(2006/01) Jan 2006 MTBs

hearing u all talk about relationship with husband makes me wonder if i am the odd one out. i don't really mind if i don't spend time with my hb or not. i don't think about watchin movies with him or doing things we used to do before we had edgar. maybe becoz we don't do much together in the first place. just eat and sleep loh!
haha sounds like pig ya! :p

Ladies
anyone know where to buy kids furniture other than ikea? my colleague is trying to look around but couldn't find any....

aileen,

me also feel the same as you..the only thing i want is sleep..and abit of my own time to do my stuff..i think my hb also feel the same..

re: MMR
in the health booklet it's stated to be taken between 1-2 yo. but the PD asked us to go at 15 mths. is it compulsory? or can do it later, as long as it's before 2 yo?

re : MMR

Can do it later, as long as before 2 yo. btw, once the list of the compulsory vaccination has been done, you should get a certificate of vaccination. For my #1, I did everything in poly and the poly gave me one. For my #2, I did it in a couple of places, including the PD, so perhaps I'll go to the poly to do the MMR so that they can give me one. Anyone knows if that's possible?

.ky.

cindy - thks for extending the J&J sales to me. I have sent you my list. thanks!
happy.gif
let me know when its here and how to transfer to you.

CL
thanks for the encouragement too!

re MMR jab
hmm, i din even think abt when to do it. do they need a cert for vaccination? din know that...

aileen
the problem is my hb thinks i dun spend enough time with him. so if your hb has no expectations then that's good.

cindy
is it too late for me to join in the J&J sales? can send me the list? if its close then its ok, no worries. thanks.

babylon,
that's good. at least i know i'm not the odd one out! keke...

sy,
ic... my hb didn't complain or anything. think we both prefer to do our own things. well not like we have lotsa time for that with edgar around. so any little time left, if any, is very precious.

Aileen
congrats!!!!

SY
its good that both you and hb make the effort to go for counselling. things will work out well. communication is a very important key in a r/s.

Hi Mama Chan,

Sorry i didn;t get you invite to MSN.

Hi Sysac,

Purvis Street - there is a Vietnamese rest there - food is ok but the ambience is quite relaxing. The boss is also quite a hunk! Ha Ha.

Went to Jerry BBQ and grill at Jalan Kayu last night. the food is good! Their steak and ribs is nice. Before all of you all go, i must say it is not a fine dining rest, Infact, more of outdoor back alley kind. Ashley was harping on the lizards on the wall as she eats. Haha.

Hi Aileen,

Congrats. Caught the video of Edgar passing you the card. So cute and mischievious.

Yuki,

I went to Jerry BBQ quite often in the past. Now with Charmaine, we didn't really dare to go there. : )

Actually I thought that the standard has somehow dropped quite a bit.

Aileen,
Actually I want time to do my own things too. I used to go for facial once a month and then massage or body scrub but now I don't even have the time to go facial once a month. : P

re: keeping toy
my hb did a good job in getting dylan to keep his toys after play and before going to bed. he listens more to my hb than to me on this =p

and yes, we have to set an example to him in how to keep them back in place and he started to do it himself. of coz, a little clap and cheer after his hard work really made him proud and happy =)

mummies
like to share a small happy news on dylan. since yesterday afternoon, he rejected to nap in his sarong. now he prefer to nap on bed! no more a daytime sarong boy =p very happy that he self wean.

Yuki
You know the hunk. Hee hee me working so near Purvis street. Can eat at liang seah street , seah street got so many food to choose from. Shanghaiese, Thai, Korean, yummy

Rachel
Somehow I met Dylan that day, I feel he is a grown up boy already. Hee Hee 3 cheers for him

Re: J&J Sale

SY, Esh_Mummy, MamaChan, Rena, Aileen, SSF - have emailed you on your final qty and allocation. Kindly check your emails and confirm all is OK by noon tomorrow.

sleepingdeer/rachel,
Sorry but the timing doesn't allow me to slot your orders in for this round. Most of the hot items have reached quota too. Next round?

MMR jab
I think if u've been feeding your darlings eggs, there's nothing to worry about. Ariene took the jab last Tuesday and had no problems at all. This time, she didn't even cry when taking the jab. Just looked at Dr Ng with a look of irritance.

Aileen
Can I ask u how many days after u missed ur period did u take the first negative test and how many days later did u retake the test and got the positive result? After reading ur post, I thought I'd better retest again next week just to double confirm.. I've been feeling so super tired and my legs have been retaining water like crazy, feeling super hot nowadays. Sianz... So hard to tell when is the correct time to take the test accurately cuz I've not had any periods at all! If I really got preg, I'll be joining the league of few women who can get preggy while still breastfeeding and not have periods. Till I confirmed.. *sigh*

Cindy
I"ll be emailing u my list too soon... gimme 5 min..

re: MMR
When is the next MMR due for our babies? 15/ 16 mths? How come Cephas and Tabby are due for their jabs liao?

