Tink for diaper wise is really up to individual.. for some people they find tt pampers premium is good, so find mamy poko is good.. tink all diapers for us are juz trial & error. for me so far i hve used petpet and find it good will stick to it for normal use.

Mummies who use Pet Pet, how does it compare with other diapers like Fitti, Nepia and Mamy poko in terms of absorbency, fit and softness? btw, Is Pet Pet the cheapest diaper around? where sells the cheapest...NTUC?

Hi all,

Baby Nicole Yap was borned at 11.49am on 9Sep05 at Gleneagles Hospital through c-section GA. She weighs 2.925kgs, is 49cm long and has a head circumference of 35cm.

Will post some photos of her when they are ready!

very good, cos few occassions my girl really poo alot (watery kind) covering the whole diaper, surprisingly it doesnt leak at all.. Mamy Poko is comparable for this.. Nepia no comment, havent use b4

Fit:
ePetpet 'S' is almost the same as Mamy Poko 'NB'

Softness:
Can't compare tho, cos it is not fabric feel.. abit plastic..

I bought all my diapers from kiddy palace.. ard the same price for 'S'

Does any mummies experience pain at the lower part before delivery? Is that what is known as contractions or Braxton Hicks? Mine is quite painful sometimes and it goes off in a while. Wonder what's that.

can i just check, how many of you have opted for the 6in1 jab, and how many for the 5in1 jab? if we are going for the 5in1, must start the first jab when baby is one month old right? if not can wait until baby is 3 months old? what's the price difference? apart from the fact that if we opt for 5in1, baby have to take more jabs, what other big difference is there? the doctor said that for 5in1, baby will be in more pain, cause Hep B take separately more painful for baby? any comments?

Take a look at the schedule date for the vacinnation. I got it from my GP &amp; just find out that if your bb has taken the Hep B during newborn, then the 6-in-1 jab is not suitable. I have no choice but to opt for 5-in-1 jab.

My PD charged me $460 for 5-in-1 and 5th mth jab will be a 6-in-1 jab. As i went for 1st jab in poly so can't for 6-in-1. This price is include chicken pox jab. Each consultation is $30.

11:30am: Did routine CTG, then was referred to another doc for readings. She's standing in for my gynae so i've never met her before

12:00pm: Had the ultimate shock of my life. She said i had 2b induced, cannot wait for dr kowa to come back cuz water level is v low. i wanted to go home to bath eat and take hospital bag she said NO, GO DOWN TO LABOUR WARD IMMEDIATELY. i dun even have any labour signs! And i wanna eat mooncake!

12:30pm: Waiting in labour ward. super hungry, made hb buy bagel from starbucks. put on drips. inducement begins

1:45pm: Dr came to check for dilation. Turns out she burst my waterbag. 2cm dilated. Contractions started coming. Thought i can tahan..

3:15pm: Dying of contraction. Caved in to epidural..By 4pm i was 5cm dilated.

5:pm: Smiled my way to labour cuz epidural made everything better. i could still feel pain. Pushed a while and she popped without assistance!

Labour was quite a breeze cuz it took me only abt 4 hours, but it was very very painful cuz the dilation happened too quickly! doc told me it was going to take 12hours...and i wasnt mentally prepared to work with a gynae i've never met before..
 
hi wendy, nope, didn't do full month celebration... was too exhausted by motherhood n no one pushed for it...

anyone experienced baby crying n holding his/her breath for a few seconds till body turns black? had the shock of my life when Zephan held his breath for so long that his lips turned black yesterday. apparently it's not supposed to happen to babies his age.. only to newborns...

Have used all 3 of them.
Don't like Dryers cos' I found that it will sag if the diaper is too heavy and thus couse leakage. The fitting is not very suitable for my bb. The rubber band cut into her skin
Petpet has pretty good fitting for my bb and it's very cheap. considering continuing.
Pamper Premium, too expensive. My MIL knew about the price, so she don't change diaper very often so as to save money.

