The fish stall that i frequent, charge me $45 per kg for thread fish

. Now think back, im abit angry as i remembered that $45 is the increased price during CNY. Only last sat then i realised that she is still charging me at this price, so angry. i ask her y so ex, she said all along this price ah

. If i nvr remembered wrongly, i think last time she only charge me $35. Actually my fault oso, i shld ve check out the price each time i buy fish from her. I think tentatively, i still ve to get the fish from her as my market there only ve 2 stalls, so far her fish is fresher.

so ex! the market i frequent charges S$28 to S$30 for threadfin and S$35 for codfish and I thot that was expensive already!! Time to bargain man !!!

how about giving bao, mac's hotcakes, cheerios/honey stars with milk and fruits for breakfast ? U can also give avocado cream sandwich but more troublesome to prepare...

cody, what do u give dean with the brown rice ?

the price of the fish fluctuates lah. it floats around $35-40 per kg.

this fishmonger's very reliable, he says there are threadfin from different regions. Eg those from thailand are not so sweet, hence they're cheaper. Those from malaysia are not so tasty etc, the best are those from indonesia.

my MIL did a survey amongst the 3 and she claimed to be able to taste the difference as well. Eg those from supermarkets are from thailand, hence they're cheaper.

aiyohhh, i leave it to her entirely lah ... i'm not the fussy one actually, but dean's porridge IS really v tasty & naturally sweet.


Breakfast:
WOW!!! i am so impressed! did i read bread / corn flakes for breakfast? my dean is still taking his food pureed like a baby!
give him anything slightly chunky and i guarantee he'll vomit!

Seagal:
nothing, its just grounded brown rice with si shen, with some milk powder mixed in when cool. dean seems to like it!
my MIL says its a very nutritious breakfast even tho it looks absolutely eeky.

Cornflakes with milk - Which brand of cornflakes? Kellogs Cornflakes? With fresh milk? Wouldn't the breakfast be cold? Or with their formula milk? But with formula milk like very yucky leh!

Mashed potatos - Which kind of potatoes to buy so that can mash easily? What else do you put in to mash to achieve that smooth taste? Mayonaise?

My boy's breakfast is very simple - paiseh to admit, he will just get 240 ml of Gain IQ and some slices of apples that's all! On some days, he gets 1 whole first born egg. Sometimes he gets a slice of cheddar cheese which he loves!

ic...si shen brown rice was shermyn's first meal. u mil's right that it's very nutritious and makes them strong. but once we introduced porridge to her, she rejects it liao. maybe too plain for her liking ....

KC, i mix the breakfast cereals with 60ml of FM and hot water. FM (Gain IQ) quite nice leh..

U'll have to buy the US potatoes which are easier to mash. can put a bit of butter for better taste.
 
Got these recipes from the East Mummies thread.

Very easy to prepare. The egg custard is yummy!! I use the whole egg though, not just the yolk. Can also add meat (like those steamed eggs we adults eat.)


Steamed Beancurd Cup
--------------------
Ingredients:
~1/4 square piece of beancurd(depends on how much your baby can eat)
~ 1 eggyolk, beaten with some water
~ 1 ch sp carrot(grated) & tomato(chopped finely)
~ a few spinach leaves, blanched and chopped finely

Method,
Mash the beancurd with fork, add beancud and veg to beaten egg. Place in cup/bowl and steam for abt 20mins(low heat). Make sure this is cook before serving to your baby. Turn it out and serve with rice(make sure the rice are very soft).

Egg yolk Custard
----------------
Ingredients:
~ 1 egg yolk
~ 60ml of formula/breast/fresh milk
~ a little water
Method:
~ Beat yolk with water and milk. Place in cup/bowl and steam over low heat til cooked. You can serve this with veg or anything as part of a meal.

Jean takes grinded brown rice with FM (cos my MIL refuse to use EBM)... say it's too watery to feed... my MIL also not keen to try other foods besides porridge on Jean... duh...

but that boy also one kind, he doesn't use his teeth to chew. everything has to be pureed!
 
Elicia having fever since yesterday noon... Wah so tired... She very fussy!!

Breakfast
I will feed her fruit, some small bread, raisin, chesse... Many thing la. She will sit on the floor, watching the TV cartoon and eat herself till she is full.

Outside eating
We having been letting Elicia eating her own outside since 2 weeks ago. Very good, coz when she got the food to eat, she will keep on eating and will not cry or do those thing we parent all dun like. Maybe u all can try it. But it will be very messy. Must bring baby wipe!!!

Hi mummies,

I am keen to buy this table and chairs set from Little Tikes.

Just called the distributor. They can offer S$89 for bulk purchase of 5 sets. Their online retail price is S$139.90.

Kids Mall also selling at S$139.90. Toys R Us selling S$119.95.

Also compared it with Ikea's Mammut's plastic series .. S$49 for the table and S$16.90 each for the chair. Total will come up to S$82.80 for 1 table and 2 chairs. Prices are quite close ... only thing is the ikea's stuff can be dismantled and kept away.

bought shermyn for her MMR jab last Sat. She also took chicken pox jab at the same time so 1 jab on each arm......eeks !!!

but the surprising thing is, she didn't cry at all! We thot drama baby will wail loudly from the pain and were fully prepared for it .. lugging her favourite toys and singing when the pd administers the jabs but this little lady really surprised us! Needless to say, we were so proud of her !

I have long given up and have since love her near-baldness.

I will be immensely proud if rae is like shermyn.. so brave at her MMR + Chixpox jab.
i cant bear to think how rae will react.
now when she has a bad fall, she will cry "pain pain, carry" n expect us to mollycoddle her. sigh.

i will send her for her mmr jab when shes at least 18m.
That said, i didnt know measles can be so traumatic for the child and MOTHER!

shermyn has so much fun at the pool. Pics are great!esp the first 2.

Elicia have been feeling not well due to teething. Now got bad cough and running nose. Dun really have time to login to see... Somemore now she dun wan to eat or drink, so headache and heart pain. We both cannot sleep well... Elicia refuse to take any med at all so she only drink water!!

my elder boy using the same high chair as mngo. u can get at carrefour and kidsmall. the brand is "jane". he still using the high chair for food and playing becos the chair can be taken down to form a table and chair. its a five point harness.