Wenny,
Just PMed you on the play session.

cindy
no problem =) will wait for next round! am late in joining in this round of sale too. keep me in the loop ya. thanks!

chickenlittle
heehee i felt the same way too, was looking at his back view just now. told myself he is no longer is baby but a little boy...

re: MMR
this is due for children from 1 - 2YOs. recommended for our kid to take at 15 months. im abit confuse here, did i remember some mummies mentioned that MMR could actually delay one's speech or something like that??

CONGRATS Aileen!!

Rachel,
Nice Joke to relief my tiredness today.

MMR jab
Checked with PD the last time.. it will be at 15mths. You can take Chicken Pox jab together with this jab as well.

5-in-1 Booster Jab
This is the last jab taken in 18mths

RE: MIL
Sigh.. every monday I will have tales to tell abt my MIL. Dunno when this will stop. But this seems a good news to me as hubby is sort of being very firm finally. I wonder when my "volcano" will erupt at MIL if these were to go on.

Last Sun was QING MING festival for my in-laws. So we reached there early at 9plus and hubby fetch them to the cementary to pray. So surprised that one of his cousin, shall name him "H" told everyone that his wife is 3mths pregnant again. His son is only born Oct 2006, abt 6mths old nw. Now his wife cannot work after #2 is out as there is no one to look after their kids.

MIL is so happy for them and nagged at hubby on the journey back.
MIL: "When are u going to give me a grandson?"
Hb: "We dun intend to have another one.. just Jamie will do." (Hb purposely spite MIL)
MIL: "I dun want to hear all these. Your wife's parents are still young. You better try fast else no one look after your kids for u."
Hubby ignore her. (Hubby told these to me when we reach home at night)

When she is back, she tried to sound me out. Saying the same story to me and ended with "Wa..they very productive hor?" I am so pissed and said "Oh no, Poor H, now he is the only sole bread-winner. Why never plan properly?"

MIL's mouth shut up immediately. And she mentioned again on the Dining Table while hubby is having dinner. Think my hubby cannot endure any longer and sort of raised his voice at her "Can u stop nagging!! I only come back once a week and u keep nagging even when I am having my meals. If u going to do that again, we will not come back every week! "

Then MIL really stopped her nagging. Wow.. I am really very impressed with my hubby.

Hubby and me had come to a conclusion that night, the more she wants a #2, the more we decided not to have. We might postpone our plans till Jamie is 3yrs old. We shall see how is it first.
But seeing more and more mummies have #2, makes me want to get a sibling for Jamie as well. Told my mum, I would rather #2 to be a girl also so that MIL will not create more problems. And having another girl means Jamie can share clothings, shoes and little secrets with her in future.

Hi Mummies;

We're back in London. Past 5 days were terrible, Rory and I are nursing a cold, trying to get used to the chilly weather and getting over the jet lag. I was so weepy the first 3 days cos I felt so homesick.

Hubby is in Germany this week, which means i'm totally on my own
sad.gif
Rory has also been super clingy because it's just him and me at home. he wants to be carried half the time! trying my hardest to stay positive but sometimes it takes all my willpower not to burst into tears.

Re: Yahoo Group

May;
dunno why I do not seem to have received the yahoo group invite, maybe give me the exact name of the group and I'll do a search for the group on yahoo and invite myself? Will that work?

slinky,

why not just go to the gynea to check if you are pregnant or not..

I remember when i preggie when damien, went to GP to check..the pregency kit cannot detect...showing negative.tot that something wrong due to my last miscarriage..so decideded to go straight to gynea...the moment she did the v scan for me..."Hey dear...you are 5 weeks pregnant...OMG..really unexpected coz i miss my menses for 4 months..meaning that i ovulated without having menses....

Test kit might not able to detect in the early stage.

Rachel,
hehe...love the jokes. oh ya, wanna update you that Meg is now 78cm! But still shorter than Dylan so ok.
happy.gif
oh yes, congrats on him weaning himself off the sarong! Can keep the thing liao.

Mamapanda,
yes, why not have a check at gynae's? They can check your hormone level if pregnancy kit can't detect. Otherwise they can also do an internal scan.

Denmy,
MMR jab is due 15mths and like wat May said, can be taken with chickenpox vaccine. Meg is due for hers mid of next month. Think Keenan should be due soon too right?

thanks once again mummies for ur well wishes!

mamapandy,
my last menses was around 17 jan and that's my 2nd cycle after giving birth. still breastfeeding as well. i have always had very long cycles like 40-50days kind even before edgar. so i didn't really keep track. but by early march, i tot how come my menses still not here yet. has been quite a long while, so i tested on 5th mar, result was negative. then tested again on 10mar. turned out positive. do u know when u baby dance? maybe from there u can calculate. 3 weeks from that day, if preggy, should show positive on the kits already. for us, it was first day of cny. hehe easy to remember :p

rachel, thanks for the jokes. very funnie!

sl, ya i feel the same. time to me is so precious now. i try to go for my facials and pedicure during lunch time so it doesn't "eat" into my free time. now that i'm preggy, i feel totally zonked by the time i reach home. i realy don't have the energy to play with edgar, esp sometimes he wants me to carry. realised that he has become esp clingy to me after i got preggy. well actually before i knew i was preggy he started to be clingy already (which is one of the reason why i suspected i was preggy coz a colleague told me that's what happened when she got pregnant with #2). i thinks babies are extrememly sensitive, or maybe it's due to the shichida lessons that he has been attending!! haha!

