Hi paranoidmummy,
Most probably my mum will be taking care of baby, cos my MIL too old. But dunno if she can cope cos now she's also looking after my sis's 2 young children. I'll see how it goes 1st lor...
I would like to go back to work cos I wanna enjoy spending my own money.

Yeah, it's true a lot of baby stuff are manufactured in Thailand. Last week when I went Kiddy Palace, I saw a lot of baby/children clothings also made in Thailand. But the ones I saw in BKK is much much nicer & cheaper too. I can't wait to go to Bkk for a shopping spree again!!

just came back from suntec city..went carrefour to get mamypoko NB...hmm...where got big pack..like 60pcs?? only 28pcs leh..and @$11 per pk..but now got promotion...free 3 pcs free..hehehe...then if u buy 2 packs..got 1 free musical toy...all the way to suntec..just to get the diapers..wahahaa....a bit siao hor...hehee

so ur MIL stays with u ah? then now u 2 can start planning what u want to eat during confinement loh...hehehe
i dun hv license leh..and hor..dare not drive lah..be chauffer ard better loh..haha...cos fruitee said there got mamypoko NB mah..so go and see loh...hehehe...yah..very crowded...shop abt 3 hrs then went back liao..

I stay with her rather, coz our house is not ready yet... but I will be going over to my granny's place for confinement, she's more experienced and knows my kuo wei. Yah, i dont hv license too, but I hope to get one soon, so tat I can drive around and wont be "handicapped" hahaha.. coz i very lazy to take public transport, sometimes I dont even wanna go out...

I have delivered my Keon on 14 June 2006, weighing 3.14kg@ 36 weeks, again, my gynae commented that if my boy keep to full term, confirm more than 4kg....
Now, for my labour story,
11am: Went to gynae, confirm to induce.
12pm: Had Lunch, initially wanted to go shop b4 admitting, but had contractions.
1pm: Reached Mt A,proceeded to delivery suite,checked dilation, already 1cm dilated, gynae burst water bag.
1.30pm: Anasetheis came along, coz requested for epidural....but never induce yet.
3pm: Induced....still having fun with hubby, taking candid shots...
5pm: Nurse checked...8cm dilated, got gynae prepared...first 3 pushes, no strength...gynae say use forceps, me scare...told gynae that I will do it on my own without the assist of forceps..3 more pushes, Baby Keon is finally out.
Was discharged yesterday, latch him on for the past few days, but rite now, havin sore nipples and slight bleeding, hence no latchin and pumpin, tryin to manual express.

Dsiitan, yup.. she's like 76 years old liao. COz my mummy also no experience. Both my mummy and my MIL totally lost on confinement. Only my granny.. coz she does it for everyone in the family..... but I will wake up for night feeds and wear disposable panties all the way. So she just need to cook for me and machine was my Bb's clothing and help me to take care of BB, not so siong on her. But I reckon too that I will have a hard time during confinement.... it's ultimately not as easy as having a FT CL.

Wow Li May, congrats!! how's Keon and u so far?? AT first i tot induce means go for C-section until I read yr labour story. hahaha.. so ben dan hor!
Care share with me how "induction" is being done?
TRy to apply some nursing cream on yr nipples.. maybe they will help?

He assured say shld be ok and i might deliver early too , maybe abt 110 days he said. looks like i'm not goign be hav a baby leo, but a baby cancerian...

edksd, it's powder detergent but i haven't used it yet. sales lady told me it's low sud.

Aiyo! How come the estimated of ur baby weights different so much from the actual weights. "Wu duan duan" make u worry these few weeks.
But ur case better. Ur know one of my girl friend just delivered 2.2kg baby last 2 months ago. Actually before that the gynae said the baby will be around 3.5kg. My girl friend heard liao dare not to eat so much cos worry the baby too big. Anyway, everyone so shocked when heard her baby only 2.2kg cos her tummy really big and everyone expected she will deliver a big baby.

