hmm.. shld i say she use to it?keke.. coz now she take care of 4 grandchilldren by the age of pri 2- pri 5.. all is one year gap.. me n my 2nd sis is also one year gap :D

u ate froglegs when u hv #1 ah..steady leh..i dun even dare to take man..lol..i guess by wk 16 onwards we shd start to feel the gassy pops..lol..i find it funny when they burp..lol..indeed v nice of ur grandma to help take care of ur kids..do u intend to send ur #1 to CC so tat at least ur grandma can try to take a break to concentrate on #1..v sweet of her leh..can teach ur #1 to play with others..this is gd also..btw, i got this feeling u r carrying a Mickey leh..coz girl usually have sweet tooth..it's the boy that cant take a fair bit of sugar..but love saltish things..lol..gd luck ah...

see hw things goes when u reach that age ba..i m sure for me..i m scared abt the pain (coz my bloated tummy was "sitting" on my wound aft the c-sect when i tried to bath at day 12 then leh) so really regretted..so hor i think hor i wont try for #3 la..but hvnt thot of the birth control methods yet leh..hee..same same leh..i got the issue abt who to take care of #2..coz my mum already told my MIL that #2 let her take care but i hv reservations lo for her to take care..anyway..i m thinking if i shd get a nanny near my place for #2..dun think will get a maid coz we just shifted in this jan to hv our own private area..dun think so fast want another stranger to share the place with us lo..somemore with the CC for #1...sigh..headache leh..

REally? give me more detail lay. But when I check with bf support group, they say it ok. The onli concern is that it might lead to premature birth. That why I intend to wean her off totally when I'm in my 7th month.

When i have JOvial i craving for alot of things leh.. chocolate,spicy,salty, sour and i eat alot but #2 till now still got MS, dun like coco smell, but i drink sweet things.. like kopi or tea muz add more milk..i also eat sour and spicy things..onli diff is when i have Jovial i not choosy over food.. this one i very choosy..
 
Maid vs nanny
my mil told me my neighbour does baby sit daytime @ $500 mon-fri. i duno it's more worth it to have maid instead.
-_- my mil seems like prefer us to give to nanny & bring bb back home at night to look after ourselves. i am afraid after work i'll be too tired to jagar bb & housework. cos if after giving birth, housework i need to help out abit oso.. i also dunoe how she tink. decide to have a maid for her oso seems like a problem to her! at least have someone to help her in housework wat.

My gynae v play safe.. she say if i wan to buy clothings then can get bb gal one. But leave the cot, stroller etc after the detailed scan. I tink i'll only start getting all these during last tri, unless ther r good buys during GSS
 
hui, my one also very choosy over food leh.. prefer meat and fried stuff.
Im more of a veg person lor, so now have to eat to suit bb... at first dont noe what to eat, things I used to love dont like now liao like egg, toufu, veg, i eat will puke.. tats Y I lost so much weight cos dont noe what to eat anymore...

nanny wun be staying with u so u n ur hubby still got privacy.. but maid staying with u so ur hse will be extra one mouth to feed and one mroe outsider walking arnd ur hse.. is reali tired after work still nd to take care bb but no choice lah.. unless u wan to be weekend mummy.. ike somtimes i very tired i wil leave JOvial with grandma one week mayb once or twice for me to rest.

i think each of us gain e most weight at diff stage of pregnancy ba.. as long as we control n by delivering time, we do not gain too much in total can le ba.. n most importantly, it's the BB's health that matters =P
 
Lilian, dunno leh, my gynae gave me both to eat. anyway i m left with 10 more tablets of folic acid. will ask him when i see him in 2 wks.

Lovedogs, i was just telling my hb that having a bb is ex! my MIL will take care of the bb so i guess we will be giving her abt 1K (inclding her kopi money) to take care of the bb. she initially wanted a maid but i dun think i can give her 1K plus pay for a maid. Plus i need double of everything, cots, sterilisers etc. I will bring the bb home every night lor.

Re: fetal quickening
I have been experiencing funny movement in my tummy these few days leh. too early to be fetal quickening right? i get a bump or 2 out of the blue but when i go and touch my tummy i can't feel it. It seems to be kicking internally than kicking towards the skin. am i too sensitive?

I had a BBQ last night in my lab. it was a weird one cos they only BBQ-ed invertebrates. so it was sotongs, prawns and clams! no meat at all.. so weird.. didn't eat much in the end!

Went for my scan late afternoon.. BB very naughty. Open and close legs so many times...kicking here and there..Gynae cant managed to get a clear view.. so sad... so now.. cant confirm mickey or minnie. Have to wait for next month. SOB SOB. BB measured 11.4cm (16 weeks). Weight gained for me is around 2.5kg..

peanut00, ya hor. it look harder to break into pieces.. me fine with swallowing it.. at least not that 'smelly'. But Dr Wong didnt asked me to take any fish oil yet..

Bear, Yes. Next appt is detailed scan. I hope to see BB gender by then..

