I do remem my gynae told me to take panadol before when I was pregnant if I have slight fever. However, if the fever is above 39deg, better go back to gynae to check on baby cuz its dangerous for foetus. In any case, if unsure, call gynae or pay him a visit to be sure.

Tried on the wings ... so lovely, but the small bits of feather keep coming out and Keith initially wanted to pull it off. But later he wanted to taste it. It's a bit wider than the his shoulders ... need to figure how to re-do the straps.

On maid,
I went through a thought-through process of what I wanted. My first priority was Fil because they can speak english. Mine has a serious communications problem though we know she's a very hardworking and honest girl. Took me 10 months to overcome the hurdle and now she's really a wonderful help to me. Christian or not, single or not, Indo or not, I find it's really down to luck and chemistry. I think one thing I have for me is I'm at home so I can keep watch but that's also something that's against me coz I have to see her day in day out. There are probably certain priorities one need to have, eg honesty and love for your kids but somethings you need to close an eye to, eg how things are being done.

It's true that we can't rush home to moment we see something wrong but in a way, it makes them aware that they are being watched and cannot be up to no good. But if the maid still very errant and refuse to change, then you have evidence against her. I won't expect to check every hour on the hour either, but the occasional checks will help I guess.

As mamachan said, is not really to be able to rush home in time. Is more to be aware what the maid is up to alone with the bb at home. I've heard too many horrid story about maid bring her Blangadashish lover home for hanky panky biz, not attending to bb and let bb cry for hours, beating the kids etc. In fact my cousin's fren discovered her maid contracted VD when she brought her for her regular checkup. Subsequently her neighbour told her that her maid had been bringing Blangadashish worker home in the afternoon to do "side biz". Luckily for her case the maid is alone at home. Can you imagine the kind of "danger" our bb are exposed to esp if it's bb gal.

In case mummies are wondering what we are talking about, my best fren's mummy will always examine my kids' thigh when they are baby.

Charmaine has got 1 fold in each thigh so she says next one is boy. So pop Aden, but Aden though fat does not have any fold on his thigh so she says no more 3rd kid for me. If baby has got 2 folds on each thigh , next one should be gal. Hee hee, must ask Tabbi and Esther to check babies and see how accurate this is.

Initially when we were planning to have maid though now my hubby says no. The first thing we thought of is to install the webcam, and the singtel package is quite good. I will put in kitchen and living room too. As for rooms, if the maid is sleeping in the same room, then not appropriate. Should install where kids are usually in. We will not tell, we were thinking of putting 2 in the living where the speakers are so it looks like part of the sound system hee hee

Kaelyn simply refuse to sleep in her cot these days. I'm talking to HB not to let her sleep in mattress instead beside our bed.
But HB want to Co sleep with BB...cos he scare if put bb on matteress she will crawl around in the nite when we are sound asleep and dunno.
At least co sleep... bb crawl on us and we know..
I cannot agree with his reasoning lor...cos if we are sound asleep...there are chances bb will roll of the bed mah.
I dun wan to co sleep with BB and dun wan to make it hard to keep her out this habit in future when she is bigger.

Even has a big arguement with HB last nite abt where to let Kaelyn sleep.Haizzz

P/s : I tried out the cry out method.. sucessful initially. Then Kaelyn back to very bad reaction. She vomit her milk or dinner aaaaafter excessive crying.

Last time Charmaine used to co-sleep with us, then we quickly adjust to her own bed beside us , and move her to her room thereafter. Now Aden and Charmaine sleep in the same room. I feel it will be better for you to train from young for her to sleep in another room.

I read a book for them everyday before bed, play the music, dim the lights then sit with them for a while till they sleep then I leave the room. Usually in the beginning they just need assurance that someone is with them

I won't let the maid know.... the paranoid me thinks, what if the maid is psycho and she knows about the webcam... she can go hide in a corner and do something to the baby still right? Actually, with kids around, the webcam is more for their own safety then anything else, so I feel dun need to tell... I rather be paranoid than regret anything... if your maid turns out to be good and honest and treat the kids well, then switch the webcam off when you dun need it later... but I agree, only in places where the kids usually are, and not in her bedroom etc...

personally I feel that letting babies sleep on the bed with parents can be pretty dangerous, unless your mattress is on the floor. Babies can roll around alot, and fall off. Also, sometimes we may accidently squash them or drop a pillow onto their faces. I also read that babies who sleep with parents tend to sleep poorer, and dun have a good night sleep, same with parents. So good to instill good sleeping habits when they are young, rather than lots of headache later when they start growing up and know how to demand for things. My ex-boss who sleeps with her son really regrets starting this habit... now the son is coming to 4 and still insists on sleeping with the mum. He can't get to sleep without her, and will whine and cry and stick to her like superglue if she tries to leave the room.
