(2003) Calling all 2003 babies

Hi moshimoshi!

I'm a Japan craze too! Though I never thought of being a Eng-Jap translator, I did secretly hope to marry a Jap guy too. Haiz, but no such luck in meeting one...

The themed party is a fabulous idea! Bet that will keep all our kids looking forward to it. Maybe can explore the idea a bit further.

Sounds like you found Mel an idea school! Lucky you! I'm still clueless on where to send Brandon. Did a check on Etonhouse (near my place) and they are charging $3000 for 10 weeks. The fee alone is enough to put us off. May consider a church kindy too.

Hi prisneo!

The Japan pics are beautiful! Really wish I'm living there too.

How's Vancouver like? Is it cold all year round? I was in Halifax for some conference years ago. Loved the weather and people there.

I'm still in the midst of updating (rather, backdating) my blog. Once ready, will "invite" you gals over.

Hi Sarah!

Seems like you know me best! Yeah, I'm busy clearing the house. Can't imagine the amount of stuff we have accumulated over the years. Time to start packing soon cos April 07 is drawing pretty close. Time really flies!

We actually travelled by car. It was a long drive. If I haven't misplaced my passport, we would have dropped by switzerland too.

For JG,
"EduDrama is fundamentally a teaching methodology in simple terms, it is about teaching and learning through interaction, expression and drama" Head of EduPlay Programmes.

I'm hoping to enrol both the kids for different programmes on the same day. But not sure if it's possible.

Thanks for the advice on Kindermusik. That's my thought too when I visited their website. We are actually doing our own version of music & mvmt at home. But I was thinking it might be more fun for Cheryl to do it with a group of kids her age. But then, I may be wrong.

Hi Meilan!

You bet it was freezing! The temp hardly went above -3 degrees throughout our stay. The lowest temp we encountered was -7 degrees during the daytime.

Great to know you studied in Japan! So I bet you can speak fluent Japanese. I have tried taking up the Jap beginner course on two occassions. But had yet to complete them cos nobody to converse with. Maybe I should brush up my Jap. Mind if I try practicing Jap on you?

Hi miracle_bebe,

Think mine was something similar too. Remembered the gynae mentioned the sac was found empty after D&C. We were not sure what happened exactly cos I was seeing a GP at that time.

Hi ky,

Don't worry too much about neglecting your kids. Sometimes, they may need "personal" time too. Not sure about others, mine do.

Hi Serenade

I am also in the process of updating blog. Did not have the time when ds was young as he needed more attention then. Now, he wants some of his private time so I can work on the blog. My previous blog was cancel when we left Singapore for Vancouver.

Vancouver is not cold throughout the year except during winter and spring. Dh was in the central of Canada, Saskatoon for 3 months, it was cold throughout and during winter, it was below -27 degree celius. The lowest it goes in Vancouver is in the below -10 degrees.

Heard from my friend over there that this year snow was worst than last year and they have a blackout due to snowstorm a week ago.

Hi

If you all don't see me around, I am busy packing and clearing the place as we are vacanting the apartment and going off to Osaka before we fly back to Vancouver so will have no more internet connection. See all again when I am back in Vancouver.

hi mommies,

has any mommies/dds tried out Mandeville Music school at United Sq? Like to hear your feedback.

Hi sarah & seranade, zavier went to kindermusik for couple of trials. location inconvenient. As for musical instruments, i let him decide. he likes piano, violin and guitar.

And to all mommies here, Happy New Year and wish all of you best of health & happy days ahead

Hi moshimoshi & serenade,

I am a jap craze after my first Tokyo trip in 2005. Yummy food, snacks and many many cutie, sweetie stuff tt cant resist not to buy. my fav is My Melody & little twin stars.. keke.. will definitely want to plan a trip again, and this time with zavier. felt guilty when i went for F&E during my first trip. I stayed at hotel kitcho and rates are afforable. Jap rooms rates are better if you have 4 to 5 pax.

and on jap food, hv u tried the jap food tucked at corner of meidi-ya. cant recall the rst name. their ramen is real authentic jap but a bit high on price. zavier luvs edamamae

Hi moshimoshi,
Yap, you are right! They tested the child to decide the appropriate starting level.
Aston started his new school at Cherie Hearts yesterday & so far adapting fine. Few weeks back, we asked Aston what he will like to learn more, reading, music, drawing and he told us reading so we kind of relook at enrolling him to ICANREAD.

