Koori, yes it is a burning sensation when passing urine - that is UTI. I've seen GP ysterday and have to take anti-bodics. Today, I'm feeling much much better. GP ask me to drink more barley water... it will help.

Re Fan
Yes it is the caltex twin turbo air regulator. requires 2800pts to exchange. It is v. powerful. Lagi better than the Akashi Fan that we bought from Giant. Further more, the air is not blowing at bb direct, and you can adjust the strength of the 2 fans separately. My bb Jay initially has heat rashes, but now ok already.

tsukushi, have to take care of yourself.. no nice also must eat well. No matter what must not starve during confinement cos it will affect our future health. Must stay healthy so as take care of our little one. Cheer up and dont let CL issue to affect you...

thanks ladies
felt better after talking to a friend today. my cl seems nice to us sometimes but I just get triggered with some of her remarks. her body odour makes me lose appetite already . already tried to eat for last 15 days, guess I hit my tolerance limit.

I broke almost all confinement rules. bathed with herbal water but found the water quite dirty so I rinsed with tap water. I also washed hair though not every day. I also took cold drinks occasionally. fan n aircon all blow already. what else?

maybe u will lose a lot faster if u have my cl. so sweaty..feel like asking her to bathe more often. I can't find her toothpaste n brush in the toilet too. now suspect that she's sick too cos I hear her coughing n blowing nose. if she's really sick, is it mean of me to ask her to go, or risk getting hb, bb n myself infected?

tsukushi, ya me oso nv really follow all the confinement rules. me oso shampoo my hair after 4th day cos cannot tahan anymore so oily then need 2 bring bb out check-up somemore, if doc see me so dirty oso scared..... but hv 2 blow dry quickly after wash. Ya weather so hot me oso hv fan & air-con on most of the time. My CL said is ok 2 hv the fan & air-con wan.

i've already lost the weight which i need t but still fat and flabby near tummy area! Wonder what can i do huh? Cant massage yet coz i had C-sec. Dr says must wait at least 1 mth.

tsukushi, i broke all the rules. I bathe and wash hair every night before bedtime. I didnt blow dry, just towel dry, coz i'll feel sweaty if i blow dry. I'll go out almost everyday to walk walk, go shopping and even drank cold drinks. So shiok. My gynae gave e go-ahead, saying it's betta not to follow confinement rules. Not sure wat's the impact in the future though. But he did mention that i'm very lucky coz got no one nagging at me. haha.

Think I am also quite guai. I havnt started bathing but used herbal water to wipe/clean myself daily. Hair really stinks. Think hair is the stinkest. The 1st week, i drank water as the confinement water caused e to lose my voice, got sore throat the 2nd day after delivery. Faintz. Then my girl as a result got dehydrated then i heck and drank water. After come back home, i drank red date tea as water warm and cool hee. Shiok but perspired like cold sweat. Thought i am so weak. Now coming to end 3rd week, i perspire less in the middle of the nite in aircon room. Actually my tcm doctor encouraged me to bathe in our weather, mind u, she is from shanghai but u know, my mum's generation, traditional rules. It shall end here and now. Next time, when my daughter do confinement, i will let her bathe, sleep in aircon and eat what is healthy as long as she drink warm water, bathe in warm water hee. She should be spared from all this rules and i shall let her know whether the old rules realli help. Already my feet scared of cold, alreadi got backache before married, alreadi body is so weak went for operation before pregnant. I wonder how true confinement is 100% true. I doubt only abt 50% valid to build up body's loss haha. Think i am letting out here. Mum says i can only wash hair next thursday, a few days before my full month.

tsukushi, not sure about ginger thingy. I dont take ginger at all, cant stand the taste. But now, about 3rd week after delivery, i dont feel there's much wind in my stomach already. Initially first week, yes, can feel stomach churning and kept farting without control.

Mushloom, yes. Very flabby le. Even i use binder also like no difference.

Cheesycake, when i was BF-ing i also give pacifier coz the sucking sensation is supposed to give babies a sense of security. But my baby will just spit out the pacifier unless i keep holding on to it.

Re:confinement
I would think it's quite impossible not to bathe in our kind of weather. Seems like most gynaes will encourage us to bathe and even to go out. I would think that it's more important to eat a balanced and healthy diet, drink lotsa water rather to stick strictly to confinement food, which is making alot of us fall sick due to its heatiness.
So far, i'm quite happy with my "confinement". No rules, No CL, not confined to home. I'm not sure whether i'll let my girl do what i did now. Perhaps i'll have to wait and see if there's any undesirable effects of my "confinement"

Simp - tik u are the most guai, haven bath till now. I already bathed on Day 11, but only alternate days since then. From delivery till now, only washed hair once, tmr shall wash again.
Now i got UTI, tik too much heaty food and not enough fluid, shall drink more warm water from now on, if not how to recover, sian.

