Agree with you many times, I felt that we are living in a menacing world whereby children are rushed to this and that because parents wanted them to grow up to be a intelligent and smart child. But what about their childhood? I read an article about a 9 year old boy taking O levels (dunno when) its scary.

Joy: Ya, saw many banners showing Appletree playgroup. But like you mention, they only accept from 3yo onwards, so our kiddos will only qualify in yr2009 :p I am sending ER to Moring Glory Education Centre (void deck kind) at Tampines St34 next Jan (3x a week). They have daily cirriculum, eg Mon - Language, Tue - Maths, Wed - art, etc, then every month for some theme. This year, they only have 6 kids in the playgroup, so it's combined with the pre-nursery class. Of course, can't compare it to the branded playhouse but if we just want to expose our kiddos to other kids, learn some discipline and learn some stuff, think it's OK. For daily 9-12pm, school fees is $150pm + $60 materials per term; 3x a week is $100pm + $45 materials per term. I sup your montessari friend is correct in saying no need to spend so much $ for the current stage.

Hopefully the ferry ride will be ok. After a bad experience last time, now I always get the last seat at the back. It will be better at the back. This is A's 3rd time to Bintan already

I gave the nurses black black face and hurry them for my blood test and payment, else sure maybe 3 hours. I was late for biz appointment for an hour cos of the wait.

Hi, I ever bring my gal for Gymboree trial when she was 18th mths. Not too bad, more on baby gym & singing. My gal like it I think because a lot of movement. If anyone going for trial let me know, might want to bring Zach for trial this round.

Joy, for Bangkok, ask me..keke...you can get many nice and reasonably priced toddlers/children's clothing from 1)indra square, 2)platinum fashion mall and 3)pratunam wholesale market...all is in the pratunam area, at 1& 2, you will chance upon a few shops selling Gap, carters, old navy and gymboree cut labels...as for 3)pratunam wholesale market, you can get cheap and 'not so bad' quality home clothes for toddlers, there is even a stall selling carters/child of mine rompers/sleepsuits (mostly infant size, can find some up to 24 mths), this stall is located at the street market directly opposite Baiyoke Sky hotel on Sunday day time and weekday night time. You can also go MBK for imitation lesportsac bags (cost around S$10). Try not to buy any clothing from MBK, the price is almost double of those places I recommend.

For houseware stuff, go to chatuchak on weekends or Suan Lom Night Bazaar. Enjoy your shopping.

Yeah, looking actively...thinking about gym cum a bit of learning too. Missed the trial to Busybuddies so will try to fix again during one weekend. JWT, Gymboree - also maybe will go trial, especially JWT since at MP, nearer to Tamp. Looking to sign up hol programme by kidsloft too. Maybe hubby take one week, I take one week...keke. Than have to fill up the rest of Nov and Dec.

Heard from my friend in Shanghai that Gymboree is good and her son is having good fun while learn to play well with others. Wonder if Gymboree here is the same.

I talked to Ros and she sounds quite good. I will go trial and see if their toddler class is suitable for G. Coz they have class at 2 times a week, just nice for my parents to bring her. Think Morning Glory etc, need to attend full week....Btw, the MG nearest to my place, G didn't like. She cried and asked me to "Go"...sigh. Then my neighbour said Salvation Army centre near to my place also take in 18mos old, I may take a look. The last time I peep through the window, the teacher to student ratio seems high for the nursery group. Hm...never thought I have to think so much to find a playgroup for G. Feel so kiasu/kiasi.

Btw, with toddlers turning 18mos soon, anyone arranging for group trials? See arrow -MTDT? *wink*.

Good to hear that all is well. 2 hours wait is very long. Think after the trip to Shanghai, G's activeness up one notch. Can feel like she is shouting "I am bored!". Just now stopped by neighbour place for 15 min, she was so happy to interact with their 2.5 yo girl.
 
Lyn, glad to know that your babies are fine. Do share with us the ferry ride when you are back, I am also thinking of a short getaway in Bintan but I have the same concern as mspiggy, scared Jerica cannot take the ferry ride. Enjoy your holidays!

Gymboree trial level 3 @ Harbourfront - I just went before my USA trip (organise by jul). Hmmm... we had a gp of 20kids so SUPER MESSY! but overall it's the same same, circle time, stations of activities, bubbles time, parachute time. I think normal class with lesser kids wld be better. Our trial was simply a MESS! hahaa

Am planning to go JWT global playroom 2 trial(for 18mths n above) next week.

Joy: Oh, G din like the MG at your place ah. Actually, I din even bring ER to the MG at my place to seek his opinion...hehe. MG is full week but the teacher says can go 3x a week 1st. Once they adapt, then decide if to switch to daily. For me, distance is impt loh, cos can't expect my mil/maid to take bus & ferry ER to/fro school. When I told mil I enrolled ER for school next yr, she said "why go so much school, wait he hates going to shool next time"....sigh... really duno what to say, totally diff frequency! and ER only going for SM currently.

As for being ks, totally understand how u feel. When I 1st saw MG premise, it's really not sth I expected. In the end, decided to be bochap for the time being. Afterall, attending something is definitely better than staying at home.
