joyce-I had OSCAR done for my first preg, initially I was asked to do NTSCAN only coz I was 24 by right shd have low risk of bb having DS then NTSCAN fails-shows high risk of DS thus doc ask me go ahead with blood test-OSCAR.. Yeah its ard that amt too..

Just to share.. After that it still fails showing high risk of DS then I was asked to do amnio test which is ard $800+ then normal results in 2weeks but if wan fast results in 2-3 days pay $250 more lo. I paid coz cannot wait..

Lucky the results shows my bb is ok.. living in fear everyday that time.. hopefully this time round this bb don't give me such fright.
 
Enne, u were really brave *hugz* e tests could only show e rate like 1/250 means risky but den again it's 1 out of 250 so not exectly definately. tat's why i thought, since i'm 25 n e nutal scan shows bb is fine i should just believe in my bb and *pray* hard ba..

i have two fren oso lidat. but the doc asked her to direct amnio test.(can be pay by medisave) end up bb turn out to be ok.. oso living in fear. one of them even cried.cos too scared

Enne, u have a bad experience that scared u.. It scared me too.. think i hv to reconsider again!
Dun worry, i m sure this time round ur bb wont give u such fright anymore.

Jen/Enne, any idea when to do NTSCAN? During which week?
 
Jenn,alibaba-mine was like 1 in 71?? after doing blood test become 1 in 100+?? Really frighten me out of my wits.. don't dare talk to anybody abt it coz my tears will flow too.

Pkum-I agreed, although I experienced that with my first preg but now my 2nd preg I still feel its a miracle and such a wow feeling..

My doc haven't told me abt the OSCAR test thingy.. next appt i would be 12 wks+ liao. i think i will do the scan first and see lor...

Eh, ladies, esp 2nd time mummies, when u constipate, do u have any tummy discomfort? I have been having discomfort at both sides of my tummy, next to my hip bones. is this normal? no spotting though... just this stupid pain at the sides.
 
alibaba-I am one of the doggie considered ba?? I ROM when I was 22... 23 hold chn wedding.. 23-24 had my pig baby boy... now 25-26 preg with mickey/minnie mouse.. Yeah! Although this preg is quite unexpected, not planned one.. God GIFT to me.

I dun hav constipation but i hav pain at the side next to the hip bone.
 
Bear-hmm I tend to have strains or cramps at the sides of my abdomen, I ask gynae last night but he say ok as long as no spotting.. Maybe you give a call to ur gynae to be reassured??
 
Thanks ladies for ur prompt replies. the pain goes off and on.. like straining lor... i instinctively think it is more of a bowel syndrome cos it doesn't feel like cramps to me. but it has persisted for most of today so i m a bit worried.

Karen, i do have occasional pains at the side.. one time it was continuous throbbing! throb then stop, throb then stop... annoying leh.

Enne, my gynae would say no fresh red blood no emergency.. so no pt calling him... sigh... but i take comfort that ur gynae says that it shd be ok as long as no spotting!
 
Enne, in fact i also ROM ard 22yrs, Chinese customary in 25yrs, and give birth to my 1st boy in 26yrs.. now preggy and 2nd bb, is a planned one for me

Bear-Yeah he say sometimes unavoidable coz our tummy getting bigger and stretching inside too.. mine happens when I carry my boy too long or walk too long.. did u do any tedious work b4 u feel the pains at ur sides?

Actually I din planned to have another one so fast coz don't wish to deprive my boy of all the love and attention he always been enjoying.. when I knew I preg I had mixed feelings feeling bad towards my boy but thinking on the bright side giving him a sibling.

Enne, no i didn't do anything strenuous.. i woke up this morn with tummy discomfort.. managed to poo (first time for 7 days!!) and the poo was black and sticky.. Oops TMI!!! anyway aft that i had the pain lor... went to the loo again but pain still persist..

shd i be worried?
 
ya, i think is normal to feel that too, although mine is planned, but still have mixed feeling. You are right, we are giving him another sibling to play along ..
 
Bear-7 days is a long period without poo-ing.. maybe u shd try eating more fruits to release ur poo regularly, see whether it helps ur discomfort?..

yah lo i tot of rushing for a mickey/minnie.. i tot no hope le and wanted to wait for 1-2yrs.. but who knows suddenly pregnant..

i think our baby in time to celebrate christmas, new year and chinese new year! can buy many clothes for our bb...

hui-haha who help u take care of Jovial?? MIL?? for my boy my MIL take care for me, I stayed near my MIL so everyday morning bring him to and at night I go my MIL hse for dinner then fetch him back.

Pkum-You are so so right!! haha but I think hor.. u see next year CNY is Jan 26 or 27.. after our confinement I think we ourselves not much time to do hair or go shopping for CNY liao..

yup we will be super rush for the CNY... my uncle is a hair stylist i hope he can help me rebond and cut my hair.. but his appt always full.. other than that i worried for my waistline... shopping.. maybe buy dresses online lo.. hehe..
