I'm thinking of giving it a miss even though my gynae asked me to do but i think he's just being cautious since i have no diabetes.

Joy, in my view, the gestational diabetes test is quite important. It is not related to the normal diabetes. Gestational diabetes is developed in pregnancy only. Did you ask your gynae why he/she recommended you the test?
Even though I do not have diabetes, I will be doing the test on my next gynae visit, as my baby is bigger than average.

Kite : haahaa, she was sleeping facing down sommore ... so difficult to see ! And one hand was like covering her ear. not guai at all ! kicks only at 5pm and 11pm at night ... In fact Gynae said i sld feel the kicks stronger when bb grows bigger, cuz apparently now my placenta is just under my tummy/skin, so there's a 5cm between baby and me ...
My next appoint is on 10th March, will be 25 weeks by then !

K Ong: i felt baby kicking for the first time in week 16. butterfly kicks. in week 20, quite regular, but now in week 23, his kicks are getting stronger... my hubby can hear his movements and kicks...
how amazing!

Have not been login in for quite a while.. hope everyone is doing fine here..
For me my MS came back.. am 21 weeks plus now.. but still vomit every evening... its real disaster... have gained only 3.5kg.. but bb is quite active though..
Went for detailed scan last week and doctor asked me to monitor the number of kicks .. must at least have 10kicks within 12hrs..
Did all your gynae asked you all to monitor that too?

from the normal scan, i cant see look like my hubby or me. gynac only comment my bb's nose look like mine high high one but i dun find my nose that high. lol. hmm i dun think my gynac got 3D scan but i didnt ask her too. maybe next appt shall ask her.

if u want to apply for FBI and pay for antenatal class on the same day u wont be eligible for the discount. Thats what i wanna do when i went for my detailed scan. I went to apply for my FBI and although my detailed scan is eligible for the discount....but when i went to pay for antenatal class....the system did not reflect any discount...so the lady i tink she was Mrs Wong...told me to send in a cheque 2 weeks later cos actual membership will only take place like 2 weeks later

this thur, before ur detailed scan, u can go n apply the FBI card. After that, they will give u a temp letter n the receipt as a proof. Then u can double confirm whether can the letter/receipt be used to deduct for ur detailed scan.
since i got the FBI card now, i think i wil put my bb's cordblood w Cordlife cos can enjoy benefits. As for whichever bed u want stay in, can further enjoy discount too.

Josephine, for me, i opt for the cord blood thing just to be on the safe side bec our families have history of cancer. stem cell transplant can be used for some forms of cancers.... it's like insurance.

i applied the FBI card & pay for my antenatal class on the same day leh. Firstly, i went to apply for FBI then they give me a letter or receipt (i can't remember) & said tt i can show this letter for disc. My detail scan is not eligible for disc as my gynae not in the list. When i went to pay for antenatal class, i didn't even show the lady the letter. she just asked me whether i got join FBI or not, then i said yes. She straight away give me disc (or maybe she saw me carrying the FBI goodie bag)...

Celeste: ya.. me too, worried about excessive walking, and lack of water and toilet facilities. I was in Taiwan 2 years ago, lots of walking, and the night market is really packed. Same with Bangkok, might not be suitable for us preggy mummies. Phuket or a similar type of getaway might be a better option hor?

Celeste, now is a nice time to go to taiwan. i went there in may last year- was v hot. A lot of walking to do bec if u are just going to Taipei, it's basically shopping shopping and more shopping.
