(2008/11) November 2008

lian: no lah, i remember now it's the gain iq. remembered yesterday evening then messaged u. kena rejected
happy.gif
need to call fifi back.

aly_nat: will definitely call u this weekend. want to ask u something.

darlest: your gal is so adorable!

mildy: claudia too
happy.gif
wah, the birth story brings back fond memories. think u got to cut & paste many many before getting to your own. but funny leh, how come after hui, skipped to chillipadi? still got yoyo & babyzel in between.

jes: have fun staying at home. but make sure your MIL not around. cannot have 2 tiger in 1 mountain.

bosses:
think nut's description quite apt. but sometimes even lady boss with young children can be not understanding as well, like my ex-boss cos she believe she can be superwoman, no maid, no grandma helping, then everybody else shd be too.

boss on leave today. i'll come back again just before lunch. gals, have a good day ahead.

ahWen, not purposely wanna reject u ok. But i have tat $3 voucher too! N still have a couple of tins laying in cupboard. No need stock up soon.

Happy, sure can anchorvale/punggol. U girls decide ok. I'll help co-ordinate here

Who else wanna fly kite next friday???
ENNE ????

Mildy,
My gal also bawled and wail like mad if she doesn't get her way. Uusally I'll walk away and if she sees me ignored her, she will come running after me, hug me leg and cry.

Peanut,
Now almost all admin or office job is bao-ka-liao kind. Pay 1 salary but expect you to work for 2 persons. But what to do right???

Jes,
Welcome to SAHM club
happy.gif
Yes, shitty people in work place is irritating. It is like a pile in the ass. But nvm, once you are out of the office, treat it as if you had get the pile 'cut off' by surgery. Wakaka

Aly_nat,
We speak as if we are recriting more members to our club
happy.gif
So who shall be the chairperson to the SAHMummies club?

Olwen,
Yes,yes, my ex-boss, a lady, married wif 3 kids also think she is a superwoman. She is not family oriented and yet she expect ppl to do the same. Sad right? Just dun understand why some woman have to be so mean to their peer
sad.gif

morning ladies
happy.gif

bbzel, ya i will be on low maintenance whilst i'm not working. so i will grow "yellow" very quickly, haha

olwen, i'll make sure i'll be home ALONE sometimes. no MIL, no maid and oso no V, kekeke

snnowy, the pile example is very good and true! so in a few days' time i shall be "discharged" from "hospital" after the "surgery" le.
happy.gif

rotavirus
aly_nat, the other time u mentioned that there are 2 types of rotavirus vaccine right? my gal took the rotateq leh, is this the one tat is the no good wan? alamak

lady boss
actually my current lady boss is quite kind to me. though she's still single at her age of 40+, she does not fuss when i need to be away to attend to my gal and family affairs. too bad it's the political issues and some shitty pple that drove me out of this firm.

ah jes, is the other vaccine having t problem, Rotarix. Rotateq is ok.
My hub has a shitty boss. He expects everyone to b a workaholic like him. Although my hub has 14days MC for his surgery, he was asked to go back to work after 5 days rest

GOod Morning!!!
what do your babies call you? Mama, Papa, Mummy, Daddy, or anything else? My girl call us mummy and daddy but the funny thing is i always tell her mama but she calls mi mummy. maybe she learns from her sister.

Lynn,
wow i use to work with ang mos, they politics is very scarey one. its hiden one. cannot c from the outside. n things they say all got thorns. wakak.. i think i work from very different ang mos. kekek..

olwen,
cos i go post by post. if they deliver but haven post then i will not have come to it yet. kekeke...

ah lian, thanks for the clarification. i very blur, haha.
wow lau, yr hub very poor thing leh. but i guess he must be a very patient person else how to "lun" his shitty boss rite.

ang mos
pple ofte said depends on their nationality. i widely heard tat australians are the most difficult ones. so far my personal experience are norwegians are pretty nice, and they are quite forthright.

Lilian,
Oh dear, but if on MC mean on MC liao. What's the purpose of MC if asked to go back. He went back??

Jes,
Yup you will be 'discharged' soon. Once the doctor certified that you are well enough to do so. Wakakaka

snnowy, yes he went back liao.... sigh...
ah jes, if he not patient type hor, he would not have married me lor. Me is super impatient.

