jesline -

I am stopping BJG. My teacher for 2 terms is SHIHUI. I find her not bad. April is another good one. Annie n Elenor are not bad too.

MyGym - I only been to trial n bday party. typically they will hv 3helpers there. dunno who is who. haha

MTDT,
there are shelters at the treehouse area, but I find them not much use lor.. tentage can be arranged at the pool side buffet area but the public still can access the pool so not much privacy.. If it's a small gathering then I think it's worth going there to swim and order snacks and drinks from the snackbar at the poolside.

Bowling there no function room, but can make use of the cafe area. Got nice pool view cos the bowl face directly in front of the pool. Can see chio mei mei walking in bikinis.. wahaha.. But my husband said the flooring no good, so he never bowl there.. Bowl at Tessensohn CSC clubhouse is better.

We will hold Alfred's party at home. It's the most comfortable place to him. Whenever he feels tired can just take a nap in his room.. keke..

Hi,

I am doing Jayden 1st birthday at hometeam ns - bukit batok, Guilin Restaurant. Its a buffet, starting from $10 + 5% gst per pax.

YT,
Alfred's party will start at 1pm but probably will end late in the afternoon. If you bring Jayden back to jurong can join us for dinner

Dun know why it doesnt work on Janelle last time.
I was thinking to train Julian to sleep alone in the room.

blessings,
I have 2 versions in my bbrecipe blog, share with u:
A) Cheesy Alphabet Pasta

Preparation time: 20 minutes
Yield: Four 1/2 cup servings

1/4 cup fresh mixed veggies, finely chopped
1 cup water
3 tablespoons alphabet pasta
2 tablespoon butter
1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
Salt (optional)

1. Steam the veggies in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until tender.
2. While the veggies are cooking, boil the water in a medium saucepan and add the alphabet pasta and butter. Cook the pasta until tender and drain.
3. Add the veggies to the pasta and stir in the cheese until the cheese melts. Salt to taste and serve warm.

B) PASTA

4 or 5 Tablespoons of Tiny "ABC" Pasta

4 Tbsp of Lentils, rinsed
1/2 cup frozen mixed vegetables
1/2 cup Broccoli Florets, washed

Put the "ABC" pasta with the lentils in a small pot with HOT water and cook until it boils. Then turn down the heat & slowly simmer for another 15 to 20mins until both the pasta & lentils are soft.

Put the frozen mixed vegetables & the broccoli in a bowl with a little HOT water. Cover with Microwave Plastic Wrap. Put in microwave to cook on high for about 4 to 5mins. Then put in an Electric Blender/Chopper to chop the vegetables
fine.

Mix the chopped vegetables with the pasta/lentil mixture. It is then ready to eat!

hong,
quite true lor.. she used to sell fishball noodle (used to be a famous stall at chomp chomp many years back), later after married sell popiah and other stuff at Jurong east area.. but hawker style not equal to healthy style.. so most of the time I have to step in and remind her not to put so much oil and seasoning..

Joline,
My grandmother used to sell noodles too and the way she dump the MSG is horrifying.
Whenever she cooks, she tends to add alot of oil, salt etc...

We have to remind her constantly too.

My grandpa is a better cook but he is no longer ard. Pretty sad, he never impart much of his skill to the children. My mum always said it was such a pity that none of them know how to make the savoury new yr cake. Where my grandpa add fatty meat & Yam to make the new yr cake. Very nice....

Ladies...

Anyone here interested in Shicida Method?

I have lobang for a home based SM course at bishan conducted by ex teachers of SM.

Those interested can PM me for more details. There is a preview coming up next weekend.

