hi all
gave birth to bb arianne on 02 july. 2.8kg at mtA. natural with epi.
my birth story:
0845h - woke up with wat felt like diahorrhea.
went to toilet to ps but after felt mild menses cramp with contractions at 2 min interval. thot it might be bh so monitored for an hour.
1000h - called doc for advice. doc said if have bleeding or water bag burst then go straight to hospital if not can still monitor for another hour. woke hb up, he thot i was joking and wanted to go back to sleep.
1030h - went to toilet, saw show. called doc and was advice to go hospital. had breakfast, bathed, wash hair. pain more intense but still bearable.
1200h - arrived at mtA, proceeded to labour ward. took enaema to clear bowels. wait for doc to arrive.
1230h - doc came, did VE (quite uncomforatble but still ok). already 2-3cm dilated. burst water bag and realised bb already passed motion i.e amiotic fluid green. put on drip. contraction starting to become unbearable. bb eta ard 6-8pm.
1315h - wah, pain very bad. cannot take it already. tried gas but no effect. asked nurse for epi.
1345h - pain super unbearable but lucky doc came and administered epi. pain was relieved though still can feel slight pain on lower abdomen. decided to tahan. watch tv and dozing off.
1500h - that "slight" pain staring to bother me. asked nurse to increase epi dosage since thot have 3-4 hrs to go.
1630h - feeling very numb already legs down. doc came to check VE. said ok fully dilated already, can start pushing!! was in shock. within 10mins, a group of nurses came and set up for delivery. cant feel a thing so push when nurses say push.
1655 - push for 7-8 times. and bb arianne was out!
hb and i was was so caught off guard by how fast everything happened that we din have time to register the whole event. no kodak moments...
with the epi, my birth experience was quite pleasant, though i gave the anesthetist quite a scare as i had involuntary movement whilst he was injecting me. very dangerous he said but i really had no control!! as for side effects, my hands could not stop trembling. hb thot i was nervous.
motherhood has been blissful so far. love to watch my dd sleep. full bf to date. din know bf was so fulfilling though tiring as dd sleeps in the day and wakes up at nite to feed almost every 2 hrs.
will keep u all updated with further developements.
all the best to the rest of the mtbs who are waiting for the arrival of their little ones. motherhood is so rewarding, cant wait for u gals to experince it.
