Ya, wedding especially the morning tea ceremony because usually couples will seek auspicious timings for themselves and own parents. If you happened to be there and sway sway clash with your 8 characters, wouldn't be too good lo. Kiasee during this period better. Wedding dinner just go & eat & smile, don't give congratulations

How I wish can 40.. But I be paying $4300 for the confinement.. So trying to cut costs too. As our cash were all out during ivf. So just my helper and me, plus my mom looking out.

Cl is so costly. Do U think 14 days is enough? I thinking to cut cost n hire 14 days only. Teach the helper and us what to do.
 
Hi all, my cousin in law's wedding is coming. Church wedding, tea ceremony plus wedding dinner... all I suppose to attend. Do you think I should go? This is my 3rd pregnancy. My 1st pregnancy ended up to be an anencephaly case, so I aborted my wanted pregnancy. My 2nd pregnancy was an ivf and ended in ectopic case. This pregnancy is a natural pregnancy. So do you all think I should go for this wedding ? I have friend wedding in June too. Do you think I should go ?

It really depends on your comfort level. If you do not feel comfortable, don't go. Follow your heart.
 
I find it ok. However I am just afraid. I attended my friend's wedding engagement during my first pregnancy and it ended to be a sad case for me.

Dearie, if you are afraid, perhaps skip it just to be safe than sorry? We can't explain these things but if we can avoid putting ourselves in a position where we keep worrying which in no way benefits our efforts to protect our pregnancies, I guess no one can fault us. It is also a form of taking the path of least regrets. The possible impact of attending others' celebrations didn't cross my mind as being first time mum, I'm pretty clueless but after reading the posts, I would take note & decide to give any such event a miss if it occurs.

I wld be attending my brother 's wedding next weekend.. As it is my brother's wedding I do feel ok to attend. But i didn't go for his 过大礼 in December ....my hub went with hi. Instead

Actually nothing much the CL can do in 14 days. Either you chiong the full 28 days or you don't hire at all. Actually, the CL main scope is to cook confinement dishes and do housework. If you are breastfeeding, she's of not much use. My personal thoughts. Ultimately after 14/28/40 days, you are on your own. Might as well save up the money and figure how you chiong during this period. It will work.

I think it broils down to comfort level. Personally i attended baby shower, weddings, toddler's birthdays etc. Won't skip it if i am close to the host. The only thing i will not attend is 白事 which i think will clash bah.

Actually i think CL can help to a certain extent even if bf-ing. At least can really rest when bb is not latching. Agree that after the whichever, we have to be on our own. But at least for that 28 days, we have "legitimate" reasons to be abit "lazy". Lol

But then again, if we are not hands-on during that 28 days, when the CL leaves, it will be very siong.

Depends on what kind of mommy you are - if you are that kind of sticky mommy who cannot leave the kid to a stranger even for one min (me! Me!) getting a CL is a waste of time & money. Must get a good CL, my friend Kenna bad CL and had to change CL within 2 weeks - stole her TWG teabags etc

I avoided all during my pregnancy. Pantang. Some say bride's ba quite strong the little beanie. Crash.

That's what I worried. If a good one can help ease your load. If bad U can really pay to suffer. I am having twins which is why I am thinking of hiring one cos I do not think the new helper can cope with two. However my house is small so I am thinking squeeze so many ppl in one house for 14 days is better than 28 haha.

Then i quite heng. My CL is quite good. I can trust my bb with her while i went back to work for while. Huh? Teabags oso stole? Really kian peng le.

Actually, CL can help with night feeds too. My aunty suggested that I pump out the milk in the day time for the CL to bottle feed the baby at night, so at least I get a good rest. I think it's actually quite a good idea... especially for a gan chiong first time mommy like me - Definitely need all the help I can get!

Depends on your philosophy, Bunny33. Most of my friends told me if money is not an issue, should go ahead and get CL for your sanity... haha... And most recommended that I extend beyond 28 days to 40 days. I followed their advice because I'm 1st time mommy....

Oh, if you get C-sec instead of natural birth, do consider extending to 40 days regardless. It takes time for the wound to heal and you'd want some time after healing to pick up the ropes from the CL.

Very happy for you! Slowly, slowly ok.... Nausea gone = half of the battle won. To me, that was the worst part of the pregnancy. Continue sharing with us ya... we will cheer you on :)
