Lovedogs, i scared 1K not enough man.. that's why i dun think i can afford to give her 1K then have a maid at the same time. My mentality is that she keeps pressing us to have a kid and even promised to take care of them for me so she better stick to it lor.. now she like got 2nd thoughts. asked us to standby a maid. if i have a maid then i would half the amt i give her lor. she is doing half the job. :p me so calculative hor. but when the 2nd ones comes prob need maid liao... i m planning for 3 kids. 2 like not enough... heh..

I just want meat mostly.. cannot tahan vegs at all. no other cravings, well other than ice cream and tartar sauce hahaha.. will let u know if ur predictions are accurate! heh...

Peanut, ya Neurogain quite ok hor? may be u can try it lor. u guys say ur gynae mark up the prices of the vits and supplements ah? my gynae charge $29 per bottle of Neurogain. Aft GST abt $31.

yup have to leave the child with the maid. same goes to nanny mah. oso leave child to nanny without my "supervision". but my working time. i usually go out at 8+ & reach home around 6-6.15pm. MIL sometimes earlier than me. but of cos will only fang xin leave bb with maid til she is independent. i shld be getting the maid 1mth before EDD. so she can start to get use & prepare for bb arrival too. And in any case, i still have time to change for another maid if not satisfy.

Dunno leh, initially i wanted 5 kids. always loved them and i think i can provide for them hahaha.. THINK only.. but now i think 3 will be just enough cos i dun think i wanna repeat the whole pregnancy worries all over again, so many times.

MIL is 62 i guess. to me she is super fit lor. she spend her whole life as a full time housewife. even though now she has nothing to do, she just sits at home. to me this is very unhealthy. every wk hear her complain runny nose, hand pain, leg pain but she nv do anything lor. last time when she took care of my nieces got less complaints! she needs to keep her mind occupied! her lifestyle damn shiok. slp until 11am everyday, then in the aftn slp some more.. at night slps at 11pm. and she can complain she got insomnia. i got no pity for her.

my grandma if she got free time she got play mahjong, "si sek" or go M'sia or follow fren go pray..if no programme then stay @ home nua.. My MIL is more shy type.. seldom go out..

yes, they need to have something to keep them occupied. but no joke to look after baby... damn siong. I looked after my gal along during my maternity leave. CL left after day 27 and i was alone all the way till i return back to work. I did not seek help from my mother at all during that period. it was really siong... every morning rush to do babie's laundry... every 2 to 3 hours, latch on etc... do some housework...no time to go toilet sometimes...

5kids alot leh.... its more of the financial burden... will be very expensive! i think 3 is good

hui..mine detail scan on 29 Jun lor. so later than yours.. yesterday we had a good laugh while gynae is scanning. BB's action is like froggy. open and close bb legs.. then stretch in and out. Simply wana prevent us to getting a good look at that area..

I think all humans shd be kept busy if they wanna live long and healthy. this is partly why i dun think i will retire young, nor ever be a SAHM. just doesn't suit my character. I need to be kept occupied always or else i will go crazy! An idle mind is a devil's playground! i noticed my MIL feels slighted at everything lor.. she thinks everybody is out to target her!

Lovedogs, JJmom, like i said i used to THINK i can do it lah, have 5 kids. my hb said he doesn't wanna be a cow for the rest of his life.

ya lor. mil work. i oso work. so maid have to independent with bb. but i will try to employ one with experience & supervise her during my confinement & only let her handle alone til i'm confident with her.
am also still tinking whether to take full 3 mths maternity leave or 2 mths & break the rest.

Mosh, are u having a boy too? heehee.. i love meat.. i used to take a balance diet, i.e. vegs every meal. in fact no vegs i will feel quite guilty. but now i eat everything but the vegs.. cannot tahan the smell. :p

Hui, i have "v" infection also.. E doc told me to air it more often. Now i noticed that there are more discharge. Don know whether it is normal.
 