Misaryeo, i m only 14 wks plus along.. a bit early to be fetal quickening? see most the mums say their first movement is abt wk 16 onwards.

i know got one @ lor 8 market in between the stall selling lor mee and prawn mee/Laksa.
sometimes we can feel bb kicking out of the blue like they knk into the stomach wall..haha..i tot wan eat meat is boy coz when i have Jovial i eat alot of meat..keke..
 
bear, that's true.. but i do feel it before 16weeks. I am in my 17weeks now. when i was abt 14 weeks i also felt some movement. but wasn't very obvious . so maybe urs is bb movement

saw nerogain PB at pharmacy jus now. ~$35 for 1mth supply. And yes its much smaller than the one my gynae gave.. like evening primrose kind. I shd be able to swollow for this size

Nanny & grandma different. more restriction. Nanny not so flexible..Oso tink $500 isnt cheap at all.. moreover my mil is the type dont really can help me out.cos she is working as well. i dun wan help from her oso. cos i know later she will grumble... machiam end of the day, i'm like "qian ku chui ren" .. Less to say hubby to help me out. he is a workaholic! Privacy aready invaded cos staying with mil liao. no diff with having a maid anot. plus we have an extra room. sometimes my mil do housechore, like so "buay gam wan" - hate tis kind of attitute. if dun wan to do, dont do la.
TO employ maid 1stly to look after bb, 2ndly to help her out in her house chores. one arrow shoot 2 birds. For all good. i oso tink she wont even help me on my confinement food. so i nv expect too much from her as well. i would ask my mom to help out instead. but of cos i get hb to check with mil or else she tot y we nv consult her 1st! so have to respect her.
i learnt a lesson from my sil. she insist to manage herself. didnt get help at all. end up mess up her own confinement. over tired herself. tat's y i dun wish to get into conflicts & end of the day no one is happy about it! gotta Plan it ahead..

oh i really! i long long time nvr been geylang branch except recently go sin huat coffeeshop for their crab beehoon and duck rice. so sad my you tiao shifted.

umm... like that hear seems my mil not too bad wor.. she'll do confinement for me, offer to let baby sleep in her room at night so we wont be disturbed, say grandchildren she look after for free we no need give $$. umm.. not too bad.. but minus the leg tying, hard biscuits and sweets lah wahahaa...

COT or Playpen for bb?
starting to plan bb room space liao. duno which is better. tot playpen is better cos bb older can use to keep him in there more safe.
 
peanut> lucky to u mah. it's always gd to have someone to offer help to u. else v cham to have none help.Esp when u gotta work & have kid to look after. Not all MIL is the same. heehee.. but so far is not i dun like my mil. sometimes is the way she plan tings or comments i dun like. becos we are of different mindset. And she ever helped my sil to take care but end up she give up.

Alibaba- I chose cot becos playpen cant last long .. once bbs start to crawl , they will not wan to LOCK INSIDE the playpen. Cot - meant for zzz .. so can last longer lor
 
re:confinement and taking care of bb
my MIL also did confinement for me, look after my boy, she even let out her master bedroom so I have easy access to the toilet and can see baby in the cot. we give her angbao but she took a bit as a token only, feel so bu hao yi si coz she takes care of everything for me. Now she takes care of my bb when I'm at work but I can't afford to give her much but give her a sum of token every month, think they shd be ok coz to them.. its their grandchildren ba??..

Definitely COT coz ur baby won't want to be confined when grow up liao lo... hee..
 
hui-my MIL also offer to take care of my 2 kids after this 2nd bb out but she also needs to take care of her own housework, initially I planned to work part-time so can help look after but she feels its better for me to work coz still got hse and added expenses for 2 kids.. if she helps me to take care of 2 kids and I'm still working, I feel shd give her more every month liao hor coz 1 more mouth.. still tou tong but definitely will change job but don't know shd take part time or listen to MIL work fulltime, let her manage my 2 kids..

Yup. my grandma said if craving for meat, mean carrying a boi and craving for veggie or fruit mean expecting a gal. When I had my gal, I'm craving for veggie most of the time.

but the ting is my sil giving her about $600-$700 per mth tat time. ever got once $$ came in late without informing. my mil soo pissed off about it.. one ting bad is that my sil oso spoil market due to her working shift as a nurse. she sometime abused the timing. even she not working she oso nv bring the bb back.. So mil got too tired of taking care of bb from day to night. hard to do house chore & night time hardly get enough slp.
tat's y my turn, i rather not get help from my mil. she oso said she dun wan take care of our kid cos she nv help sil. so gotta be fair & square -_-"

i tink more ppl prefer bb cot. some bb cot is convertible into junior bed.

We will bring bb over to my sis's place every morn b4 gng to wok. My mom is taking care of my niece with the help of my sis's maid. Both mom & sis offer to care for my bb this way, they r vy against of me putting bb in infant care which I have been thinking abt.

Allowance :
Giving extra $ to my sis's maid & increase my mom's mthly allowance by another $500 (follow my sis's rate)

Craving :
I crave for fruits more = bb gal? but I also love beef noodle wor then = ? also love kuei,eg the pink rice kuei, carrot cake, shui kuei

cot vs playpen - I have 1 of each. Cot at my home for my gal to sleep in. Playpen at my mother's place coz day time she is there so she can nap there....

1K is alot but if u can afford i think it shows appreciation as it is not easy to look after a baby and the responsibility is huge. I initially give my mum $900 then now to $800. It is OK now but only concern abt number 2. I worried abt Maid expenses and childcare expenses.

ur MIL very nice leh.... for me, i spent $2K on CL last time. This time I expect to spend more as I plan to get CL to stay for up to 40 days instead of 28 days.... then hoping new maid can come in during the last 2 weeks when CL is still ard...

i hate the idea of having a maid too...how nice if got someone can come in every morning do all housework for u...then go home at abt 8pm! hahahahaa... but my hb & me are already going crazy with the housework... our part time maid only comes once a week and the floor juz gets dusty and dirty very fast...so i hope maid will be able to help me mop floor everyday :p
