okasan,

sugarbun,
the beansprout pillows are really nice but very expensive lor. u can find the pic of the one which we order in marketplace posted by hidora.

celesteblur,
i know especially chatuchak ... was hesitating leh !! haiz !! Haha, last year my V-day went to eat black pepper crab @ still rd.. aso coffeeshop lah. yeah flower is very expensive during this season so dont waste money on that.

starfish,
if u got monitor the mucous, think quite accurate...I thought if u just assume 14 days, then it's not accurate
happy.gif

okipoki,
not all cough sweets cannot eat...only some....just need to check out the ingredients...

re: v. day
I also dun wanna hubby buy flowers on that day...so stupid waste money..rather he buy me flowers any other day
happy.gif

as for celebration....maybe this year will stay at home...prefer quiet moments....outside so crowded with younsters....

think v. day is too commerical liao...just a good opportunity for business people to earn our money...haha....

okasan/ starfish, the mucous testing is quite accurate.few days before Ov, the muscous will be egg white like.

starfish/ celeste, aiya, at least your hubbies still celebrate on vday with u... last yr my hubby was working so i celebrated vday with another guy, my son. we went to eat ice cream
happy.gif
happy.gif

okipoki, BKK is nice if u love shopping. things are v cheap. just go to MBK Centre already u can buy one whole luggage of things liao. The bags there cost only 199Baht which is like S$8 plus. I bought 8 bags last time i went there and til now, still havent used some of them. Try the Dinner on Cruise along the Chao Praya River. I enjoyed that. Other than shopping, the weather there is super hot! i didnt quite enjoy the other day time outdoors activities. u went Korea 6 yrs ago...hee hee that was when the korea craze started.... lucky u ...the tours were much cheaper then... i just called the agent..the airport tax is $209!!!!! wah piang!!! but no choice if die die also want to go holiday lor
sad.gif

tinklebell,
if u go korea now, then how u settle the winter clothing huh? now preggy, sure cannot wear those winter clothings bought before preggy...

Good afternoon mummies, wow... thread moving fast, from holiday destinations to valentines day.

tinklebell, peng - how many days is the Korea $499 package? airfares and accommodation included? still thinking of a resort getaway, but hubby not interested in Malaysia.
sad.gif
considering bintan, but bit boring, no shopping...

Tinklebell.. airport tax so ex? My budget is $1K for hubby and me. we will be celebrating our 2nd yr in end March, and it's on me.
happy.gif

okasan, winter clothings no prob bec my sil used to stay in Europe for many years and she was prg 2x there. they came back 2 yrs ago... i can borrow hers. or can borrow my fat mother's. my only concern is that the temp is ard 6 to 10 deg in march. my husband says it may be too cold for my son
sad.gif
maybe apr will be nicer but we will be in our 7th mth already right? i dont think i want to travel with the super big tummy.

amy, hee hee ... we lucky we managed to make a bit fr our shares these few days so we decided we can increase our budget. For $1k u can try thailand. BKK or Chiangmai should fit. actually Phuket and Bali also v nice but i dont dare to go there after the tragic incidents. **scared**
Since u like shopping, go to BKK lah. can buy til u drop but go during weekend bec Chatuchap mkt only opened fr Fri nite thru the weekends.

Amy,
$499 package is for 5 days 6th March (11pm flight) til 10th March.
$549 if going on 13th March til 17th March.
Have to take 4 days leave lor. Guided tour. at least 2 meals a day provided.
This year if u give birth, should have extra days of leave for childcare right? our company gives us 2 days - 1 day per half year.
U must be careful of mosquitos in Bintan. Put on mosquito repellent. Last time my uncle went there and kenna malaria.

