IUI/SO-IUI: Anyone?

Hi..

I'm with kkivf... I did hsg at kkh and the left tube suspected blocked. DH's semen analysis was okay .. due to my long cycle doc advised to go for chomid from 3 to 6 months then iui ...

They do have SOP
1. Check pelvis
2. Check semen
3. HSG
4. Clomid
5. IUI
6. IVF

I think I asked before whether we can proceed to IVF without IUI .. But they said can't .. must try at least 1 iui ..
You may ask ur gynae or hospital

Thanks PimPim. So far the first 3 checked & all normal. Left blood test next week i guess. I wonder after the blood test, how long to wait b4 I can try IUI

Hi.
Provided the doc allow you to proceed with IUI without clomid.

For kkh both husband and wife need to do a blood test before iui. The blood test is for hepatitis.

Then you are ready for iui.
You need to call the hospital the first day of AF.

CLEARBLUE

I bought my clearblue digital ovulation kit from Watson (there was 20%), original price $65.35 - 20% = $52.28 for 7 kits.
There is a qoo10 seller selling $45.90 for 7 kits and $69.80 for 20 kits.
http://list.qoo10.sg/item/BEST-REVIEW-CLEARBLUE-EASY-DIGITAL/410250195

Why i didn't buy from qoo10 : because i last min decided to use clearblue instead of david ovulation and unable to meet with the seller on sun to collect, that's why i bought from watson.

I brought the kits with me on my day 14 scan instead of using theirs. i think they are charging $16.05 each.

Hi metamorphosis8184

Please refer to the above post for my iui procedure...

Hi all

Completed my iui procedure today.

DH passed his semen around 8.15am and the nurse told to go back between 10.30am to 11.00am.

I reached KKH around 9.45am and took beak fast at kopitiam.

Proceed to KKH IVF, press no 2 and my q no was 2018.

Waited around 30 mins for the nurse to reconfirm that DH passed the semen and my bladder is full.

Proceeded to the waiting area at the semen bank. Am the only couple there. So just waited less than 5 minutes before proceed to the room.

Waited around 10 mins in the procedure room for the doc.

The whole procedure took less than 2 minutes.

I rested around 15 mins after the procedure.

The whole cost - $463.84.

Hi metamorphosis8184

The info on the iui day itself.

Hi jean saw,

What I mean is never give up is the most important attitude.

Oh, still need to do BT even if AF reported? Which hospital are you with? If with KKIVF, as long as AF reported, no need to do blood test, if I remembered correctly.
Hi,
I am with Dr SF Loh at his O&G Specialist Clinic, TMC. The BT is scheduled and paid so will just go, since seeing Dr afterwards.

Hi Jean, I ttc 7mths, coming to 8 & counting.

Hi metamorphosis8184,

I see. Normally if you are only in the early 30s, Dr will advise you to try naturally for 1 year first; then if not successful, to go for iui then still not successful then go for ivf.

However, since your husband is over 40 already, your gynae may suggest differently, so you better check with him.

@littlebaby_melissa sgh care will be undergoing reno frm feb to june 2016 so they won't be open at all.
I have been TTC for almost 3 years, terribly long process for me & my DH. I was referred to Dr Yu Su Ling by my TCM doc.
1st appt with Dr Yu is during Mar '15.
Finally done my 1st IUI @ Sgh care on 5 Oct '15 after all the tests (vaginal swap, 2nd day cycle ultra sound, TCS, blood test for DH & myself), 2 cycle of Clomid and months long of ultra sound to monitor my ovulation.
My normal cycle is between 28-30 days, so when my AF was delayed by a week, I thought I may have strike the jackpot. But it's a failed procedure, my heart sank when I saw my AF on 29 Oct...decided to take a 2 mths break due to irregular AF (came twice in Nov & Dec due to stress & 'cold' womb).

@graceakaclouds. I'm glad that you have posted here that sgh care will be close for reno fr feb-June '16. But I'm also lost now, because I intend to start my BOM this mth for my 2nd IUI. I may have to shelve it after their reno. What's your intention? Change clinic or wait after their reno?

@p3ili Sorry to hear that you have been thru it for 3 yrs already. It is always never an easy process and arduous for many of us here.

Do not worry about iui as the reno does not affect iui procedures. This has been reassured by Dr Yu. I believe they will do it in O&G clinic instead so you are in safe hands.

Do you mind if I ask you whether you have female or male issues or both?

Frankly, for iui, chances of success is only less than 10% so do not fret if you have not succeeded on your 1st try. Basically, most ppl don't succeed on their 1st either. It is a matter of eggs and tried I believe though. Take the time to build up your follicles as well as your hb's sperms so that they will be of good quality to increase your chances as well.

Oh gd to hear that iui procedures are not affected. Basically I think I'm the 1 with issue. In my early 20s, I have frequent severe cramps and heavy menstrual bleeding with clots on my 1st day of mense cycle. TCM doc say I have poor blood circulation, cold womb and PCOS, causing premature of multiple follicles.
From the pelvic scan @ sgh, it reviewed that I have retroverted uterus with a few 10mm intramural fibroids. But Dr Yu say it's not much of a issue...My DH has mild bilateral varicoceles but normal motile sperm with fair fertility potential.

Hi all, I am planning to start my SO-IUI in June cycle. Hope able to find somebody who going for this plan and encourage each other through this journey.
Anyone currently on IUI/SO-IUI? Great if you can share yr experiences here.
Anyone ttc more than a year, it is male's sperm factor and success through IUI/SO-IUI? Appreciate also if you can share yr ttc journey here.
Sorry may I ask what's IUI/SO-IUI

@p3ili try to avoid drinking cold liquids or food. Also, from time to time eat womb warming foods. Also, sleep with socks and don't wear spag n shorts to sleep cos it can be too chilly. I tik poor blood circulation and cold womb can be quite common for many. You need to slowly tiao your body and eating habits.
