IVF/ICSI Support Group


Mrs tann and jumbo girl, I retrieved 38 eggs during ER and 35 fertilised. But only 10 made it to day 5. Didn't do a fresh as I suffered from severe ohss after the ER. Did my first fet last mth and failed. But I only transferred 1 embroyo cos of my small stature Dr afraid I'll get twins. So this round he will consider putting 2. I'm considered young below 30 and it's concerning that even with ivf also fail at my age. My hub and I lead a very healthy lifestyle. We eat very healthily and exercises regularly at least 2-3 times a wk.
This cycle I'm doing accupunture with dr zou and taking her meds regularly. Also stopped any cold drinks completely. I'm just concerned cos if egg quality bad means whatever I collected all no good and I need a fresh cycle to collect a fresh round of eggs? From what we know so far is only the male factor problem. So suddenly after the failed fet I was told cld be due to poor quality eggs I donno what else can i do to improve the situation.

Just did my ET this morning at KKH..had two grade 4 and grade 3 embryos transferred..anxiously waiting for 7th oct for BT now...anyone know what r the odds of succeeding???
 
Btw would like to ask if any of u are on low dose of aspirin and prednisolone to help improve implantation? My Dr is putting me on these 2 meds to improve implantation but I'm allergic to aspirin. So im wondering how effective it is to increase the success rate.

I feel exactly the same way!! I already watched all the movies on Funshion.. now nothing to watch already. :/

I thought PCO people got better quality eggs man.. cuz AMH so high what! Yup, 9 blastocyst is a lot.. I don't even have choice to go to blastocyst man. I had 16 follicles, retrieve 14 mature eggs, doc just say go straight to 2day transfer, don't even dare wait until 5 days alr cuz scared left wif nothing.

As for Asprin, I did read on some forums in USA that it does improve chances for some people, but if allergic better not, can have severe consequences.

Hazelnut, able to have 9 blasto shows your quality is not bad. IVF is all about chances and sometimes the best embryo may not necessary be the one. You should insist on putting 2 for your FET because 2 have a higher chances. There are no explanation on why embryo cannot implant, it can be womb environment, it can be embryo didn't hatch out or it could be just luck. I have read many success stories on PCOS patients. baby aspirin is to improve blood circulation. you can achieve that with acupuncture as well. If you are allergy better don't take.
 
Anyone recently used Saizen? Lining not up to mark this round after 2 tried and Doc suggested we try. Wanted to know if any side effects felt.

You have 10 day 5 blast embryos. That is very very good. I had 23 retrieved and only 8 fertilized. 3 made it to day 5. I transferred 2 d5 embryos during the fresh cycle. I'm lucky in that one embryo made it to full term and my boy is now 18 months. I wouldn't worry about the quality of your eggs given that you have 10 d5 embryos to work with.

They say the success rate of each D5 embryo resulting in pregnancy is 40%. So to have higher chance of a pregnancy, I would transfer 2 embryos. But you must be comfortable having twins if both implanted.

I drank one bottle a couple of days ago. It was my last one and the only one I drank this cycle, lol. Shld be ok lah.

Santhiya, other than chicken essence, brazil nuts, durians were also said to help in implantation. Just drink lots of water to ease the heatiness a bit.

Ladies, does anyone knows when is the 1st scan for short protocol, before starting the stim jabs?
 
hi everyone i'm going for ivf counselling soon..any advise what to prepare in advance in order to get our body ready for ivf? is majority of pple on short protocol nowadays? my gynae said if i go for ivf, 2 weeks injection only. i hope she not bluffing me! i'm scared of jabs actually.
 
Hi kool123, personally, I go for acupuncture every month. I've been doing that since last year. Hopefully it would help to balance our body and prepare the womb. Mine is also short protocol and it's only 2 weeks.
 
thanks cheeka! i have been seeing tcm for past few mths as i try for bb....I did inform the sinseh that western doc ask me go for ivf but sinseh say maybe try naturall for few mths. Then go IVF if still dun haf...but she did not suggest acupuncture to me. Did you take any vitamins etc?
 