Hi Moo87 & Moshimoshi,
I never been to Japan and I heard it's nice place to visit. Sister-in-law is a Japanese and she lives in Tokyo !! I personally like Burberry Label Bag !!! Moo87, did you see these bags when you are there ? Are they expensive ?

Joanne,
Has the swelling gone down after 2 dosages (or more?) of TCM? If not, can I suggest you go straight to PD? It has been a while since you discovered the lump, and so I think you should not wait any longer.

Hi sarah
Thanks for yr concern.. He will be taking 4th dosage today. TCM seems to help as the lump did get smaller. Will let him take a few more dosage before going to KKH for appt. Will be consulting chinese physician before getting more herbs from Chinese Medi Hall at Sims Ave later..

Have just read from CNA news that earthquake in Taiwan is causing slow internet connection.. Can't open my mailbox.. *sigh*

Joanne, good to know that the lump is getting smaller. Will continue to keep Benny and your family in prayer.

Hi all

I just finished packing all of our luggages and cleaning up the apartment and will be online only when we are back in Vancouver in January as we will be leaving for Osaka tomorrow night after the apartment inspection and returning the internet modem to the service provider. Will see all of you online when I am back in Vancouver.

Hi apricot, i missed Burberry Blue Label. my sis got them this apr, nice and price afforable compared to burberry london. next round, i will defintely get 1. Must get zavier to meet up with aston. hope he can get some "reading" qi from him. zavier is too lazy. i tried to get him do coloring.. he will now says " mummy, tomorrow can?"

Thanks MH

Priscilla, Thank q n bon voyage!!

Not sure if i'll be able to log in this coming few days so wish u all in advance, a Happy New Year. May yr family be blessed with luck and good health.. *muck*

Hi, Joanne, me too having some problems in logging in. Glad to hear that the lump is getting smaller.

Anyone else?

hi Lena

I was there at SAM today at abt 10+ but didn't see u ... btw, I was at ACM for the Curious George movie yesterday. Ben loves it; it was kinda last min when we saw it in the events and didn't have time to tell anyone else

.ky.

Happy 2007 to all!

Can't believe our kiddos are turning 4 this year. Time really flies.

Lena, how did school go for Mel today?

Apricot, does Aston like his new school?

How abt the other kids who are attending school? Any problem adapting to school life after the hols break?

Does any mommies know what type of songs are taught in N2? I heard that they don't teach nursery rhymes in Sg. True?

And, kristins_mom, where have you been? Been busy shopping?

Btw, we just came back from a shopping trip in Paris
happy.gif
Managed to get two pairs of Bally shoes at 110euros each. Original price was 250-290 euros a pair. And for those who like Salvatore Ferragamo shoes, you'll be delighted to know they can get as cheap as 100 euros per pair. But limited in qties and designs.

Hi ky
Change of plans, that's why u didn't see me at SAM. My friend's son had fun with the canvas thing, did ben try that? Curious George at 1pm is a bit late for us, we are super early people. Do u know if we can get curious george vcds here?

Hi serenade
So that's why u have been missing too. Yes, your bally shoes are a steal, what dort of shoes do u usu buy? I love pumps, those flatties are great for running after restless mel. but i am buy cheapo ones ;)
Mel starts sch on 4 jan, today 2jan is a public hol in SIN. She will do just 2 hrs for 2 days and rest for the next 2 days then resume full-scale, they have a staggering programme that spilts the class into 2 groups for the teachers to know the kids better. Not sure if the sch will do nursery rhymes but definitely heaps of christian songs. Will share more in weeks to come. Meanwhile, u enjoy those shoes!

Happy New Year!

Its been a very long time since I got any chance to login any forum web site. Was trying to read all the past posts ... its really long!!

DS is starting school this Friday and I just realised that I've not got him his white school shoes. When paying @ Bata just now, kinda shocked at the costs of white shoes. Din realised that plain white shoes are that EX!