Agree w Mildy tat some angmoh is even more 厉害 in playing politics. Hidden one. They put on a smiley face in front of everyone... then behind our backs, 出patterns liao

here it comes:

bbzel - Dear Mummies,

Jenn - Hi mummies, more babies news.

Olwen just informed me that Jenn had just given birth to felicia, weighing 3.175kg and measure 49cm in length. Lets congrats Jenn! Currently jenn is well but still shivering after the op. Hopefully the side effect will wear off soon.

Jenn, Here goes my birth story: 21/10/08

11.30am: checked into the room
12.00am: nurse came in to shave and put in the enema for me to clear my bowels
1pm: changed and pushed into the delivery threatre waiting area
1.30pm: hubby waited outside the threatre while i was being pushed in to take the jabs for the drip and the spinal.. wasn't that scarly after all.. or maybe my heart was on seeing my BB soon
1.40pm: my gynae come and my half body was totally numb liao.. cannot even leave my legs no matter how hard i tried
1.50pm: before the gynae started i asked for my hubby but gynae said hubby was waiting outside liao and will only let him in once they manage to carry my BB out as my BB was in risky breech position so dun wanna scare my hubby.. i could feel all the tugging movements and the pushing of my BB out though no pain felt.. i was mumbling to myself for Felicia to come out safely.. almost cried..
1.58pm: Felicia come out while hubby came in..
2pm: Could hear her crying while the nurse wrap her up and pass to us.. hugged her and she stopped crying when she heard my Hubby and me calling her name.. that moment i felt like crying.. XD hahaz~ took some pics too..

vincy - Mummies,
Vincy has given birth to her little Vera this morning at 7am. Baby is 2.7kg...
Congrats Vincy!!

amooks - Hi mummies, thanks for all the well wishes. I had a lot of visitors since yesterday, now finally got time to sit down to post.

here is my story:
7am - reached TMC, do admission stuff.

8am - was assigned to a room, changed into op wear. Nurse did a final shave for hairs around tummy area. I'm glad i did Bwax coz i cant imagine her doing shave for me downunder. :p

8.35am - i was wheeled to the waiting area outside op theatre.

8.50am - Doc arrived and did GA for me. 1, 2, 3 breath and i was in la la land.....

9.45am - i was woken up in a waiting lounge by the nurse, all she said was "operation is over, you are going back to ur ward"

10.05am - back in ward, i was wide awake, bb came back to the ward.

I was hungry by the time i went back to ward. but wasnt allowed to eat coz nurse told me might have side effect like vomitting, nauseous.

BY 3pm, i cannot tahan liao, had milo with snack. Yum! food at last! hahaha, then followed by dinner.....

Dr Adrian was surprised to see me eating this morning when he came to see me. I was told that i can remove the drip and catarat and start to walk around.

The 1st step was terrible but it gets better. now i can move around easily.

I think for mummies going for C-section, try to start walking earlier. it'll help with the pain.

I'll be in ward 639 till sunday noon. any mummies popping soon can come by to see me!
hunnypoo - hi mummies,

Baby Tristan has arrived on 20 Oct at 1137am and weighs 2.72kg at birth He is a little bigger than expected as we were expecting him to be around 2.5kg only hence were pleasantly surprised!

To the rest of you, hang in there and hope to hear good news from you soon!

aly_nat: yeah if ur child reaches the milestones and do every development then i think no issue.. brandon is a bit slow.. all bbs in this thread are standing up on 11 mths.. mine then start to crawl.. all bbs here can walk.. mine still cruising.. so PD is actually concerns on his development.. hopefully brandon will suprise me.. and yeah i will wait till he can speak then I go ahead with tHe MMR.

*pop*

Wah got pi sai.. got love story.. got love pi sai story? wahahaha...

Re: female bosses
Yeah if u have a female boss with family (young kids etc) i feel they are more understanding. I worked for spinster bosses and they are really very demanding. my mum worked for one, who would call her at 10pm at night to scold her! my current boss has a PhD and also has 5 kids and she is very very gd. always tell us nothing is more impt than our family so i m very lucky lor.

Congrats iluvbli55!

Re: Kite flying
Where ah? and wat time? let me know early and i might be able to join u all.
happy.gif

Mummy2nia, the other driver don't believe that a small bump would cause so much damages lor. said she wants to seek 2nd opinion. well she is welcome to. Now waiting for her. if she dun wanna settle it then i will claim against her lor.