Thanks

joline - thanks for the detailed instructions on how to bake the macaroni...will try it out next week. i'm also csc member & stays in the west. I love to bring my girl to the Bukit Batok CSC for swim too...but she's a little scared of the wave pool when the waves start...think the sound of the waves etc but i try to sit & play with her near the edge...think must slowly help her to conquer her fear...rather than avoid it. R u an sahm? Maybe we can go together in future? i'm going delta tmr too...but probably will reach around 4 or 4.30...depends on my girl's nap time.

may - yes my ger's starting to throw things too when she's unhappy. I've tried explaining to her, saying no firmly, slapping her on her hand but dun seem to work leh...she can even slap my hand back...faint! she's quite bad tempered when she's not happy...sometimes i pity them oso, they cannot tell us why they r unhappy and we can only guess...

lena - ya, my ger used to nibble at the finger brush too when i use it on her...quite funny..but now she BITES!!! n it hurts enough to make me yelp! hhaha so me got phobia now cleaning her teeth...

Joline,
Thanks so much for the recipe....reading itself already seem to taste yummy! ;) Where to get lentils? How does it look like? I only eat it when I have indian food leh.

any mummies using fire/gas to prepare bb food? I have been using slow cooker.

May
My girl starts to throw things out from her stroller since 2 mths ago. No matter how I discipline or tell her, she still does the same. After she throws the item more than 3 times, I will take it back from her.

Hi Mummies,

Brushing - Audric hate brushing his teeth whenever i tried to brush his teeth, he will push away the brush or struggle until i give up. He really bad-tempered will scream n scream non-stop. Now his teeth also yellowish, i really scare he will have tooth decay.

Ylc,

Its very hard to reason out with Audric, i will faint. When I scold him, he will be scare at that moment so i think its works for me. Haha

cottagefry,
how much rice and water do you put in rice cooker in order to make porridge? My rice cooker is quite big. How about the ingredients, meat and etc?

Aiyo,

headache when planning the menu for my caitz! What i do is to prepare the stock in advance then when she wants to eat noodles or macaroni, then i will use the stock to make soupy stuff. If not then rice with fish/meat & veg n soup from the stock. She no longer likes porridge. Everyday need to change her menu or else she wont wanna eat... she is a fussy eater!

Joline,
Haa...haa...I'm not a chocolate person leh...

Zoe,
The thing is Kay eats & drink very little now...today worst... She only drank 1oz of milk...her pathetic 1 bowl of porridge for the whole day. I'm very worried so I kept feeding her bits of white bread & baby yoghurt.
Now, she can't even finish her fav apple puree & already totally reject her brown rice.

She's getting thiner & thiner & already no strength to pull herself up...somemore she's stopped trying to walk liao.

NO milk + Solid...it's really bad.

YB,

sounds serious huh!!! maybe change her menu?? feed kay the food like how i feed caitz? i made kway teow soup for caitz today n she liked it. keep wanting more. Remember Caitz used to eat lesser than kay? I changed her menu then now at least eat more n more.

Sigh... next meeting i cook more then let kay try also? If she likes then u cook for her??

As for milk, maybe try switching brands? Is she teething thats y rejecting both solids n milk? Last time caitz also like that... maybe Kay coming out more teeth? nothing to do with the porridge or the milk??

ello mummys, ello everybody...

wow so much postings to catch up! so many wonderful recipes & parenting ideas & etc...

seth's is still BF on e whole but REJECTING all solids incl: porridge / bread / cereal... will only eat a couple of nuby sized spoons then start throwing tantrums & stuff i used to occupy him during feedings.. some days when i'm not home during dnr, i simply skip e hassle duh... except eating snacks he best ord... will open mouth big big... feed him porridge or cereal, shut his mouth till as if i'm feeding him poison... HOW???

i'm a hopeless mummy, cant cook at all, rather not very motivated & lazy anyway, esp when he dont eat solids... ccok all day dont eat, waste le...
thou i'll love to try some pasta.... but i'll stick to feeding him whatever my MIL cooks for us bah...

how much food should they be eating?
how much milk should they be drinking?