Bibi, have more discharge is normal for preggie but u can still double check with your gynae if u r bothered by it

I used to have "v" infection before pregnancy, Dr said it was due to using panty liners (apparently they prevent air flow). She advised to stop them totally,use 100% cotton undies and change undies twice a day. So far so good

yes as JJmom said, it is very normal to have more discharge during preggy, seems to be at least 30% more than normal. As long as it's not causing any itch or having a strong smell, you are fine.

Congrats to all the mommies who know their baby's sex. Mosh and velvel, yours should be coming anytime soon too.

i think hor u got to discuss it well with ur hb on the options in taking care of #2..maybe can consider getting a part-time cleaner to do cleaning in the house on a wkly basis if MIL dun want to hv maid..i think hor 1st option is possible is either mom or MIL take care of bb...then if cant & also dun want maid then get nanny lo..hw abt getting a CL if u think ur MIL wont be helping u as much willingly..coz aft giving birth we also need to replensish & "pu" back our body so tat we can be strong to take care of bb along the way lo..some $ cant be save one..being 1st time parent, CL can also give gd methods in caring bb lo..

for us hor..we got the stroller when bb is born coz not all babies want to sit stroller one..some like to be carry..i think u can chk out wat type of strollers u prefer..then find out the prices if purchase frm various stores & see if u want to get one now ba..

ya..i think Guardian also not as cheap as Watson..if u see, let me know hw much too..ya..reduce salt intake can help reduce high blood pressure..eg: u can try to hv fries from mac w/o salt..also taste as "crispy" and fresh..u r v brave leh want to go thru labour..haha..if i hv a wish..i hope that we can "zip open" our belly & take bb out then when want to go out or watch movie w/ no one to help take care, "zip open" to put bb inside for easy transportation..lol..logistic-free..

wow..ur MIL so nice ah..even let u stay at masterbedroom..i feel the access to the toilet is v impt..i was staying in the common room when i delivered & really had a hard time carrying bb from common toilet back to my room aft bathing lo..sigh...that's why we got our own flat now..lol..

u gave me a gd idea to extend CL from 28days to 40days leh..but duno she can get permit done anot leh..think i got to find time to call to her to chk liao..this CL was recommended & confirmed by my cousin..so i hvnt call her yet..lol...i personally think hor if u plan to hire a maid..u shd try to get her in to get used to ur routine before u delivered...then at least she can get use to everything..can also help out CL..then at least u wont be so tiring to make sure maid is doing well her work etc..
 
Hui, I also stay with my MIL who is a housewife (but she has an active social circle, half the day not at home and away for a short trip every month or so with my FIL) and currently
there is a maid helping with all the housework.

I'm thinking of getting a 2nd maid just to look after the baby full-time, once is born.
But husband said the current maid should be able to deal with the housework and the baby, however which i'm afraid she can't cope and she is quite young.

Anyone else in the same situation as me?

this mummy at my thread was expecting her #2 when her #1 was 6mths old..then her gynae told her to stop ASAP..
her comments are:-
according to nurse, better for mummy physical well-being, as both BM n bb inside needs nutrients from mummy.. if continue bf-ing, in e end, mummy suffer hence shd get more rest as no need to pump at nite anymore...then if u continue bfg even thou preggy with #2, will trigger contraction earlier..maybe u can chk with gynae..

Hui, IC.. i blur hahahaha. no wori. Talk to BB more prior to scan. I was busy with my new house and at night when i reach home, immediately wana KO liao. so din reali talk to BB..so BB naughty. Dont wan let me know gender.

Re: 'V' infection: I noticed an increase in the amount of discharge. Think im prone to it but trying to keep it as clean as possible :p

u need a CL or nanny?? u can look around ur area see who can babysit ur bb during daytime.. where u stay? actually i heard some family actually let the maid slp in the living room. duno if it's proper anot.
 


hi alibaba, i need a day CL for my confinement. i do not a nanny/maid anymore as i m goin to be a temp full time mummy. i stay in toapayoh, 3rm flat. my dad insisted there's no place for maid. and i supposed there will be no space for a normal timing CL. now my hb and i headache ah.