may,
i like ur hb's reply! i can't stand whoosy men, glad that ur hb stood up and rebutted! :D anyways, don't let your mil influence ur decision on when u want a #2. just ignore her lah. the decision shld lie with u and ur hb
happy.gif

cass,
oh dear, hope u are feeling better. i can't imagine how u can cope taking care of rory and being pregnant urself. please do take care. understand the emotional part. it's ok to cry it out if it makes u feel better
happy.gif

yuki,
ya he's very mischevious and cheeky these days. he likes pple to play with him. super active kid. i can't keep up with him at all!!

rachel - caleb still sleeps in sarong. in fact for weekends, we don;t have one which is placed at my home. so we normally have difficulty getting him to bed. so dylan is really good. is he on pacifier? caleb sad to say is still on pacifier and nowsaday seems more difficult to take it out when he sleeps.

casscl - hang on there. i understand that its tough when only one parent is at home. i also experienced that before and it was simply no joke...spending the whole day with Caleb all alone! i can go mad and simply burst into tears too when there is no help. btw, how long will your hb be away in Germany? try marking off the calendar and counting down to his return. do u have any frds or relatives in London to help? btw, i saw rory's pic in the yahoo grp and he is really a handsome chap! hehee..too bad if i have a girl....i will chup him already. hahaa...

cindy - thks for putting my orders in. yes pls proceed with my orders. Thanks again!
happy.gif

hmmm.. cant really remem when we BD, think its around my birthday that weekend so, should be around 22Feb to 24Feb.. started spotting from 11March to 20March.. by right, should have +ve results by now if really preggy right? I'm too busy these few days trying to pack up my desk and preparing to handover my stuff to the next teacher to go see a gynae. Next week will be starting work at NTU. See how it goes ba..

SY
Give you both some time. In the meantime, perhaps you can try to change yourself (your expectations). Give it some time, say a few months. I'm sure things will improve. All the best. Oh, forgot to add that another tip is for us women to close our eyes (to whatever we dislike abt them doing -eg leaving socks lying ard), whilst the men close their ears (to our nagging).

sysac
thanks.. heehee.. maybe will go for lunch with my hb. how much is it roughly for lunch for 2?

Morning Mummies

Rachel
The jokes are so funny! Really brightened up my day. Congrats that Dylan had self-weaned himself! Really save the possible heartache and worry of sleeping in the sarong esp now when they are so active and can sit up in the sarong!

Mummies who TBF even with short nipples
My close gf had just given birth and is really anxious on TBF, but the nurses and Sister Kang at MAH was telling her that her nipple is on the short side which makes TBF abit more challenging. Any moms with short nipples but yet successful in TBF? Can share how you've managed to latch baby on? Is it via using the nipple shield or really training baby to open mouth big big and wide open and latch on to the areola?

Mamachan,
I even have inverted nipple on one side of the breast. So she can use a nipple shield to guide the baby. The first time I breastfed Charmaine, the nurse introduced that to me. During Aden's time, he more pro, he can do it without the shield. So just have to perserve and guide the baby.

Yuki
Oh, I know where is the Jerry Grill. Is it usually crowded? another place where hb and i can go? is it bb friendly? do they hv seats inside or only outdoor?

Cass
Hang in there.. I can imagine how tired you are.. Try to rest also. My hb OT over the weekend and Ger was sick, so cranky and sticky.. and I was so so tired. Had to carry him ard. I didnt cook porr for him that weekend, and gv bread instead, so at least not so tired. Maybe u try cutting down on the cooking so that you can rest.

anyone interested in the holiday programmes at Julia Gabriel. More info can be found here. http://www.juliagabriel.com/Hday%20prog%20june%202007.pdf
i have called them and they suggest our babies join the Playclub (for 1.5 - 3yrs) rather than the Playnest (6mth - 1.5yrs). I'm keen to sign Edgar up for both the Week 1 and Week 2 English programmes, 9-11am at Evans road. Anyone keen? think there's 20% discount for group bookings (4 or more babies).

RP lunch
Any date set for this week ? Wed or Thur ?

Cass
Dun forget you need lots of rest too. Just rest while Rory is sleeping. Dun forget you got yourself the Tiger Food Jar too. Just use it to prepare the lunch so you dun need to watch over fire.

Krissie - Set meals shd be less that $15 and ala carte dishes are less that $10.

Yuki - Jerry's has a branch at Club Street too. I find that the food there is better than the one at Jalan Kayu. Like SL said , standard has dropped. When I first went, the clam chowder came in a small pot. Now, it's served in the bread. Not that nice
sad.gif
I've tried that Vietnamese restaurant b4 but cannot rem the hunk
happy.gif
Maybe, shall go refresh my memory again. Haha...

Denmy - The nurse at NUH will call me when Cephas is dues for his jabs. She told me MMR is to be taken at 15 months.

Cass - Do take care!

Rachel - Haha, Love the jokes!