I faced the same prob as you. I also have bony hands. And the worst thing is my bb always want to nurse whenever I carry her even when she just finished her bottle of milk. i think she used me as her pacifier. If i don't let her suckle, she will cry very loudly. My MIL told me that it's becos' i smell of milk. My mom says it is becos bb is not full. don't know who is right. but for me, it's stressful not to be able to cuddle her without her crying....

re : Vaccine jab
the clinic that i go to suggest that i gave bb a separate hep b jab at week 6 and later go for the 5 in 1 jab when she is older. The reason is if we gave her all the jabs at one go, some bbs will have bad reaction to the jabs like fever as the jabs might be too strong for them. The nurse suggested step by step will be better and I think it sounds logical to me.

I will use normal backpack for my bb stuff cos' in this way, hubby can help to carry without feeling embarrassed.

anyone is using sarong to rock your bb to sleep? Wondering if there's any side effect with using sarong?

i called them - wow.. more than $0.30 per pc (51pcs for M size).. I'm on budget.. Drypers &amp; Petpet less than $0.20 per pc. But dun hv free delivery lah. I dun dare to buy 4 packs of same size at 1 go... unless those living nearby all agree then buy in bulk.

re vaccination
The table abv (package A) indicates Hep B 1st shot at Month 1, not Month 0, coz all babies hv their Hep B 1st shot at Month 0 (ie in the hosp). The key is whether they took the 2nd Hep B shot when they're 1 month old. If yes, then go for 5-in-1. If no, then can take 6-in-1 at 1.5 months.

i'm using an old haversack as diaper bag. Just throw in whatever u tink baby needs when u're out lor... diapers, wet wipes, tissue, extra clothing. i dun need 2 bring milk powder etc coz breastfeedin

wow if it were me i'd be totally upset... coz i like to be given advance notice before things happen, esp smthg as impt as childbirth! Also for baby to be delivered by another gynae... i'm not too sure i'd like it very much. Congrats on your newborn anyway! Hv plenty of fun enjoying your baby.

today my cl left.. so bz.. until now then can log on. my ds sleeping since 6pm hope he will not be cranky tonight and refuse to sleep.. then i ganna liao

i put the diapers etc in a big carry all ( a gift with purchase from biotherm last time.. big orange striped bag).. but there are no compartments.. need some search to get things but i dun think i will spend $ buying a diaper bag.

Congrats and am sure you are relieved to have given birth. Now is when a whole new journey starts.

Just to let u know that I too have given birth. Baby Matthew was born on the 3rd of Sept and he weighed 2.61kg :) So far it has been ok, just getting used to all the feeding :p

hi pinkroses, thanks for the link... doesn't seem like zephan has got apnea, cos it's for babies above 37 weeks. below that, the symptoms refer to respiratory immaturity that's not linked to a specific illness.. nevertheless, we're considering bringing him for a 2month check up, though the next jab visit is only in 3rd month...

so happy that i managed to go for my facial yesterday.... after the facial, my face felt so clean and good.... intially was peeling and dry.... and gosh!!!... spent $120 for that.... sigh.... $120 poorer.... ;(

True, a lot of clinics dun recommend for the 6-in-1 cos it's still new in the market like 2 yrs old. Reason is they are worried babies may develop fever easier. But it's very subjective cos I also heard there are babies that take the 5-in-1 jabs developing fever too.

If I am not wrong, there are supposed to be 3 shots for the Hep B. According to the Dr, the package A is meant for babies that had already taken their first Hep B (optional) in the hospital during mth 0 together with the BCG (compulsory). Then the subsequent shots will be in mth 1 &amp; mth 6. Can refer to the health booklet which will elaborate further.

The only difference between 6-in-1 &amp; 5-in-1 is additional Hep B. Their schedule will be different too cos it's USA standard while 5-in-1 is following Sg standard.