Looking forward to send him back to school, really wonder how my mom stands him while I'm overseas??!!?? Or am I just too impatient with him?!?

Hi Mommies!

Happy New Year!

Haven't got a chance to read the past posts yet.

Just dropping a note quickly while at my parents' place. Internet access is not convenient at the serviced apartment.

We've been keeping well but really busy. Kids were sick a couple of times - diarrhea and cold -since we touched down.

Bryan might be sent in for surgery on Thu for circumcision. Been advised by two PDs to do it... don't know yet coz we still need to speak to the surgeon tomorrow.

Will try to catch up with you moms... in the case of surgery, maybe it might be easier for you people to drop by at joo chiat for tea, how's that?

till soon!

Happy New Year Mommies..

Not having a very good start for 2007. Having some problems at home. MIL's leg was wheeled over by my bro in law's car, brought Benny to GP, his tumor did get smaller but doc insist we bring him to KKH A&E tomorrow instead of waiting for his appointment on 25.01.2007... eversince 31.12.2006, have been praying every night to have a better tomorrow... *sigh*

Better not spoil the mood here.

Benny will give school a miss tomorrow as he'll be going to KKH but sounds like he's excited over his 'promotion' to N2, they used to sing lotsa nursery rhymes and christian songs in N1 but think it'll cut down in N2 as they'll have more learnings now.

Hi all mommies,
Happy New Year !!!!!!

Hi Serenade,
Aston adapted to his new school, school bus, friends and teachers well. This gives us lesser worries while we work. But last Thurs, while playing and snatching wooden puzzles, one boy knock the block on this forehead and there is a small lump with a 2mm cut. After applying some medicine, his hut healed now. This was a little problem so far he had for us. Overall he eats well and sleep well there. Today he will be trained to drink from cup instead of milk bottle and I am excited to find out later from his principal how Aston is coping.

Hi Kristine's mom,
What happen to have the circumcision on Bryan ? Sorry I am really ignorant abt this process, I will like to know and watch out for Aston, and if you cannot tell here, pls PM me. Thanks.
Am ok with tea at Joo chiat and I do hope can arrange on weekends
happy.gif

Hi Joanne,
Relieved to hear that the lump gets smaller and this shows TCM works for him.

Hi MH,

Did you mention b4 that Wei Shuen has stains on her teeth after taking the chinese medicine ?
Aston also has stained teeths and we are quite disturbed by it and we are bringing him soon to see dentist to check him.

hi everyone ... happy 2007!

This year's been a quiet change into the new year for us ... Ben's still in holiday mood as school will only open on Friday, but I don't expect great change. Guess activities would be pretty much the same, except they are going to introduce Phonics. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they'll do Jolly Phonics and not Letterland.

Was just reading that it's good to take a photo on the first day of school and last day of school, best at a same location ... for memories sake.

I'm ok for tea at Joo Chiat, for sundays preferably. K's mum, I'll pm u my hp ... u wanna pop over to Punggol to see Gourney this coming Sun (& join the playgroup)?

lena, yes yes, we tried drawing at the big board at SAM ... but was there fundamentally for the Arts Explorer ... Meilan was there with family as well ... Curious George was screening at ACM on 31 Dec at 4pm, not at SAM. Yes, you can get the VCD (RP : 19.90); saw it in YP mag Jan 07. Can try popular, kiddy palace, carrefour, laser flair, blue max, poh kim, gramophone ... but it's a movie, not a series ... fun and the yellow hat man has a name ...

.ky.

Hi Joanne
I am glad that u are taking Benny to KKH, i trust the specialists more. keep us posted.

Hi K's mom
So much happening on your side. Am fine with tea, late Jan preferably. Hope things go well with Bryan.

Hi Prisline
Good to hear that Aston is adapting well, i hope Mel will too ;) Tomorrow is Day 1!

Hi ky
$19,90 for curious george? no way! I rather she buys more books. What's the name of the man with the yellow hat? Great idea abt the photo taking, but not sure if i would rem to do that on the last day, anyway, will bring camera 2mrw.

Hi aa
You're so right abt those costly bata shoes, i got Mel the ballerina with rubber strap type and cost me abt $20. Thought bata sch shoes are supposed to be cheap???

