Thank godness..mum call me and say juz now lighting strike into our her house , she was carry v to close the windown the lighting came into the window from another direction and hit the sofa & tricycle! Whole house blackout & V tricycle spoilt It was so bright that V keep crying and now my mum cant let her downwat a close sharp!

Mommies pls be extremely careful. when u suspect got lightning anywhere, just hide! My maid's aunt just got strike by lightning at home and passed away!

Hmm..when lightning strikes best to avoid standing near the windows & also to refrain from using any elec appliances. All HDBs has lightning rods on the roof which leads the elec down to the earth thru the lightning plates along the walls. Therefore generally it's safe.

However sometimes, the lightning will hit other objects & the elec will bounce to other conductor(i.e. metal win/tricycle) so that it can travel back to ground.

Mayb tat's y fengshui specify not gd to have bed or sofa near the win?:p

Aiyo... i m wondering where to hide if lightning strike my home... sigh... no where to hide leh unless hide in wardrobe... so scary... i think must ask my hb to move furniture liao...
 
I encounter once before too... scary manz

I was carrying K feeding milk sitting on my sofa, my neighbour and her bb came and visit us... was raining with thunder and lightning. Sudden, one loud thunder follow by lightning strike into my living room loh.. the whole hse orange col... wah lau, scare the hell of me loh.. My neighbour's son was crying non stop... I was holding K soooooooooo tight..

U stay at high flr or facing empty field hah? Usually if lightning manage to siam the conductor, the units must be v high up as the ligtning path can only travel at certain angle, so higher flr got higher chances of kana hit. Those fronting bare land also cos no blockage to the path & if it miss the earthing rod, it may hit thru the window..scarry..just avoid window/glass/openings area during strong lightning

I oways thought that is safest to hide at home during raining days but haiz..looking forward to 6pm I wan to home hugz my gal!
 
pooh...sofa to window is quite a far distance leh..imagine the lighting can strike from window to the main door (5 room old model flat) where V tricycle is...that veri far!

Ya my mum stay at the highest floor with a open field..maybe that the reason lighting can strike in!
 
Zita..wonder can complain to HDB bo, take pictures of the damages & lodge in to HDB with a incident report, see what they can do to prevent such things from happening again..

ya lor... my sofa near window one... aiyo... strike then sure die one lor!! gives me the shivers whenever i think abt it!!! I hugged my little ger just now n told hb that in future rain with/without thuder n lightning, we'd better try to stay away from the open. But luckily my hse not facing any open area lor... if kena its the other block to kena first hehe

yah...better if our blk is surrounded by other blocks...cos lesser chance to kena lightning.

Today my hb told me his car nearly kena by a fallen tree trunk in the car park. Luckily hb was at the lobby waiting for the rain to subside.

hi mummies.. long time no post.. sigh.. so sad.. i think life is so vulnerable... sigh... why can't everyone just be healthy and live happily ever after....

anyway, have been very tired lately.. and am ill also.. having sore throat and runny nose.. and starting to have abit of fever. Germayn is also having runny nose...those yellowish thick mucus. And my MIL said it's cos she's drinking my milk that's why she's ill. Hai. I dont feel it's true leh. next week will be my last week with my current company. abit of..mixed feelings. haha.

Anyway, peach, sorry, have not collected the liners from you. think can collect from you when i start work the week after. haha. cos i'll be working in Tampines. Sorry about it ar....

she is ok with the long ride but the coach was too cold and i think she caught a cold and was fever for 4 days there.

However, she got to see live chicken, ducks, goats, heard rooaster "waking" everyone up. I also get to show her diff kind of plant.
