Spring into CNY 2022 with Rawr-some Activities for the Whole Family
The first day of CNY 2022 falls on the first day of February this year. But as always, the activities and excitement have already begun. Usher in a Roaring New Year in Chinatown
There may not be the CNY bazaar of yesteryear, but Chinatown is still abuzz at this time of year. After the Official Street Light-up and Opening Ceremony on 7 January, which will be streamed live online, the tiger-themed lanterns will be on display till 2 March. Other highlights include the Chinatown Wishing Tree and WWF and Temenggong Tigers display. More digital content from Chinatown Festivals’ Facebook range from culinary and handicraft video tutorials to getai concerts.

Collect Museum Roundtable Lunar New Year Hongbaos
It’s time for the annual museum-hopping, hongbao-collecting campaign again! This year, visitors can collect a set of unique red packet designs each at 35 participating museums and heritage institutions. From 22 January, you can also purchase limited-edition collector’s albums at the Sun Yat Sen Nanyang Memorial Hall. Each album contains two full sets of the 35 Museum Roundtable red packet designs, but with a different background colour. You can also stand a chance to win the collector’s album set via the I Love Museums Facebook page!

Dip into Dahlia Dreams at Gardens by the Bay
Experience the dawn of Spring at Gardens by the Bay, as the popular ‘Dahlia Dreams’ returns to the Flower Dome. For the first time, a stunning River Hongbao lantern, Spring Fragrances, takes centrestage in the flower field. It features Chinese moon gates, rabbits, and larger-than-life narcissus blooms amid some 2,000 brilliant dahlias, azaleas, chrysanthemums, and cymbidiums. Adorable tiger cubs join in to usher in their special zodiac year too. On 15 January, take part in the ‘Chun’ CNY Hanging Deco Workshop by The Floral Petal.

Learn about Lunar New Year Celebrations with the Asian Civilisations Museum
Usher in the Year of the Tiger with an array of programmes and activities at the Asian Civilisations Museum. Learn more about celebrations associated with the Lunar New Year through online videos and onsite programmes. These include guided tours, craft activities, and more. Dance with Lions at the National Museum of Singapore
The National Museum of Singapore ushers in CNY 2022 with a lion dance performance, and you’re invited! Learn more about the significance of the lion dance in a special presentation with a hands-on activity. Create festive mementos of coasters with Chinese knots or ceramic art of festive goodies and flowers. Find special artefacts and stand to receive a special souvenir too. A group of talented youths will also be on hand to present festive songs.

Immerse in Chinese Culture at Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts 2022
Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay invites everyone to explore ways to cope with the pandemic through the arts at its 20th edition of Huayi – Chinese Festival of Arts. It will feature an exciting line-up of theatre, dance, and music both offline and online. In particular, don’t miss ‘Karung Guni Boy’, an original production for children, that teaches us to look out for others around us, and ‘The Universe According to Niu’, a digital screening of the puppetry production for kids.
