Avengers Assemble! All You Need to Know About Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes at the ArtScience Museum
Love all the superheroes from the Marvel Comic Universe? Here’s what you need to know about the new Marvel Studios exhibition at the ArtScience Museum.
Do you remember watching the first-ever Iron Man movie in the cinema? Us too! In a blink of an eye, it’s been 10 years since the Marvel Comic Universe burst into our consciousness. And it’s had an astounding impact on our culture.

Over the past decade, we’ve seen 19 Marvel movies grace the big screens. Of those 19 films, 18 debuted at number 1 at the box office. Through these epic tales of good and evil, we’ve grown to love superheroes such as Iron Man, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, and Black Panther.
So buckle up, and get ready to experience 10 years (and 19 films) of the Marvel Comic Universe at the Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes exhibition! Here are the highlights:
Iron Man

Upon entering the Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes exhibition, you’ll be greeted with a live display of all 19 movie posters since the release of the first Iron Man movie. Be sure to pay attention to the posters – some of them are short “live” videos!
The second gallery shines a spotlight on the beloved Iron Man, a key character in this year’s Avengers: Infinity War. Enter Stark Tower and immerse yourself in Tony Stark’s workshop! You’ll be able to witness the evolution of Iron Man’s different armours via projection mapping too.
The best part of this gallery? A five-metre-tall model of Iron Man! This towering model couldn’t be more superhero-like. Be sure to queue up and snap a picture for the ‘gram!
Captain America
Next, you’ll enter the gallery of the first ever Avenger – Captain America. Enjoy the projection of his shields over the decades via an impressive 3D hologram. If you’re with the kids, there are also helpful information plaques throughout the exhibition with interesting tidbits on how the arts and sciences relate to the movies. They’ll definitely be excited to learn something new via their favourite superheroes!
Then, taking a scene from The Avengers, you’ll be treated to a model of the S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier. The Helicarrier will “transport” you to the fourth gallery of Thor’s world via the Bifrost.

Thor

Do you deem yourself worthy enough? Upon entering Sakaar’s magnificent gladiator arena, take on the challenge of lifting Thor’s hammer! The majestic superhero’s hammer gets its very own section, with lighting effects that certainly mimic its power in the movies.
Following that, be sure to grab a family member and re-create one of the most iconic Marvel fight scenes between Thor and Hulk!
Groot & Doctor Strange
The battle ends as you head to the fifth gallery and enter Yondu’s ship. Try to avoid Yondu’s flying arrow while interacting and dancing with baby Groot via digital screens!
Once you’re worn out from the dancing, enjoy the mystical environment of the sixth gallery, dedicated to the mysterious Doctor Strange. There, you’ll be transported to the New York Sanctum Sanctorum as seen in the film, with interactive displays allowing you to create portals over to MBS.

Black Panther
Soak in the atmosphere of Black Panther – Marvel’s latest hit – as you enter the futurist utopia of Wakanda. Watch out for your head, as there’s a huge panther model on the ceiling! Along the way, you’ll also come across a model of Black Panther that’s perfect for pictures.
Thanos & Marvel AR
In the ninth gallery, try your hand at activating Thanos’ infinity gauntlet. Learn about each of the Infinity Stones, and how to activate them, in an interactive display. Be sure to snap a quick photograph with the model of Thanos’ for extra “cool” points, too!
Last but not least, the exhibition culminates with the tenth gallery, where you can “step” on the icon of your favourite superhero and see them appear on screen with the use of Augmented Reality (AR). Be sure to film this experience – it’s definitely one for the memories!
Upon exiting the exhibition, you’ll also be able to purchase your favourite Marvel merchandise at the store. Marvel Studios: Ten Years of Heroes will run at the ArtScience Museum from 9 June till 30 September 2018.