starfish,
my hb might even work late on VDay this yr...and dont think he got apply for leave, so i might end up having VDay dinner alone at home...haha

okipoki,
but things at chatuchak is cheap :p hehe, i went BKK last yr Jan...so its like considered still quite recent...so dont think will go BKK again
happy.gif

tinklebell,
the airport tax to korea so exp?!?!? $209 is for one pax ah? I still tot the airport tax to Australia is bad enuff, i tink its bout $200+ also...*faint*

Amy,
airport tax is getting exp these days becos of all those surcharges thingy....i noe BKK alone is bout $90+ to $100 liowz....*sigh*
I tink sometimes airport tax can even be more exp than the air ticket itself (if u compare with budget airline air ticket price)...haha
For 1k budget, u can try Chiangmai or Langkawi bah
happy.gif
shld be quite nice places ;)

Hello mummies!

Wow, the thread is moving so fast!

Are we on travelling now? I wanted to go BKK, but hb said the food there not clean, in case anything happen, better dun go.. So I think the next time I go holidays dunno will be how many donkey years away already. >_<

tinklebell,
u lucky...at least got clothings to borrow from, can save money...mar still ok, if go in jan, very cold...I went in jan, coldest month, that's not suitable for kids...but mar, think your boy still can go lah, just need to prepare his winter clothings loh.....

I also wanna go bkk...was thinking can do some shopping for baby's stuff there...but am worry abt food hygenie too...

bintan is really quite bored..been there before, just sleep, sunbath, eat loh....no shopping...

celeste, yes $209 is for only 1 person
sad.gif
sad.gif
so expensive hor? HK and BKK only $80 plus and i thought quite ex already.

okasan, i also agree that buying flowers quite waste of money esp on vday. they charge super sky high prices. but then since i told my hubby that...seems like i never receive any more flowers fr then on leh
sad.gif
sad.gif
sad.gif
aiya... we married for more than 5 years already.... all the romance like gone liao leh.
sad.gif

seems like a lot of u gals just got married not long ago hor? enjoy your first few years of "honeymoon".
happy.gif

Hi pebbles,

I understand from wherehealthbegin website that I just found out from the wherebeginhealth website that Neurogain PB plus has been stopped selling in Singapore leh.. then I call them and ask and was told that the supplier actually is malaysian company but supply to singapore market has been stopped dunno due to what reason.. may I know where you get your supplies?

I tot BKK will be fun, but hubby said too crowded and bad traffic, congestion. Was there last yr, did so much walking... good workout.

Hmm... since like I am down with Bintan. Maybe Bali will be more fun? Stayed at HRC the last trip, at least there is some shopping.

Must really make up my mind soon... determined to go for a short trip in March. If hubby cannot take leave, will still go. Must enjoy myself before baby pop out.

Hee hee... just washed baby's hand me downs. Next wash will be mittens and booties, then his new clothes, then towels and wash clothes... wah... like so many things to wash in different batches...

Wow.. just back from lunch so many postings liao.

Hv u gers thought of going Koh Samui ? I was there a couple of years ago.. beautiful island.

celesteblur,
I go BKK once every year.. last went in Aug. Yah was thinking of getting BB clothings cos more cheaper mah. Dont know lah, see hubby wants to go or not lor else might be going during maternity leave.

tinklebell,
6 years ago the korea craze havent started. Think I paid ard $900 for a 8 days trip which include skiing as well. I went there during winter season... somewhere in Jan.

tinklebell,
then u muz hint to your hubby that u still love flowers...I stop my hubby from buying flowers on v. day..but he still buy me flowers for our anniversary
happy.gif

amy,
wow, u so on, so fast wash the hand-me-down clothes....me just got the hand-me-down clothes from a relative, haven't even look what's instde..hehe...one question, if u wash now, will u still wash again when near due date? I was told by a friend that I wash the clothes when nearer to due date, so dun need to wash again....

Amy,
So early start to wash those hands down clothings ar.. So far, my mum managed to wash 1 bag for me. I was thinking to start washing at a later stage. Hehe..