I think i have a NY resolution, i.e. to buy everything cheap haha

Hi Lena,
I think $19.90 is Riggit 19.90. This is becos I bot at this price when I was in Msia last mth. If this $19.90 is Sgd price, then this is outright so expensive !!!!
Aston also enjoy CC very very much and hmm the song very well. Yellow hat man is called Ted.

Ha ha..my NY resolution is also to buy everything cheap !!!!!!!!

Hi mommies,

Zavier attended first day of N2 at PCF. He refused to let go of dd although i was there. DD sweet talked and MIA after a while. Zavier coped well so I sneaked out too. MIL went in without my knowledge and caused havoc which I got to know after class.. Zavier refused to let her go and cried out his lungs. Told MIL she cant go tomorrow. Think I will send him in tomorr again.

Been excited preparing for his N2 as I wanted to enrol him to CC, but MIL n HB not keen. I was ignorant that I did not know Zavier is eligible for N1 till Sep'06. Makes me guilty tt he skipped N1
sad.gif
and to make up for his missed lessons of play and music, i putting my $ to his interest, he likes music. will be attending Mindeville Music at UE this sat.

Hi Apricot,
Hrd of the curios george during our last meetup. Will u be getting for me? or where can I get this VCD in Sin? Oh ya. my NY resolution is to exercise and lose some weight. have been eating and eating w/o exercise. Put on 10Kg+ after 8wks of last maternity leave in Dec'03.

Hi Moshimoshi,

Bata shoes really ex.. I bought a pair from Hougang Point at $12.90 with single velco same like bata. I will be gg to BKK in Feb'07, will try to get some shoes there cos cheaper also.

Hi moo87,
Pls forgive me. I rem that I will buy for you if I go Msia and this was wat I mention during the dinner. I indeed went in Dec and I forgot abt it. Like wat Ky says, try see if those places she mentioned sell Curious George. Thousands of apologies..

Moshi,Moo87,
I last saw Curious George vcd at Poh Kim video at less than $10. Check it out.

These days Bata shoes are no longer 'buy and throw away'...Btw, I don't find them any much cheaper in BKK.

Serenade,
Sounds like you had a good shopping spree. I love shoes too, though not as crazy abt bags.

Any particular reason the concern of learning rhymes?

Moshi,
Good luck to your Day One!! Tell us abt it. Btw, I just realized that Hannah's CC does not practice hands washing and wiping bottoms after toileting. I was horrified! It was just a simple and basic hygiene practice. I was told they are relatively young. Anyway, I insisted that the CC follows my hygiene standards for Hannah.

Kristin's_mom,
I thought you are stranded in M'sia due to the flooding. Hope you had a good time.

Hope Bryan and Kristin has recovered, besides the pending surgery. Keep us posted. As for gathering, let us know when's a good time for you.

Hi Mummies,

Other than Bata (which used to be the cheaper choice), where else can I get white shoes?
DS outgrown his shoes pretty fast, need to look for alternative sources (if any).

aa, try kiddy palace.. they have those Barney, snoopy brand of school shoes with velco, selling at $13.90, if you got the membership card, u r entitled to 10% off.

Yeah, think all mummies having the same NY resolution, mine is also Buy cheap things, and lose weight..

moo87, my Benjamin attending the N2 at PCF too. He is adapting well. As he attended the Apple Tree Playgroup last year, he has no problems in adapting into new environment. Only thing that he has to wake up as early as 6.45am, so is rather cranky for him.

Joanne, how's the review yesterday? What decision?

worry mum
They drew blood from him for test. Will have to visit specialist clinic next fri for ultrasound and drewing of specimen.

His drawing of blood is not from fingertip, they have to insert needle just like having drip and allow blood to drip from it. I hugged him and both of us were crying during the process. Hopefully, he'll forget about the incident fast cause I think it'll be more difficult on his next appt when they'll have to insert needle into his neck.

I don't have to hunt for white shoe as Benny can wear any shoe to his childcare development centre.

K's mum
What causes doc to make such decision? Would like to keep a lookout for Ben N Bryan as well. is it due to foreskin problem? Maybe you can consult a Malay neighbour on after sugery care. Think they're more experienced in handling such surgery.
