Talking bout cordlife.. My hb complained to the manager the other day when Im at the hospital.. cos they say once u at the hospital, call them mah.. and as told my hb did that loh.. and before he can finish what he has to say, the other party just say.. "I will collect it tml morning" and end the call.. hb called the management made a big fuss about it loh.. haiz.. in the end.. never got my boy's cord!
 
Thanks, talkin to you all really makes me feel better. Maybe cos all my friends have big babies, so it's making me worried.

Finger joints starting to hurt today...Pelvic area also aching... so difficult to sit for that 8 hrs in office nowadays...

It's always good to be SAHM. My temp gal just called me.. saying that my that gu niang collegaue making things difficult for her.. when she ask him things, he simply just say he dun know which he's the best person to speak to! Waht a idiot right?

Fruitee, yr colleague is very bad leh.. heng he guy no need to go maternity.. otherwise he wil suffer his own retribution (oops! I say til so serious) Hahaha.... Last time before i PG and still working i very scare my colleague go on Maternity, coz we dont look for temp one, we just cover each other's duty...

TMC also screwed up loh.. our gynae somemore complained.. so now management of TMC are looking into this issue! Cos we bought the box down in case I deliver mah as stated by cordlife but the nurses from TMC kept asking us to take it with us.. in the end when I went for C-sect, hb forgot about it, the nurses also forget to ask.. wasted loh.. Gynae quite piss about it! then Cordlife manager called my hb loh.. say will give us total refund & apologize about it!

Cordlife is accredited with AABB which is like the international organisation for accrediting cord blood banking and cordlife gets audited by them every 2 yrs.

And their storage methods are different. Cordlife divides the blood into 80:20 while stemcord into 25:25:25:25.

There were also comments that stemcord have a lot of hidden cost. cordlife also have insurance tie up with income which will help cover medical cost in case of transplant, which is quite affordable.

I read through some of the comments of the two in the forum and we spoke to the Cordlife pple and we were quite impressed so we signed up with them. I emailed the Stemcord pple and they dun seem to be very interested...so we picked cordlife.

Initially, i have same concerns as you about banking for all our kids too. But both sides of our families got a lot of medical history. so decided to go ahead and play safe.

think the 2 companies have tie ups with different hospitals so depending where you delivering you get some form of discounts.
 
fruitee, thats very irresponsible! If i were u I will pursue abt it.. and write to ST forums instead of just taking the refunds and then accept their apology. To me, its an unacceptable mistake... they even advocate ppl to store cord so that so much..yet still screw that up! U create more havoc for them.. then maybe they will do more "service recovery" sicarly yr next BB free in TMC.. hehehe

ur room no fan? For my case, my living room is wall fan so abit far so end up i bring out the stand fan from the bedroom n place directly in front of me. But still abit sweating leh...Gosh!

We give birth in July that mean we have to clear by December for the 3rd mth ( Goverment paid leave ).
I got stuck, cos Dec my company got big project need me to be around. I come back during sept, need to do preparation work for Dec project till about October. That mean i have only October & Nov to clear the 20 workings days leave.

then i think you better take 3 mths of ML at one go. dont split the ML. your boss might not approve your leave during that period since you are being assigned to work on the big project.... is there any special reason why you must take 2 mths of ML first then followed by another 1 mth?

wow... seems like alot of SAHM in this thread... good loh, can nap anytime... me still gotta work and force my eyes open... sigh...
