Dsiitan, mai worry lah. My aunt also got GD, end up her BB also healthy healthy one. Just after pregnancy have to control again coz I heard the GD might stay on if not controlled...

Ask for inducement loh if really that bad, but gyane didnt say anything??

ive been on this controlled diet since wk9 or 10. im coming to wk 28. so ive been eating this way for almost 20 wks! i must say it's not easy. sometimes i do eat like nobody's business but it's only once in a blue moon since i need to monitor once every wk so i do try to be as disciplined as possible.

after my gynae told me i need to inject insulin, i suddenly like waken up. i want to prove it again by being disciplined (controlled diet, more water + moving ard after meal), i can still keep my reading within range, no nd to take insulin.

im afraid once i take insulin, my body will become even lazier to produce insulin on its own. then i die la... forever hv to depend on insulin injection.

although i know now pregnant, hormones change, tts why sometimes body cannot produce insulin on its own, hv to get help from injection. but i really dun wish to do tt. meanwhile i oso hope tt my decision wont affect my bb

ya loh..after birth must ctrl diet loh..if not will become diabetics...then cham liao

hi fen fen, my edd is 28 sept. still long way to go.

i do hv the intention to stay on w my controlled diet even after delivery. i feel tt it's healthy. but i know sure not as disciplined as during pregnancy.
 
but one thing i still dun understand is why must my gynae prescribe insulin for me? only failed a few after dinner reading....

i can oso see a gradual increase in my reading from wk 9 till now wk 27, but they're still in the passable range leh...

appt w gynae is next wk... will ask her...

yup, hb in SG but he works from home thru phone calls & emails; somedays he drops by the SG office to do some work. He has some customers in SG, so he also arranges some meetings with them to catch up.

Btw, how to wash the steriliser huh? Use normal liquid detergent will do? Wash when discharge from hospital?

you order so many ah? when are you collecting them? your PIL and SIL will help to finish them.... maybe got not enough to eat ar... hahaha...
 
edksd, dun b too worried.. if u can control n the results is within the range then shld b ok.. so hows ur weight gain .. n bb is how heavy now?

the nurse in KKH told me if diet control ok, then no need insulin..

so u must jia you!
 
edksd, yup we know its not easy to be disciplined. I was at risk of GD too.. then i stopped all my junks like ice cream, durians and chocolate.. Thank god, everything is within control... but even I have sweet tooth I still will eat them every now and then.. Right now I am still taking soft/frizzy drinks after each meal to quech thirst... Sometimes I feel damn damn guilty for eating like this. Haiz.

Think u better check w doc if not injecting insulin will affect BB or not... then make yr decisions.

aiya, he is also getting a bit impatient liao, that's y called to check. He cannot stay in SG too long, have to go back KL very soon. He told me if i pop on the 10th, he needs to go back on the 12th/13th liao. Cos lots of work piling up at the plant, he needs to be there to settle. Sianz...

i'm also taking cold drinks leh... duno why recently i'm always so thirsty loh. wanna take cold cold drinks... sometimes will get scoldings from hubby ar... me guilty for drinking coffee, am still takin 1 cup a day...

just realised my bb didnt hiccup today... normally will have 3-4 times a day...
 
I think i will descale mine this coming weekend. abit early but i wan to prepare everything swee swee just in case i pop early, coz hb i know his pattern, everything dont know.. cannot depend on him one.

hello all, i'm still around!!!! Gynae told me not to eat too much sugary food (so no swiss roll or eclairs), not becos of GD but scared bb gets too big.

dsii, did u update the table for kin as natural (1 push)??? So good huh? How many hours of labour?

Btw, anybody tried Kyo Cake House b4? Nice or not?

ive lost 3kg during my 1st trimester ever since i started this controlled diet in wk9. till today (wk27+) ive only gained 2kg+. so my weight now is almost the same as pre-pregnancy, not much diff, tts why im still wearing most of my usual clothes.

im overweight to begin w. fyi. tts why im oso not expecting myself to put on a lot of weight. the most just 6-8kg like what the chart shows during the antenatal class.

my bb was 0.75kg during the last appt at wk24+. gynae says bb is big. she's only expecting 0.6kg.

but it seems like 0.75kg at wk24+ is quite normal leh. her chart seems to be v strict leh. furthermore this type of measurement is not 100% accurate right?
 
lollypop, I think avent comes with citric acid in the box. Use the citric acid to descale. THink they got instructions on the packet....

I am using a hand me down, so i will be using lemon (as a form of citric acid) to descale it.
 
edksd, if u can still continue with the diet like now, then its the best.. but i understand that its not easy lor..as ppl do hv cravings..
so just try ur best.. n also for weight gain, avoid fried and oily food.. cos after i start controlling my diet, i lost weight..

since yours is new one, they shold have the instruction booklet in the box... did you check is it there?

hmmm... wat is de-scale? heard some mummies using citrus acid to clean the sterilizer.... but not sure how to do it...

hmm.. maybe i shld descale my steriliser then.. my hubby like PM's hubby.. dunno anything one.. see him do things i'll vomit blood...:p

Gebbera, think 1 cup per day is still ok lah..... Yah I also feel especially thirsty and have cravings for milo dinosaur. Hahaha Maybe it is due to the weather? Lets hope Aug is a rainy mth, so that we wont feel sweaty thru out our confinement..

really miss them. but 99.99% of the time i find it easy to control - for the sake of bb.
 
for all ur info.. i drink cold water everyday one leh, cos i dun like lukewarm water since young... especially recently when weather is super hot, i'll drink soft drinks, cold green tea sometimes wif ice somemore.. then i also drink coffee, milo, herbal tea.. etc.. i like very unhealthy hor.. dunno bb will suffer or not after comeout
 
edksd, i wont say the weight measurement 100% accurate cos i heard from other ppl its just an estimation..

mayb ur gynae is just very strict.. cos she wants the best for u n bb mah..

if she find it ok that u dun inject insulin, then no problem lah..but if she insist, i tink u just hv to follow what she says as we want bb to b healthy ...
 
Geberra, de-scaling is like removing the white white substances sticky onto the heating element.. if u use a electric kettle will also need to descale once a while. Coz i m using hand me down so sure will have it. Not sure how to use cirtic acid, but if use lemon, I just squeeze the lemon juice and mixed with water and let the sterlizer run like normal, ie On it with diluted lemon juice in it, afetr a cycle u will see the white substance coming out then just rinse away.

Maybe citric acid also work the same way, as in dilute it? Wait for lollypop to tell us... hehe

Try not to take too much cold drinks. No good for bb. Chinese doc told me wait bb come out may get cough or asthma easily. Take it easy with the cold stuffs.
 
Mu aunties kept warning me that drinking cold drinks will cause BB to have phelgm... but i still dirnk.. cannot control!

Dsiitan, think 37 weeks onwards consider ok laio..