They say can make use of confinement to build up ur health, since u say got some prob with body perhaps see if after confinement whether ur body gets better.

re : confinement 30 or 40 days..
I only drink red dates water, milo and essence of chicken. I bathe with little dreamer wash almost everyday after the the first 2 wks. but i refrain from washing hair w/o the herb water. I wash hair when i need to go out for checkup etc. When my bb full mth, i wash hair normally liao. I think it all depends on individual.I recover quite fast physically, most of my relatives that come to visit during the confinement say.. my face color very good, dun look like in confinement. My lips are very very red until my mother also dun want to feed me too much tonic.

i just left my bb crying for the last 1 hr.. she is getting too much attention liao..
yesterday, i had to hold her to sleep for 1 hr then put her next to me to sleep for the night cos' she cries when i put her down and my hubby need to work early the next day.. so i got no choice but to pacify her.

Nope, consultation at $40. If you want to include rotavirus (2 doses) and pneumococcus (3 doses) it will be $1440. My PD is Dr Koey.

sherin quite worth it hor... i asked my pd his side for the 6-in-1 is $155 per jab and on top of that need to pay him for consultation. so was thinking of going to GP for the jabs.

i am using pampers for nite time.

so far for confinement, i am eating normal food juz that cl will cook with some ginger. no tonic cos i am bfing and my son is "heaty" based. so cannot eat those bu yao to build up my health. according to her, if wanna bf, then hard to build up health for mom. if wanna build up the health for mom then hard to bf. can only choose 1 wor.

mushloom: my pd also charge $155 per jab. I find raffles cheaper because 3jab + 3 consultation is $420(w/gst). Yeah , gp cheaper but not sure if they monitor bb's growth or not. The gp near my place has long waiting time so dun think i willgo to them.

I use pampers also.

mushloom: I drink chicken essnce every morning after morning feed.I think it helps me to recover quite fast.

me intend to bring my son to the pd at bukit timah plaza instead of kinder clinic. $120 per jab and this pd was my hubby's pd too. heard that she is very experience and gentle with babies. that day brought my son for jaundice blood test at mt a. my son was crying n screaming. feels to sim tia to see him like tat. so would prefer someone who has a reputation for being gentle with babies ba. maybe he will still cry but hopefully not so much lor.

Haha this is one of my short listed PDs. i called them this morning. Here is list of prices from them (sorry can't vouch for accuracy cos i m noob with these immunisation things, pls take as rough gauge ...)

Consult = 40+
Hep B jab = 40
5 in 1 = 80
Pneumococcal = 175

seems cheaper than those packages i've read about (6/7 in 1 etc) but not sure if they compare like-to-like, for e.g. what exactly is a 5-in-1? :S

Anyway the clinic pple say just bring baby down at 1 mth, get the Hep B jab, + routine check (length, weight etc) and discuss more.

The other PDs i am looking at in the west are:

Kidslink @ Jurong East (Blk 353, Jurong East St 31, Opposite Chinese Garden MRT) and

Singapore Paeds Clinic
(502 Jurong West Ave 1)

Anyone has reviews for these clinics, do contribute!

Hopefully my health becomes better if not then i think confinement prob refers to building up health for ladies with no health issues.

I use mamy poko and pampers, both good except that i prefer pampers as they have indicators that changed colour when bb pees.

I am hesitant on taking the 6-in-1 or 5-in-1 jabs as i thgt initially not compulsory. But PD dr keoy at tmc says the jabs r compulsory. Then i read that MMR can cause autism also but this is also compulsory in spore. How. I thgt TMC package like a bit expensive for 6-in-1 jabs excluding consultation. Think raffles hospital, polyclinics and GP are the cheapest. I also prefer to visit PD esp for children at such a young age. Have mummies who are done with full month taken their bb for 2nd dosage of Hep B?

ah, glad to read ur rec for chilli padi. i think i will try them for 1st month celeb with my family side.

my ILs side celebration is done seperately, my MIL has requested for vegetarian buffet.

hv u chosen cake shop for the cakes to give relatives, friends etc? I think i may be going for Choz (cos shop is relatively nearer to home) or Melrose . I think Melrose gives more bang for the buck though.

I'm feeling ok. everyday is sama sama LOL quite glad to be at work, at least got things to occupy my time & attention with. however since my edd is 21 april, n i hv a gynae appt tomorrow, i think i may make this Friday to be my last day at work. if bb decides to nuah inside somemore, i expect by 25th or so, we will hv to drag him out kicking and screaming anyways LOL . so that'll be at most a week's rest at home, which isn't too long.

meantime, i m surfing around for first month celebration stuff.
