It's too dangerous for me go out cos left only week to deliver. Have signs of contractions but no pain. Cannot afford to stress everyone if I turn up for mummies night out. I was adv by gynae cannot walk too much this week. Later I will ask Lawrence bring me to Sakae for dinner

This is how Aston learn 1-100 before he turns 2yo.
He can read and recognise them. Wat was done is simple, we write the nos 1-100 on the doodle writing erasable board and he repeats after us. I could rem that was the activity we have with him almost every night for a few mths.

Does the same doctor attend to Benny all the time? I don't know but how abt doing it two fold? Make appointment with the current doc to check out the lump asap. Meanwhile, make enquires for an established doc/surgeon in this area for a second opinion?

We're like having a VIP pass whereby we can pop by KKH anytime to see his surgeon if there's any symptom of infection. It's me whose hesitating. I was afraid that his surgeon might want to admit him, give him antibiotics drip or even op on him again.. Since I'm quite experienced with this lump thing now.. I know I still have some time before we rush into the surgeon's office. Was trying to straighten out my thought and planning the next step.

Think you better stay at home and "nurse" yr belly. I think yr twins can't wait to see you, Daddy and Aston.. Worry mum was like following you around during BBQ, afraid that you might trip and fall with the heavy load in front.. Seems like worry mum is an all rounder.. can handle kids and cares for preggie mummies. BTW, is it ok for your twins to "pop out" now?

Yes they can pop out anytime now, but really prefer them to pop out on 19Jul which is chosen date by expert and many people says the chinese lunar is very aupicious. Every day we are telling them come out only on 19Jul. Worrymum is jus very very lovely mummy, big one small one all she can handle.

I too think you should give the doctor a call. Can you ask the doctor to propose if there's a more qualified doctor within KKH to attend to Benny's case? The doc is just a General Surgeon? Have you find out from this doctor the other cases that KKH (not just him) that has attended and what's the various common and extreme situations like? Recurrence is common or depends on luck (on able to clean up the cyst)?
btw, when I mean private, I was thinking if you have consider going to the polyclinic to get a referral letter ... that puts Benny as a heavily subsidized patient and that's the cheapest option, but you can't choose the doctor.

See Joanne, everybody wants you to go back to the same doctor. Go and hear what he has to say first. Make sure it's not due to failure of the surgery. Then you can consult 2nd opinion. What Sarah say is true. Doctors do not like to give out reports. You have to be firm because you are a paying customer. You don't have to tell him you want a 2nd opinion. Just tell him you want to keep a record for reference.

One close friend of mine encountered infection in cervic and private hosp suggested one treatment method which KKH do not have the equipment. My friend wanted to get treated in KKH cos she scared high cost non subsidized in private. After hearing this and getting reconfirmation from private hosp, she proceeded with private treatment cos that is the most fastest way and painless way to clear the cyst. So no choice, KKH do not have it so she get it done in private hosp.

I kind of know what's going to happen if I bring him back now. (He's been admitted for 5 times for the same thing) She will either
1)put him on oral antibiotics, fix another appt to see her again.
2)Get him admitted for oral or drip antibiotics then KIV.. they'll perform either ultrasound or CT scan to check for abscess in the cyst
Then both will end up with Benny being pushed into operating theatre again. If it's (touch wood)another cyst recurrence, operation is a must but the main thing is.. will the cyst come back again?
BTW, for this yr within 6 months, he had 1 nuclear imaging scan on thyroid, 2 CT scans, 1 Xray and 4 or 5 ultrasound done. Can someone enlighten me.. is it fine for a 4yo kid to go thru so many procedures within half a yr???

Joanne: found out this for you from a doc friend.. the paeds ENT is Gerard Chee and he is at Paragon now. He used to be NUH head of ENT. YOu can google search for his name and he has his own webpage, hope this helps!

It has been a very stressful day for me, I woke up at 6 to give my girl Panadol, 7.30 am we were at NUH A&E, was not very pleased with the doc and the service there. Waited for about 2 hours even though was so early in the morning.
We came back at about 10am and she was ok until 1pm then fever came back. I went out for about 20 mins and guess what when I got home, my maid told me my girl fever went up to 38.9 and she was complaining of tummy pain. I freaked out and called Mt E for appt, was told they cannot see her today. Then I called another doc friend who is seeing patient at Mt Alvernia, he is on leave this week but so nice, offered to see Charlene at Mt Alvernia, so I rushed down there for blood test and urine test.
Thank God all the test results are normal. She has some throat infection, and i guess as parents we are careless, esp my husband, didn't even check her throat, because so far charlene never complain of any pain in her throat! we are too concerned about Dengue fever! haha.. now at least i can rest for a while.. really need a good massage!

Wow... mommies, you've been chatting so much since I last read the forum...
Firstly, moms' night out: I can't make it on Jul 13!!!! Don't think my dh wants to be alone since he's finally got one day of leave.
We're not gonna be far, just in town area, booked for a room in a hotel.... hee, quickest, time-saving getaway plus being still near to the kids in case of emergency.
Anyone for this Thurs evening, Jul12? Or next Mon evening, Jul 16? Weekend is also no go for me too.

e.g. Does this indicate a recurrence of cyst? Why? If not, tell her frankly that you'd like a second opinion on the matter and take Benny home with you.

I was so mad with B today. He's been grabbing whatever he can and swinging off whatever he can recently. He was already told-off yesterday by hubby but today he did it again - we were preparing to go downstairs and he had opened the shoe cabinet doors and decided to hold onto the door to take a swing there... ridiculous idea right? Everything on top of the cabinet came down (including breakables) and the cabinet nearly came down too, if not for my helper who stopped it in time. And Keith was also standing in front of the cabinet. I can't imagine if it had fallen down. I scolded Ben and grounded him for 2 weeks off playground.

While we are on the topic of writing, does anyone know where to get exercise books for beginning writers, ie. the type with three lines drawn out to practise writing on.

Joanne, I think you shd go bak to the same doctor too for the sake of letting him know how things have progressed since the last time u see him. Then on the other hand, get all medical records and history from him and get 2nd opinion elsewhere. Jo, dun worry first, go get doctor okie?

Joanne...will be praying for Benny. I agreed with all the other mummies, go to the same doctor and inform him/her that there seems to be a reoccurence and be firmed to ask for a set of medical record that you want to keep for reference and then seek a 2nd opinion elsewhere.
