her. i heard from other mummies, my mum and some doctor regards eat durian during preggy. do u know durian has alots of vitamin so in fact it very gd to consume during preggy. and those mummies who eat durian during preggy time, when the child is born, the child is very healthy one and hardly fall sick easily. duno is it true. but of coz must eat in moderation coz durian also high in sugar and very heaty.

darlest
yah, me usually won't be very bothered by wat my mil says about me. me will just keep quiet and carry on doing my stuff.hehe..

for the seasoning of food, my mil doesn't add any seasonings to my boy's porridge so its very plain tasting. my boy still eats it but sometimes abit slow.
but my mum has a different thinking though. she encourages me to add abit of seasoning, like light soya sauce to my boy's porridge to have some sweetness to it. then when i did, i realize my boy finishes his porridge faster than usual. but i dun add it very often also lah. just maybe once in a blue moon.
happy.gif

moomummy,
I don't eat durian, but my gals do develope dry skin once a while.
Not sure if u hv heard of "Sorbolene cream". It's very affordable, but so far, I've only seen those with 10% glycerin in Singapore. I usually get my supply of 100% pure sorbolene cream by Skin Basics from Australia. If my memory serve me right, one tube costs abt A$5, and last for quite a while. It's so mild it can even serve as soap substitute. If u wanna give a try, I can spare u a tube. My replenishment is arriving soon.
Meanwhile, dun apply or use anything that contain fragrance, alcohol n lanolin on your bb. (bath gel/moisturiser/shampoo....)

I know of a friend who adds nutrition yeast to her toddler's food, in place of salt. She's into everything organic, and is a vegan. But pls do your own research before giving. I dunno if this is good.

aly
yes, i've heard of sorbolene cream before and also heard that its good for dry skin bbs. but the skin doctor whom we've consulted advised against using it. coz he said it will worsen my boy's skin condition. thus, i din dare to try it on my boy, otherwise, if anything happens, then i will really get an earful from my hubby and mil liao.. :p

thanxs lian and moomummy. tat wat i think too tat their porridge already very flavorful liao due to those ingredient i put such as "long gu or ma tou" and corn and sometimes add in ikan bilis to boil the soup. and i alway add cod fish, meat, brocoli, cauliflower, carrot, potaotoes, spinach to her porridge. and sometimes i will change to bellamy brand marcroni or pasta to exchange with the rice.

lian, u seem expert in cooking. u have nice recipe to share with me? hee

Darlest,
do u put all those mentioned ingredient into one serving of porridge? And does she eat up all the liao that u put inside? I suspect my gal dun like my cooking. My hb say she eats like a bird.

darlest, what is "long gu or ma tou" ??
Me no expert la. I dun cook for her during wkdays, so i try to cook other stuff than porridge on wkends
And thk goodness, my girl isn't fussy eater, yet

aly_nat, yes. i put everything tat i mention in one porridge. i dice the food instead of mash it coz i feel she want to chew the food. and the meat i shred it.

lian, u so lucky tat ur gal not a fussy eater. =)

Snnowy: Hi, Snnowy!!
happy.gif
WORK IS SO TIRING!!! I miss the days when i can wake up the same time as bb.. everyday i need to wake up at 630am for work, it just seems like when bbs just newborns need to wake up for milk feed.. Urghhh.. yeah talk abt SAHM, i also agreed that bbs tend to be more sticky glue.. My maid told me that my boy every afternoon call for me.. so poor thing..
sad.gif
sob sob.. miss him too.. and every evening when i came back from home, whenever he sees me, he wants to stick to me w/o letting me go to bath.. if i am out of sight eg; go bath or toilet, he will scream and cry..daddy also don want.. haiz... yeah talk abt stranger anxiety.. till now my boy still never comfortable with strangers.. antisocial person..

Jes: I pregnant also eat durian. in fact is my mom ask me eat.. she say durian for pregnant women is tonic.. very "bu". she says last time their time, no money to "bu" like always cook chicken soup (chicken expensive), they eat durian as tonic.. my boy complexion also very nice.. TOTALLY NO LOGIC!! Old ppl like that one la, like to blame on pp. my MIL also like that they think cold, sweet drinks = no good. i gave my boy half a bottle of yakult, she tell my HB i give bb soft drink. when got cough, finger point at me, because i give "soft drink". i simply ignore her.

Darlest: talk about seasonings, the soup i boiled used to cook bb's porridge, we did add abit salt to enhance the body of the soup.sometimes, like dinner, we give steamed fish.. i steamed with tomato and ginger.. tomato give some flavour to the fish.. but we do add some seasonings already,a bit of soya sauce.. the good brand.. not too salty. just a bit.. to marinate the minced meat or chicken. my boy also a fussy eater.. instead of plain steamed rice.. we cooked pumpkin butter rice, tomato rice or chicken rice using chicken stock to enhance the flavor of the rice.. hehe.. maybe u can try..

Hi Mummies,

All this talk about seasoning, just wondering, how often or how many times, so far, have you feed your baby outside food as a meal? When u do so, what do u feed bb?

Good morning.

aly_nat,
I've not feed bb putside food as a meal. I will make sure he finish his food 1st(poridge/cereal) before we eat (lunch/dinner).
But only feed him a bit of what we are eating.
So far, he ate plain rice (his fav), noodle, mash potato, steam egg, tofu.

Lucky for me, he is not a fussy eater.

Arghh.. I typed so much and the stupid firefox hanged!!! What a way to start the morning !

Aly_nat, its not easy to find suitable outside food to feed our tods. Esp at foodcourt! N i dun trust t vege-rice stalls, cos they prepare t dish b4 hand, and dun cover them

Darlest, oh, u mean pork ribs and meat head. haha. blurr me!

OK, let me post this up, b4 tis hangs again
