Hey Kee HK Seafood

Feast on traditional Hong Kong food in a HK-style dai pai dong (大排档: “big licence stall” in Cantonese) right here in Singapore, at Hey Kee. This newly opened restaurant pays tribute to the open-air food stalls that used to dot the streets and alleys of Hong Kong, complete with old-school vintage interiors that you’ll be posing with while waiting for your order to be served. Don’t get too distracted though. Save some attention for the food, which amply delivers authentic HK flavours.

We tried the Typhoon Shelter’ Style Stir Fried Crab, the Pan Fried Beef Tenderloin Cubes with Potatoes, and Hey Kee’s Signature Claypot Seafood Porridge. Everyone’s favourite though was the Steamed Soon Hock with Chopped Yellow Chilli which was amazingly fresh and perfectly cooked, with layers of flavours emanating with every bite.

Hey Kee HK Seafood is at 102 Guillemard Rd, #01-01, Singapore 399719. Opening hours: 11.30am – 3pm, 5.30 – 10.20pm daily. Reserve your table at https://www.heykee.sg/en_SG/reservations

:: GIVEAWAY:: AniMah(Jong)

This lunar new year, we’re playing mahjong with the kids. Not the actual one, don’t worry! We’ll be playing AniMAH(Jong), Singapore’s first animal mahjong game that’s designed just for families. Modelled after the classic game, AniMAH(Jong) requires players to use pattern recognition and pattern-forming skills to advance through three levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced.

Four players with 13 tiles each take turns to make their moves, assembling sequences from the same animal suit to win. It’s easy enough for children from age four to play, and great fun for every generation, we reckon. Best of all, kids will be building focus, hand-eye coordination, memory skills, and social interaction cues like taking turns and communication as they play. And that, to us, is a win-win situation no matter how many ‘pong’s you get, yes?

Get Ani(MAH(Jong) at the Lunar New Year price of $68 (R.R.P $88) from now till 28 February 2024, https://www.growingup.sg/product-category/gua/ or take part in our giveaway (see below) for a chance to win a set. Huat ah!

We have one set of Ani(MAH)Jong to give away. Here’s how to take part:
