pm, understand what you mean. normally, when i go for outings, unless ppl talk to me abt babies, i'll be quite quiet. my uni frens are getting married one by one, and one of them is preg now, so not so bad. mabbe one of these days we can meet up with sheila and freda. haha. we'll definitely have topic to talk abt. haha.

And I am also the 1st to get married and have BB...a but lost freedom ar..

Should apply cold compress to Charlene's forehead within the 1st 24hrs to reduce the swelling...Then apply hot compress to soothe the blood cot the next day. My mum works in chinese medical hall & she taught me tis method..even if u dun c any swelling, still better to apply cold compress for a while. Cos sometimes, the swell might be internal (touch wood). Monitor for vomiting & prolong period of sleeping.

Ya lor..my hb went casino early in the morn wif his parents when me & Kaylyn sleeping in cabin. Then abt 9am plus, his mum called me thru the cabin phone & ask if I waken liao..me blur blur, somemore so dark, thought she's looking for hb. Then keep shouting at hb to answer phone, then discovered he's not around.

By the time I wanna answer the phone again, MIL already hang up. Then bb kena woken by the commotion. Then in hb's haste to go gamble, he took away all the access cards wif him. There's no way to contact him & I can't leave the room cos scared later cannot come back in. Then have to wait & wait for him to finally come back from casino until I'm already starving!! Am fuming MAD!

Then he still think he's right & give me silent treatment when I show him black face. Didn't even helped me when I was pushing Kaylyn in the pram down the escalator on the way back to HarbourFront. The pram wheel got stuck to the side of escalator & I almost fell down with bb in the pram. Luckily got 1 indian man behind quickly pull us to safety. But hb was walking way in front with PILs talking happily, dun even know. Hiaz... %$#!&

Hb says since he got bonus, so wanna invite his parents to cruise cos they've nvr been there before...backside itchy lor!! Anyway, they did enjoy themselves, only me very miserable lor...I guess their side of the family very gian gambling in casinos...

Regarding social life:
It's like tat lor...cos being SAHM, our life centers around our bb & family. But I dun miss ofc politics at all! I only miss the financial freedom & wide social circles when I was working. Luckily got u gals to chat now..heehee

Kaylyn knows how to say pa-pa 1st, then da-da..then all of a sudden, she says ma-ma yesterday. So surprised. I think bb absorbs wat they hear everyday from adults, just tat they haven't figure out how to say the words.

i m speechless!!! Thk God the indian man "save" u n kaylyn!!! Well, the thgs we do for kids, they will feel it n appreciate us more than others!

hmm.. was deciding whether to go overseas with my ILs... now i think better think twice!!! but anyway... i'm independent enough so even if they leave me alone, i can handle cait n everythg by myself. Friday i took bus with Cait by myself... hehe so now nothing is impossible!!!

OK Girls.....me headache now....problem, problem...

I have been cooking porridge for my boy and till now (tried spoonfeed him he turned 6 months) he still clam his mouth shut. If I give him the teething biscuits or heinz biscuits, he will eat a few bites and the rest, he will treat it like a baseball bat and hantam everything in sight...haiz! Don't know why he is NOT eating via spoonfeeding....

Any suggestions? All ears...

It's not the case whether I'm independent or not...I can take care of Kaylyn too but it feels really bad when u see everyone enjoying except yourself...somemore, some places & shows do not allow children in, so no choice have to give up the idea.

Wat kinda spoon r u using to feed ur boy? I'm using Pigeon soft-tip spoon now, & Kaylyn is fine wif it..Last time I blur blur, use hard tip spoon & Kaylyn keeps crying...

Mayb ur boy is still getting used to the diff texture & taste? I noticed tat if Kaylyn likes the food, she'll sit nicely & still, kick her legs in excitement & open her mouth wide wide...otherwise, she'll clamp her mouth shut & start eating her fingers, clothings, tables & highchair...so quite easy to look out for sign when she has enough of certain food or simply not hungry. Try not to force food into their mouth, else they may develop phobia & rejects food. Which will bring more probs later on in life.

Har...my boy will take one mouth (just a bit), give me the "yuck" face and clam mouth shut for all types of porridge (porridge with chicken stock, with pork stock, with carrots, with pumpkin, with potato).

JP - Yes maybe the spoon matters and the place u feed him. Must train him to sit on hair chair or a rocker, so that next time u place him there, he knows its meal time. If u carry him, he might be distracted by the surroundings. Does he take jar food or spoon fed cereal?

YB - i understand what u mean by he cant see. My hubby likes to walk in front of us and not beside us when we go out together, so sometimes I nearly or almost fall with BB he also wont know.... and there's this thing abt him, he doesnt like to fetch us here and there. There was once, I nearly had an accident when i took taxi, the driver was reckless. I cried (coz i cant imaging losing emerson) and told hubby abt it, and ask if he will be guilty coz he indirectly coz accident towards us since he refuse to fetch. Sine then he dare not reject unless he has a very valid reason.
 
hi ylc & PM, my bb didn;t get to nap in the afternoon n was cranky n sleepy that's why went home so soon.

i only know kloe was beside me, other then dsiitan, Pm n OC, the rest i still dunno who is who.. haizz... wanted to stay ard to catch up abit.. too bad bb was cranky already.

G hates the Heinz jar food like the apple and pear. As for the rice cereal, have spoonfed him before...also don't like...haiz!!! What's more kang kor is that now hor, his milk intake also increasing to more than 1000ml per day. Its definately time to feed him solid but...me got problem...haiz, haiz, haiz!!!

Regarding the trial, it's almost or 90% like the positive infant class we attended when our bbs are 3 mths old.
Something new are the shakers/ bubbles/ and the rubber light thingy. U've got scarf and bells the other time as props. Songs they sing are same.

Misaryeo - Ure so hip! Finally got a chance to meet up with u,but too bad, we didnt have a chance to talk.. we been chatting since preg days. Anyway, u will attend MTDT's gathering?

Does he take spoon-fed milk? What about trying that and then slowly thickening it with some cereal then more and then slowly adding a bit of fruit or veg to the milky mixture? What about using your fingers to feed him? It's funny how my bb is the opposite. Feeding him milk is a challenge. He loves all solids. ;-)
 
YB, my hubby also capable of doing sure things de! so i can understand how u feel. i can feel ur frustration n anger!! pardon me mummies...*&*^%&#@#$! in fact i always quarrel wif my hubby regarding how my life has change and his hasn;t since our bb arrives.

my gf also gana the same kind of treatment when she goes holidaying wif mil n hubby. suddenly the responsibility of the little one falls to her.. all the others just push it all to her to handle while they enjoy their holiday.

Jp, i'm using avent spoon. it was part of the content when i get my warmer. sorry can't help much.

my boy quite a glutton, eat almost anything.

pm, i also hav the same prob wif my friends, epecially the younger ones. the lack of common topic makes me dun even wanna meet them sometimes. anyway, i have been very busy wif work, n bb.. if really free i will rather catch up wif my own stuffs like go gym or watch a movie wif hubby... really not much time left for friends.

Out of curiosity how long are you intending on staying a SAHM? I haven't slept for more than 4h at a stretch for ages and I'm ageing rapidly and I am thinking this is not a good thing.
 
Going overseas with HB or Inlaws,I have not have a chance since my boy turn 4 mths I always bring him along to overseas by myself,cuz hb busy with his work,FIL busy play mahjong ,fortunately bryan very cooperative when taking ferry to batam of take plane to taipei he never make much trouble for me.during weekdays some time I went out to shopping take bus or MRT he also behave well ,seem enjoying himself when ever I bring him out

Zoe - Was discussing this with hubby just a mth ago. Initial plan was til when E turns 18mths and I can put him under childcare... but we are not going to stop at one, and if Im planning for a second one, I shld be already working by then... and then we'll have the same prob of whose going to look after than. I wont want to quit my job again to look after BB. So tentatively, we're on the Project B2. Hahaha, yes, thats to have another BB... So that I dont have to be SAHM for so long. If successful, u see me gradually disappearing from the forums... Hahaha
U wanna work? Will it be more tiring? Coz haf to work in the day and take care of BB at night.. Equally no rest and have more stress.
 
Baby was cranky even when I got back home. Think have to choose trial class wisely now.. Once he miss his nap time, my day would be messed up too.

Anyway, happy to see all of you who went to the trial. I felt the +ve babies & +ve infant almost same same. So BnC will not be in my list if I want to sign baby to some form of class.

Lucida, Yes, me too. Waiting to go for other trials to decide which E is going. Actually I kind of set my mind of BJG or GUG (going this Tues)... still in the midst of "psycho-ing" my hubby in paying (of coz!) and ferrying us to and fro.

Emerson cant settle down too during the class coz he was tired, he was woken up by me, coz he's sleeping halfway when its time to leave the house...

My gal also rejects porridge, iregardless of wat ingredients I put in...once a while, she may take a few spoonfuls, but can nvr finish them.

My cruise not enjoyable leh...cos very mad wif hb lor...hiaz...but at least Kaylyn enjoys herself.

Some jar fruits are a bit sour, so bb may not like it...I gave Kaylyn fresh puree fruits & she can finish them all...banana is great cos no need to prepare since it's already soft..just use the spoon to scrap it & feed. Hassel-free..mayb u can try on ur boy & hopefully, he'll learn to take to the spoon?

The pigeon soft-tip spoon comes in 1 set...oval shape for solid food, & rectangle shape for soup & juice.

Man, I totally agree with the part that husband's lives don't change but ours become total chaos. Got angry with hubby once when we were supposed to go out and his idea of preparation is getting himself changed just before the appointed time and picking up Arin....never help to make sure she's fed, her diaper bag's pack, the vacumn flask has hot water, milk powder containers have the milk powder, etc etc....

btw, any mummies who went to Taka fair see any good deals on car seats?
 
YB - Yes, in fact he was still a new born baby then. Coz the route to my mum's place has alot of humps, the driver didnt bother to slow down and drove at the same speed. Me and E jumped up and down in the car. I was carrying him (sleeping position) one of the impact is so great that his head nearly knocked on the handle in the taxi... he's a newborn I cant imagine that. Another incident was that the driver was terying to avoid something, he swerved the car, me and E flew to the other end of the car.

Yr hubby is so sweet. My hubby if wana apologise, just say ok lah.. im sorry ok.. buy u presents next time (which never came true!)

Talking abt Julia Gabriel trial, I will call on Monday to chk n chase them a bit. They are supposed to call me back but nvr did. I think i better be pro active. Will inform all of you at a later date.

Nice meeting all mummies who attended the class! Went to pick up bib from YB after class and my gal fell asleep on the way there. Knocked out after being awake for many hours. Nowadays, she sleeps very little in the day.

Eeyore, sayang Charlene... maybe she remembered the hard knock she had in the morning and so cried very loud when she knocked herself again during the class. That happened to my gal the other day too.
