Originally engaged her for 1 month but we love her so much we extended her service for 4 months!
1. She prioritised my rest & recovery during the first month. I had an e-sect, and immediately upon my return from the hosp, Hua Jie took care of all of baby’s needs so both my husband and I could rest. She is NOT calculative at all, and will not demand /ask for the 2-hr rest, she’s ok with taking care of baby 24/7 in fact we tell her not to work so hard.
2. She loves baby - this was most important to us. She didn’t view this as a job, she viewed it as a responsibility. She makes it an effort to talk to baby, and baby is always so happy in her arms. I appreciate how she doesn’t coo to my baby, she actually talks and explains to him. So cute! She also holds baby’s hand when he drinks milk, so that he will not jump up in fright. He has lots of night terrors and jumps quite a bit at the 1.5-2 month mark. Baby loooooooooves her and smiles at her so much!
3. Her food is amazing! Shall let the pictures do the talking. I’m not a picky eater but she still does her best to make wonderful dishes! She makes her own meehoonkueh from scratch, caters to our tastebuds, even makes safe-during-confinement curry (w/o coconut milk). Her pig trotter vinegar & pig stomach soup are star dishes!! Btw she doesn’t just cook for my husband and me, she cooks for my entire family of 8! Even taking into account my 87yo grandma’s dietary needs.
4. Baby sleeps with her, but she will give us very regular updates about him. We live in a landed home, so baby sleeps with nanny downstairs. But she will voice message us and send us pictures of baby when baby is with her, to update us about baby.
5. She doesn’t pressure us into anything we don’t want to do. We didn’t get a baby monitor because of privacy reasons, and although it was more inconvenient for her (she had to pay attention to baby’s cries even while cooking), she respected our decision. I’m also not a fan of pacifiers, and Hua Jie is very supportive of what we choose.
6. Exceptionally clean and hygienic. Will auto initiate to regularly use lemon to clean my Phillips sterlizer. Handwashed all of baby’s clothes (until I told her to use washing machine instead!!). Her living area and all of baby’s items are also packed neatly. She even took the initiative to organise all of baby’s bigger clothes that were in storage!
Feel free to pm if you’d like her contact!! She’s available Feb 2026 onwards
