calamari, i've been keeping track but by physically separating the retired cards from the set in the order that they're retired. but i find them taking up way too much space (one whole huge drawer) and i'm now throwing out that old cupboard and can't find one with a same sized drawer to fit all the cards.

you place your daily cards in a box? what kind of box is large enough for the cards? hubby says to look for wall organiser like those for lettes and stuff but big enough for the cards, so that each session's cards can be separated. is there any kind of folder that would be large enough to slot the cards in? Art folders perhaps? any ideas GD mummies?

Also, GD mummies on step II equations and problem solving, can share how many weeks you stay on the same type of equations? I attended the training just last week but it's confusing.. Now I'm following the examples given in the excel spreadsheet - 3 equations (only flash the answer) followed by a problem (to choose between 2 answer cards). is that correct?

So upset with myself, i left kaleb on the bed while i went to the other side to take something. He was so engrossed in a toy that i tot he be safe and wont move as i'll be away for a sec, never expect he move his butt and landed on the flr with his back of the head knock against the flr, it was quite a hard one and a 'bao' appear so petruding! I quickly rub and nw its a even bao not so petruding. Haiz,so worried abt it....cant even leave them for a sec.
DO i have to bring him to the PD? Or jus monitor for fever and vomitting?
Any mummies have similar thing happened before?

jgal- try out the multi grains.. my son like it too. so will pick up the balance 2 cans. once confirm hv stock I will make payment. so far open oatmeal and mutigrains, oatmeal content is slightly > 50% filled and the multigrains is only 50% filled.

any idea, one bottle can last how many feed?

PrincessJ: I think these few days definitely will have BP fÓr CNY clothes. There were a few BPs since Nov. You should also be able to find in chinatown. Tangs has some too, but not v nice.

Diva: try chinatown? Those touristy shops might have.

Vonn, got to monitor him for 3 days for fever, vomiting, and look for for extra tireness, etc. If any, go to PD immediately. Ernest has his fair share of falling and bumping of head, so I can totally understand what u are going through. Hope Baby K is all right.

U must be worried abt the fall. I was too when shevon fell 1st time.. Then she fell 2nd, 3rd time n now i think she knocked her head on the floor, edges or fell a few times till im getting a bit used to her knocks. I think bb gets more knocks once they start crawling everywhere. Just observe Kaleb for a day to two for any fever, vomiting or unusual signs. My ger only starting crawling nearing 9m, pretty late i wd say for a bb.

Ya observed 48hrs for vommiting, fever & letagic. Can understand cos when Eshin fell, feel very heartpain.

re GD crads organisation, I use this wooden rack i got from daiso, it looks like those plates rack. There are 4 sections.
So i use the this to organise my cards. First section - morning cards. Second section- evening cards. Third section- New word cards for Morning set and the last section - new word cards for evening set.
Retired sets are kept away in the box.
a few weeks ago i realised that my girl has started to recognise words.
When i show her two or three cards and say out the word i want, she will crawl and tap the word. Sometimes she will just grab the card. =)

wana to know how mummy here feed bb solid..emm, let say if i wana give my son BR cereal, oatmeal cereal, fruit, porridge, how to give as he only take 2 solid per day, hoe to slot in so many things?

currently my boi taking EYS BR cereal in the morning then sometimes porridge or HT BR cereal in the afternoon, then 3 milk.

Hi5, think maybe gers crawl later? I think even if started crawling also of accidents, She has banged her head on the floor like once every 2 days or knocked herself onto something :p Think if our bb late bloomers in learning all these, ok bah. M not too worried as long as she doesnt fall sick till go hospital. Super scare of that :p

I also give bb abt 2 full solid/day with a mini solid like fruit puree in the mid afternoon. I alternate the cereal w fruit for lunch. Dinner i give fish/pork porridge or plain root veg. However think i wd reduce the # of times for root veg for dinner. Hb says maybe too much too often/wk on plain root veg may not be too gd for bb. Need to find out more.

piggy_mummy: Xavier is taking three main solid + milk feed after porrisge and one milk feed before he sleeps.

Breakfast: you can give him fruit cereal. Normally, I will steam apples or grapes, mash up and add into the cereal.

Lunch and Dinner: Porridge can add in fish/ meat with vege. You can add in apples or cheese to spice things up. A balance diet will be able to help you slot all things in which u wanna give to baby. After every meal if baby still wants milk, you can continue with it.