Tinklebell,
I got married in late 2004 so dont have much "honeymoon" period...

okipoki,
koh samui is always in my list..but I wanna go there to dive...so now not a good time to go there...dun know after giving birth, still can find time for diving or not...haiz~!

$900 for 8 day korea quite cheap...mine was 1100+ for 8 days korea....went last year...

okasan, okipoki, hee hee.. the hand me downs have some milk smell, hence i am washing first round with dynamo, then nearer to EDD, wash with pigeon detergent. if cannot remove the milk smell, then will buy napisan, as i read in another thread that napisan can remove milk stains.
happy.gif

okipoki, wah... so nice, your mum washed for you.
happy.gif
i have to DIY everything...
sad.gif

okipoki:
me dun intend to put surname on the pillow. maybe the name only wil do but i stil prefer cartoons rather than name cos maybe next time can reused for 2nd bb.
happy.gif
i intend to order 2 pillows, 1 for chest, 1 for head support. u?

starfish:
wow u jackpot on Day 15, really heng leh. cos ovulation date if not wrong, really hv to monitor for mths one. actually do u feel ur body temp increases during ovulation day? sometimes i can feel n discharge is more. btw mine seems to be 31 days cycle. how u really count ur cycle days? typical is 28 days hor.

mummies:
Hubby got asked me how i want to celebrate V-day. U know wat. i told him "everyday is a v-day to me". hehe last yr, we went to Hotel intercontinental for sunday brunch (FOC) cos we just got married n then the hotel give us free buffets. during courtship, he wil give me flowers n i always hide his flowers inside a carrier cos i paiseh to carry in public. lol. so i guess tis yr, we wil just eat out.
happy.gif

hihi joline

My friend is working in a pharmanautical line so can get discounts sometime. Anyway, quite a few gynaes also recommend us to take Neurogain PB plus. You can go NTUC pharmacy and they are still selling too.
happy.gif

one of my colleagues passing me some hand downs clothings for my bb girl.
happy.gif
at least got ppl pass down to me liao cos initially i thought i hv to buy new ones.
happy.gif

okasan,
tat time i was thinking of going BKK to get maternity clothes and bb stuffs but now maternity clothes no need to buy anymore...and most imptly worry bout the food there at BKK...tats y been delaying going on a trip..cos still donno where to go....actually planned to go in late Jan or Feb...but till now also havent decided where...haha
i also washed some of the hand-me-down clothes liowz...but will wash once more when nearer to due date
happy.gif
cos like wat Any mentioned...got some milk smell...hehe

tinklebell,
$209 for 1 person is really exp! But BKK now already $90+ if u travel by SQ. HKG i not sure so....haizz...all these increases due to those wat war risk insurance lah...fuel surcharge blah blah
sad.gif

okipoki,
wow...u go BKK once a yr ah...hehe...me only been to BKK once...haha
and ur korea trip is cheap wor...that time i went in dec 2002....i paid bout $1.2k for 7 days skiing trip...exp hor? And its via Korean Air...not even SQ...haha

kite,
the bean sprout pillow not comfortable as head support...normally such pillow is use to place on baby's body to make him feel secure....for newborn, u dun need pillow, just cotton cloth folded up a few times will do....

Amy,
I see...so u will wash when near to due date...coz like that better...else from now till due date, sure got dust...hehe...I also have to wash it myself coz no one at home to help me...
happy.gif

Hi kite,

You dun have to put names if you dun want. I have mummies putting "Our Precious One".. Hmm, maybe I will also think of something along that line.