my folks-in-law, all say seth too slow, not growing, no strenght to walk blah blah blah.. wtf, as if i'm starving him! is he dont wanna eat mah! but i think he's doing great! keeping track all his milestones, seems ok... heck.....

cheese :: can try kiri chz, think its ok for bb...

erm anybody recommend any soft shoes good & cheap for 1yr old?

as for brushing teeth, we're using pigeon toothbrush, we kinda play a little so he'll allow me to brush a bit...

yes ladies, cya tml 4pm @ delta! =)

PM,
If E like whipped potatoes, may be u can prepare one potatoes meal for E? Potatoe has better mineral n vit than rice. May be just add some mashed vege as the filling, add some cheese to mix with the vege and eat with the potatoes.

How abt adding potatoes into his porriage?

YB,
there must be a reason that Kay behave this way. Is she teething again? My aunt told me there is one soup that pple cook for those kids who are skinny. U can try when Kay is older.

Use the roots from Peanut plant and cook with chicken. u need to wash the roots till very clean to cook the soup else the soap with have a soil taste.

Anyone hear of this before?

Hong,

Ya,heard of that peanut root soup bef..my IL used to pass me the root & my hb claimed that it is nice but i dun dare to cook..hee..I heard "shi shen tang" also good in boosting appetite, not sure how true also..there is a kind of med for kiddies who have low appe, can ask for sample from clinic to try..

how abt Pedisure? maybe after 1yrs old... can change to tat.

also heard tat Pharmaton Kiddi Syrup help too. My fren's doc recommends to her and her kids now very kai wei. (can be found in most phar)

hong, mmmm mashed potatoes, with vege... n cheese. sounds yummy.

yb, hmm. maybe kaylyn very smart. knows that u going to give her white bread/yoghurt so she act like donwant her porridge? then cos she snacks then later it affects her milk/solids... or ya, maybe like the rest say, try other things other than porridge.

foodwise - kristen loves tofu (good source of proteins!).. so sometimes just cook some tofu with chicken soup n when go jap restaurant she gets her own agedashi tofu. she loves potatoes too. oh. n meesua. had to top up the bowl.

mtdt, what's kai wei?

brush teeth - also using first teeth the finger brush. but she bites super hard. no mercy. otherwise, she likes the taste of the apply-banana gel so she'll open her mouth willingly when she sees the rubber finger. -_-

Yah, YB was abt to recommend u Pediasure. I think Kaylyn going to one, u might one to try to buy a small tin to let her try. Else, can go buy appetite booster...I use B12 for Emerson last time on top of that, I also use si sen powder add into his milk. If u keen i can pass u some si sen powder.

Peanut soup? CAn our bb drink?

I am going batam TOMOLO.... hooray. haha

Peach - so new job starting when? any time to rest before tat? where is ur new office?

Pedisure - dun need to buy first...
call for sample. they will give u a small tin.

think i going to adopt hong's mtd again... feed zav varity of milk powder. i hv soooo many diff kinds of milk samples at home now. haha

OC,

Ya..pure one v ex..but think got small bottle type abt $50 or less..i bought 1 bot since my #1 & now still using for my #2 (but the smell abit not nice liao)..hee..v useful for craddle cap & dry skin too..at first i dun belive the effect on mosquitoe bite..but it really works lor..u can buy the small one & share with other mummies ..now got sell those small travel bot mah

olive oil - I bought a very cheap one at the pharmacy (at KK, never go look at the rest).. think only 6 bucks? It was meant to clear out Kristen's ears. But I remember the pharmacist said that cannot keep for long. Once it smells funny shld throw away.

CG,

I use half cup of rice, i did not measure the water. My rice cooker has the function of cooking congee. Its takes about 30 to 40 mins. For the ingredients, i just dump everything in. Haha!

Where to get ABC pasta?

YB - U can try Pediasure. The abbott consultant told me is meant for babies that is underweight and fussy eater. It will boost your baby weight. But its not suitable for babies that have good weight.