Congrats to you!!!!! most of the time, sore and bleeding nipples mean that the baby is not latching on properly. You may want to check with the lactation consultant or call the Breastfeeding association, they can help.
Remember to put yr whole nipple AND Aerola(brown part,as much) into bb's mouth so he will not suck your nipple but the aerola part ok..... The nipple is for the milk to come out, not for bb to suck on....If you need, ask your hubby to get the creams to apply on your nipple, coz it is cracked, even pumping is painful. Get mustela, lanisoh or any other brand. Hope this helps!!!!!

10/7 Sat: Went to gynae checkup. Did CTG and realised tat Baby in distress as his heartbeat will drop whenever he moves. During scan, realised that the cord was near to baby's neck. But can't see if it's around his neck or just near. Whenever he moves, he will press on the cord, thus stop the supply of blood thru the cord causing his heartbeat to drop.
Gynae suggested to monitor baby's movement and come back for checkup on Tues.
Sun & Mon - tortured as always worried that baby either not moving or moving too much!
Tues - Gynae Checkup... Confirm Cord around neck - 1.5 rounds.
So decide to induce on WED nite. to delivery on Thus. Nearest date to Wk 37.
Wed 11pm - Admit to TMC. Insert in pill to soften Cervix.
Thurs 8am - Went down to labour ward. Did VE and realise only 1cm dilate. Gynae burst waterbag, set drip and wait for contractions.
Thurs 1pm - VE check - only 2 cm!!
Contractions already every 5 mins, hitting 70-80 everytime.
But baby still very high up, not engage yet. Gynae says maybe the cord is preventing him from engaging.
Thurs 3pm - VE check - still only 2cm!!!
Contractions already every 2 mins, hitting 100 everytime.
Gynae suggested Csec, as baby not coming down.
I wanted to give baby one more chance, so request to wait longer.
Thurs 4pm - VE check - still 2cm! *sian*
Decide to have spinal csec.
Thurs 430pm - push to OT and adminster Epidural.
Gynae came, hubby came in... and Baby Z is born!!!
So tat's my story... Noti baby Z refused to come out the natural way!
Was discharged on Sat - only stayed for 2 days as i was progressing well.
so now it's the start of my other war - BREASTFEEDING!!!!

I also did CTG scan at my gynae side to and everything seems to be okay, although before that i sometimes see 0 in the monitor, trying to scare myself only! Hahaaaaha
How come nipples will sore one? Not latching properly? Applying cream might help i heard...

misaryeo, CTG scan detects yr BB's heartbeat and contraction. They will attach two device on yr tummy and on the machine, u will start to hear yr womb and Bb's heart rate... and then the machine will generate 2 graphs, one measuring the heart rate and the other measure yr contraction.
If u are due for labour, your graph will show yr contraction very regular and the degree of yr contraction.

Wow..... thinking back on the days when we first were talking about first trimester, morning sickness, first felt baby's movement..... and now, some of the babies are already in the arms of their mummies. It's so so so heartwarming!

Actually, induce or not, labour is still painful. But it's a worthwhile pain when you see the baby first open his/her eyes to take a look at you..... "Hello stranger" first pops into your mind.... and wonder and amazement follows..... The baby..... made from 'this and this' and came out a mini human being!!! With a combi of you and hubby's look!!! So magical right?

It's true that not latching properly will cause nipple to be sore first, then crack, then bleed. Thus, it's best to get help while still in hospital. It's very hard to get it right, esp it's the first time!

Pureen is ok la. I prefer Mustela. Tell you one secret.... the Mustela that I bought last year to use on my boy, I'm still using now...... Never bought the second tube at all! Hmm.... Am I too stingy or what? But my boy's rashes normally clears very fast when I use that. When there's no rashes, I just wipe his buttock with wet cloth, then change to a new diaper without anything on. Cos I also heard it's not adviseable to keep putting on cream for babies right?

Haiz funny leh.. my gynea never do CTG or montior baby weight. He just scan to see if baby ok got heartbeat or not. I think he senior gynea so experience. See my weight gain can already.
But my mother and alot of aunties say my tummy very liao will give birth earlier than EDD.