Hb also ask me how I want to celebrate V-day. I was thinking of eatting buffet!! Hahaha... I'm usually a small eater, finally got chance to gobble, must go eat buffet.

celeste,
think the most worrying part for preggy mums at bkk is always the food..hehe...my friend went there, had a serious diarrhea after eating food from hotel restaurant leh...not street stall....

kite,
at least u have some hand-me-down clothes liao...happy for you....cost can be quite a lot of money if need to get everything brand new
happy.gif

hidora
ya, eating buffet when u have bigger appetite, more worth it...haha...maybe I should consider buffet too...hehe....

kite, good to know you got some hand me downs. my hand me downs are only good for baby 1-2 months, hence i also bought some 3-6 mths roompers/pants/tees for baby. will be sending him to infant care, so must dress up nice nice everyday.
happy.gif

Last year, we celebrated valentine at Conrad, stayed at Conrad, had breakfast and buffet dinner there. We got married at Conrad, and we simply love the atmosphere there. We check ourselves in once every three months.
happy.gif

This year valentine, maybe eat buffet at home. have yet to discuss with hubby. valentine day like any other day...

Okipoki, $900 for a 8 day winter trip was really cheap. good thing u went then. now a winter package like that prob cost >$1k.

seems like a lot of u have gone to korea hor. donno why everytime i want to go, in the end will end up going somewhere else or nowhere
sad.gif
last time in 2001, i quit my job for a while and while looking for a new job, i wanted to korea but drag and drag in the end my hubby couldnt make it and i also couldnt get companions to the places i wish to go.

Amy, envy envy...conrad is nice hotel. my girl fren will be getting married there in Apr. wow, u stay there once every 3 mths? so romantic. btw, how much is the room rate?

tinklebell, the weekend room rate is $200 +++ inclusive of breakfast by the pool.
happy.gif
highly recommended!

okasan,
wow....even hotel food also kenna diarrhea ah *faint*

Amy,
u very enjoy life wor....check into hotel once every 3mths
happy.gif
Me wanna check into hotel once a yr for anniversary hb also say waste $....he say might as well save the $ up and go on longer trips *sigh*....he is not romantic one
sad.gif

Celeste, okasan, actually, it's my hubby who enjoys these getaways.
happy.gif
Of cos, me too... but with baby out, i think we will need to cut down on these activities, cos weekends will be spent bringing baby out.

celeste,
ya, if u think hotel food is clean, not neccessary loh...depend on how the staffs there handle the food...sometimes, those stall hawkers handle food cleaner....

ask u all mummies.
Sometimes do u feel irritated when someone keep talking non-stop? Though the person is really good n kind to give alot of good bb advise but dunno y feel abit irriated loh but paiseh ask that person to stop. dunno leh. maybe during pregnancy, dun feel like listening someone sounds naggy? me very funny hor. actually its one of my colleagues.

amy,
ya, after baby born, got more things in priority....me and hubby also like to stay at hotels once in a while, usually 1-2 times a year...your hubby really know how to enjoy life...
happy.gif

kite,
I dun have such feeling...but maybe u can excuse yourself if you find it irritating to listen? like tell the person u wanna go washroom, etc...

some preggy women tends to have emotional swings
happy.gif

okasan,
ya maybe i m too sensitive liao. cos i like to do my work n surf net quietly. then my colleague came n look for me n keep talking non stop for at least more than 1/2 an hour. to me like nagging loh, keep telling me better dun tis n that. i feel abit like pek Chey..

yawn ..i'm v tired now...slept ard 12 last nite cos helping my aunt settle her accounts stuff...and also did some laundry. now my eyes can hardly open.

kite,
ya, sometimes we wanna have a quiet moments..it's normal to feel irritated...oncewhen I want to do some net surfing, then this colleague of mine just come over and seat beside me to talk to another colleague....so irritated coz I can't surf net with him beside me.....

for me, it's the opposite. colleagues do not talk to me much, i have lots of time to do my work and surf net...
happy.gif

okasan:
yaloh. i feel my head like gg to burst w the voice....just want to hv some peace. think mood swing. got once i felt very nauseous during 1st tri, then my colleague kept chatting non stop w me n didnt notice i m not feeling well, until i ask him to stop talking.

kite, poor you. maybe you put in ear phones, pretend to be busy, listen to music. then colleagues will not talk to you unless urgent.
