Hi ladies, just wanna share something with you if you work in the Raffles Place area. Me and some colleagues were at golden shoe for lunch yesterday. 4 of us ordered fish soup at this popular shop on the 3rd floor. Mine came first and I started eating. When my colleague’s one arrived, she realized that there were little insects floating in the soup! The rest of us started inspecting our bowls closely and realized that all the bowls also had quite a few little insects floating in the soup! Dunno how many I swallowed already before that ;-( We told the shop owner, but as the insects were really tiny, he keep saying that it is not insects and did not pay much attention to us. Did not even bother to come take a look at the rest of the bowls except the one we brought to him. He offered to replace but we did not want, who knows if the next bowl will have insects also?? We are very sure that they were insects as we could see wings and legs for some of the bigger insects. He did not even bother to offer us a refund. We ordered something else, and after finishing our lunch, we went to look for him again. He refunded us this time, but his attitude was very bad, he said that since it is dirty, next time don’t bother to eat. Fine with me, I don’t think I will eat at his shop again.
We were very pissed off with his attitude as we are regular customers of this shop. I eat it almost everytime I go Golden Shoe. We even reported to NEA, they said they will come and inspect the shop but I don’t think they will find anything by the time they come. We could not take pictures as the insects were very tiny, so camera phone cannot capture it. If u need to know which shop this is, pls PM me.

nepia diaper suppose to be good recom by other mum-already and cheaper than the better brands like pampers. I guess we wont know if our bb like it until they are born.
As for the confinement shampoo n bodywash, some mother has use it instead of the regular shampoo n bodywash. It just a pre-caution. how harmful is bathing/washing hair during confinement and how useful these items are , still remain unknown
but it good to know that these items contains the herbs that our parents recomm.

U must be careful there man, once I saw a very preggy mum almost slipped & fall... due to some idiot who dropped watermelon on the floor. Quite slippery & crowded so be careful babe. Especially people carrying hot soups there.

I got very serious constipation for 5 days... this morning when I eating my noodles, eat halfway puke out everything. Now dont feel like eating noodles anymore... but still feeling hungry but no appetite, I drink 1/2 cup of anmum milk. Then manage to poo a little bit...*sob sob* Now taking some medicine to soften the stool... poo poo so pain nowadays...
Went to see gynae 2 days ago, got very bad water retention and sudden increase of 5kg, so got to do blood test. I see the needle i cry and cry....Then today my mom cook red bean soup for me, she say will reduce water retention swelling.
How come so many problems... now still worried about the blood test result.

Dun fret, try drinking prune juice, mix with water? Dun take Anmum if u hv constipation, very heaty. I stopped when I hv constipation. Try eating more papayas & bananas. Drink more water as it helps relieve water retention, sounds wrong but it's true. Dun think water retention means u hv to reduce water intake.
I hv my own problems like blurring vision which my gynae is monitoring. My blood pressure is normal so that's a relief. Heartburn is my worse nitemare, which I also hv to monitor if I hv dizziness & blood pressure porblem. So dun panic babe, each mum experience different problems. take care and have lots of water and fruits. Try to take porridge as it soften the stools and help in constipation.
Usually i will try porridge diet for 2 - 3 days until poo poo becomes normal and then go back to the normal dishes. No oily / fried food cos it will aggravate the situation.
i having overweight issue. Sigh... now only 31 weeks but already 17kg... going to 18kg gain... sigh... biggest mummy in the thread.
Chessycake, i can update the latest weight gain for bb & mum tomorrow cos i will be going to gynae tomorrow. sob sob... sure get nag by gynae cos 1 kg gain every week. No way to reduce... (with all the pineapple tarts & bak gua & ice kachang - recent favorite).

mayb u can try 2 take some sweet potatoes soup cos last week when i attend the anetnatal course our taecher Mrs wong say we can take sweet potatoes if we hv constipation.

Muzicgal: Drink more prune juice. It helps in relieving constipation. Eat more fruits if you can. Sometimes, when I poo also very pain. All the stools are dry and hard, till I dun dare to poo .. But no choice.. Once I get the feeling, immediately I will run to the toilet.

hi muzicgal, ya, do try to drink more plain water and u wun get water retention! Eating prunes helps too. Whenever I have difficulty with my bowels, I wld take a few sunsweet prunes! V effective!!!

Just went for my check up last fri. Gained 3kg instead of my usual 1kg at each check up. Was told by the doc that my baby's weight is in the 97th percentile. Coz baby is big, doc asked me to go back for diabetic test the next day on sat, Had three tubes of blood drawn... Still dun quite understand how did it all happened, just last visit i was still worried that baby is too small then suddenly this visit i was told baby is too big... Haiz now doc told me no pigging during CNY coz baby is big liao... Then crossing my fingers now hoping that my test results are alright