*yawn** i'm reeeeeally sleepy.. had a super good and heavy lunch... counting down to 5.30pm..

Lian.. no need to tempt me la.. i'm not craxy over having baby boy yet.. haha

Lynn,
As u well know, bb develop at different pace. I think as long as they r gaining new skills as they grow, n appear happy n contented most of the time, they will get there. Of course, as like all mummies, I share your concern. My #1 did not start speaking till about 24mths. But after she start pre-sch, there's no way anyone can make her stop talking, even till now. She calls herself chatterbox (and proudly....faint).

I took Nat for her MMRV this am. My PD's opinion on MMR - she said the doc who did the study linking MMR vaccine to austism was found to have manipulated the study data, n that his study was conducted only on 13 kids, of which almost all candidates has some form of mild neurological disorder. Out of the 11 doctors who participated in the publication, 11 withdrew at a later stage. The doc in question was later charged for mis representing the data.

Lilian,
I asked my PD abt the rotarix n rotateq. She said many years ago, rotateq also came under investigation by FDA, but later declared ok. Hopefully, rotarix will be cleared after further clinical investigation.

Mildy, I teach my #2 to call me "mama", but most times, she calls me "mum" - probably the influence of her sister.

Olwen/Jes,
u r welcome, anytime. we're not too far from each other.

Snnowy,
maybe after Jes, there will be more SAHM. The more the merrier.
btw, your #1 is attending school? am or pm? Your gals' name very unique hor? U very creative leh.

Re: MMR
Somebody was asking me abt MMR? i just rem it aft reading Aly_Nat's post. Like i said the only reason why i m delaying it is becos i just want Z to be older before i give it to him, that his body is more ready to withstand the viruses (attenuated etc) than at a younger age. Moreover I m not intending to send Z for any lessons, so i m not too worried that he will contract the diseases before hand.

Also abt MMR's fever etc, having a fever is actually a GOOD thing. it means ur kid's immunity sys is gd enough to HAVE a response, i.e. their immunity sym is working fine. so don't fret abt the fever ya? it will pass, just that it is a pain in the ass for us parents when they are sick.

As for the autism thingy, i think even docs are saying there are no link btw MMR and autism, i guess they are still fearful that if a kid takes MMR and is autistic, that the parents will sue/ blame them. hence they are also cautious cos they wanna protect themselves. bottomline is if ur PD says when to do it then u do it at the time they recommend. sometimes they censor info to us parents cos they know we are worrywarts hence will worry over the slightest thing.

Darlest, i m very curious to read that u mentioned vinegar and ginger are SCIENTIFICALLY proven to cause newborn jaundice. can u pls share your source? cos as far as i know, there is no proof to link jaundice to diet. We Asians are more prone to jaundice, most likely due to our genes and not diet.

Mildy, Z calls me both Mama and Mummy, calls his Dad both Papa and Daddy.

hi aly_nat, thanxs for the mmr info! glad to know.

haha.. happy, ur boy so cute! dun be offend k, but i find it quite cute tat ur boy call ur dog 1st. it show tat ur boy are animal lover.

my gal call my hb 1st which is dad dad when she is 10mth old. my hb so delighted! and she only start to pronounce the Mmm word only when she 14mth. tat how she start to call me mama & when she want to eat, she will say "mum mum"

lynn, yesterday, i gav my gal ate egg. i add into her porridge for her lunch & dinner. at night she lao sai. not sure is it she allergic to egg...

aly_nat, thks for t info!
happy.gif

my girl only call my mother. *sad*
She said 'mickey maw' and 'Elle' (the elephant in pocoyo) once... all cartoons *sad*

Re: allergy vs intolerance
Allergies don't usually cause diarrhea. That's intolerance. Don't mix the two up ya? If ur kiddo develops rash around the anus aft eating new stuff, it could be a possible case of allergy BUT it is very mild and nothing to be worried abt. It took Z 1.5 mths (6 wks) of continuous diet of fish before he stopped developing nappy rash aft his poo.

If u wanna check if it is intolerance, u have to try a few times and give the food a few days in a row to be sure that it is intolerance.

Darlest, yes pls show us the link.
happy.gif

lilian,
wakakka... she likes ella in pocoyo?!?!? kawaii neh!!! its funny to hear what they say hor!?!?!?