Good idea, thanks! I'll go down if I find time, it's a lot more hectic now that we got rid of our maid at last! No replacement, we're managing on our own for now.

Summer's Mama,

Ethan has learnt how to rub his tummy to indicate hunger. That's the only baby signing he knows thus far.
One thing though, he sometimes rubs his tummy towards the end of or after a feed. It's funny, hubby and I think he's signing to tell us he's full

Started my dd on HB in the afternoon and Si Sen Zhao Mi at night.. Anyone has problem with their child not drinking water. My gal doesn't even want a sip, I worry as her urine quite yellowish...

Same here, has started teaching sign language to shevon but no signs from her yet. Only mention of the things like milk will see her interested
 
Simp, certain actions are harder but milk is easier so i guess that explains her interest. Summer smile or giggle when i say milk and use the action.
I think we have to use it very regularly when talking to them, in order for them to learn.
 
Yvonne, I intend to start with basic words like "milk", "hungry", "dirty".
Each time when you speak to your baby, you use the sign language at the same time.
Etc "do you want your milk?" when u say the milk word u do the milk sign at the same time.
There are some DVDs and books on the signs. Or you can surf youtube. Seems like it's very popular in other countries.
Baby signing is supposed to aid babies who cant talk to express themselves and hence they would be less frustrated when they are able to express themselves. They will then be more confident and calm babies.
 
I've been signing with julian since he is 5 months. he will respond but doesn't know how to sign. been signing milk, all done, bubbles, duck, eat. will slowly add on.
 
oh I didnt know got universal baby sign language one haha. Kayla learns from my mom: she now knows bye bye, angry, clap hands, gongxi, aeroplane, nod her head (yes), shake her head (no), love, high-5, stick out tongue, scared, pointing, kiss...hahaha...if that's considered baby signing :p
 
calamari, woah ur mum is a really good teacher! have been trying to teach my boy to clap, but to no avail. he doesn't even allow u to hold his hands to guide him through the action. kayla is so smart! any tips for success?

maomi ah, i also dunno how my mom taught her leh...everyday I come back, she learnt a new action haha. I think my mom just repeats and repeats. My mom will get all excited teaching and talking to her one. More enthu than me :p Kayla likes to imitate i think.
 
i think kayla is a very expressive baby! i read somewhere about language &amp; communication, and is divided into 2 parts 1. understanding, 2. expressing oneself, and some babies may do 1, but not 2, but i think kayla is one of those who does both! does she already know how to speak? she must be very aware of her surroundings to be able to imitate all that...very good leh!
 
maomi: i think she is like me, will talk first, then walk. I only walked at 18 months leh, can die hahahha! SUPER SLOW...but I talked at 10 months :p She only knows mamamama and papapapa, but its definitely not calling hubby and I lor, cos we refer to ourselves as daddy and mummy hahaha....its a fluke surely.

why don't u start with BYE BYE first? just keep repeating and repeating...hehe.

Calamari, wow Kayla is impressive to have learnt so much..

I'm still trying to teach Adel gongxi and clap. At first when i taught her clap i clapped her hands together for her, and then no success so i showed her she can bang 2 toys she's holding together to make a noise (like clapping) and then she happily bang away. She can also use her toy to hit a toy i'm holding, much like the hi-5 she already knows. I think she's realy enjoying her noise-making capabilities cos since then she's banging stuff on other stuff (if she's holding a toy) or simply using her bare hands to hit stuff to make noise -_-

Any other actions i'm trying to teach her she just gets super excited to see me do it, laugh and kick her legs in excitment whenever i say clap and clap my hands, wave goodbye etc.. hiaz..

just to share with fellow GD mummies, ikea has a SNACK box which fits the GD cards very well (much like the original cardboard box of the English kits). I found it a hassle to open the cardboard box daily to get the new cards so loaded the ikea box with some days worth of new cards as well as the entire stack of dot cards. then from there prepare my daily cards.

Kayla already crawling and has sprout a whitish dash on one of her top middle tooth! But thot its kinda weird that babies sprout top tooth first leh?

Lynn, how was the session wif Lawrence? I haven done the division equation yet... given Kayla quite a long break wor so need to start by this weekend. Then can proceed to the next lesson. Wanna check with Angel if she has finished with Dana too...