Hi ladies :) tis my 1st time doin ivf n found tis forum..very interesting..I went for for my ivf counselling 2wks ago at kkh. I have irregular mensus always n was given medicine to hve my mensus..it was a 7day dosage day n nite..I am under Dr Tan H.H..so now waitin 4 mensus to come to call kkh 4 the 1st scan...I am so nervous as its 6days since I finishd tat medicine n no mensus til now :( dygestrone was name of med...any1 took that b4 ivf??
 
Hi Ladies, can I check is it true that the percentage of success for IVF will drop at the 3rd fresh cycle? thats y gov only give us 3 tries?
 
hi Anita, can share whats the process like for kkh? how long did u wait for the ivf counselling? did they say how much is the estimated cost?
i'm also first time doing....but then still waiting for the counselling session.

Oh, there's a limit of 3 tries only?
 
Kool123,sorry it's should b 3 tries for fresh & 3 for frozen that gov will subsidies aftr tt u cn still try at your own cost.

KKH v crowded waiting time is v long, got to wait for scan thn after that wait for review, thn take med thn cm back wait for injections.
 
kool123, i was first there thru govt subsidy as i went there with polyclinic referal. So i made use subsidy rate and did all scans and bloodtests. Then after 3 visits with normal medical officers i decided i wanted a specialist doctor to handle me if i am going to do the ivf..instead of different docs each day from their group during ivf. So I called appt line and said i wanted Dr Tan HH to handle my ivf. just one visit to him and already i was referrd to ivf centre and got a slot to start my cycle. but i am still waiting for my mensus to come to go for the scan and injections that will be administrated to me. Love.bb my fren went with me same day and she got her mensus last week and already doing her stimulatin injections already..they act fast if you are under a specialist i guess and look into your age too.Call kkhivf centre and ask when is next slot availble to start cycle. but you must have finished basic scans that show no problem with ur tubes etc..
 
Hey, does anyone feel super HOT on the progesterone suppositories? My body is ridiculously hot, like having a mild fever. Used to wear socks around the house now I can't even put them on. Feeling very uncomfortable ATM, and very depressed too.
 
I don't think so. It's like extra hot. Went up like fever hot.. Anyway my temp dropped this morning, I chart and it's quite accurate, once drop usually AF reports a day later. I guess I failed my first fresh cycle! My bt is next Monday but I don't think I'll show when AF comes.

Hi Pinkbunny...

My BT also 30th....did u try using any HPT? I tried on day 11, 12 and 13 and there's a faint positive line on all tests.... not sure if it's due to cyclogest?

Hi hi...

I drink chicken essence every alternate day since ET....i mixed it in homemade chicken soup cos i am afraid of the smell. I think it helps to keep one from being too fatigue too.

Congrats. Only hcg support jab will affect the result. Yours is definitely BFP. Your nick seem familiar? Is this your first cycle?

Yes u can order from iherb. choose the normal kind of dhea 25mg.
most of the girls here take 50 mg. meaning 25mg day n 25mg night.

I heard implantation can cause bbt to drop. If it goes up its good news.

Hihi all.. am new here..
have been a silent reader since a few months ago.. this is my first fresh cycle n I'm currently in the 2ww 5dp3dt
had cramps first 2-3 days after ET but now no symptoms..v worried that implantation's nt happening.. BT is on 4th oct n it feels like ages.. really hoping for the best now
 
Hi everyone..thanks for all the advise on chicken essence..today is my 3dp2dt..dunno why but having mild cramps and giddy spells..slight bloated too..is it normal??

Really? I am just worried it might be a false hope for me.......
This is not my first cycle....I had 2 failed IUI, 1 failed Fresh last nov (Miscarriage) ...so this is my first FET.
I worried cyclogest might have some hcg in it.....that's why i am uncertain............
But your words are encouraging for me..thanks alot ya....
