Oh, ok. I think I know where it is now. Thank you. Brought her to 24-hour CCK clinic coz didn't know there's one here. Last time her PD was Dr Keoy at TMC but was too far away. Is the charges cheaper or similar to TMC? Any idea? THanx

my doctor assigned Dr. Ang AT at TMC as my pediatrician...juz wondering does anyone has any experience to share about her?

Yiori: I bring both my children to Angelin's clinic.

SHe's v nice and definitely understands what mothers feel abt their children cos she herself has 5 kids.

Her consultation is $35 but definitely well worth it. She'll actually take her time to explain things to you and will even give extra medication for times when the kid's illness gets worse. And if the medication is unopened and unused you can actually return it to the clinic and get a refund. And if there's anything she will also make time to talk to parents over the phone to give advice on kid's illness.

Yes, Dr Terence Tan from Kinder Clinic is really very nice and patient but the wait is very long. I have to wait about 1 hour plus just to see him though I had an appointment. Not cheap also.

I agree with Mikel that Dr Terence Tan from Kinder Clinic in Mt Alvernia is very good. He is so friendly and so approachable and he is good with babies. He is more like a friend to us parents than a doctor. he doens't stage up the doctor kinda arrogant front. Good

But agree that the queue is long and always have to wait...but good things we can afford to wait right

Hi MerryMum, my girl was also assigned Dr Ang AT. My baby was jaundiced and I checked into the hospital with her to breastfeed her. Dr Ang scolded me for doing that cos she said I keep taking baby off away from the UV light and if I have to breastfeed baby so often (every hour!), it probably means I don't have enough milk. So I checked out the next day and left my baby there to be formula-fed. I thought that as a result, I didn't have sufficient milk for my baby but on the other hand, my baby took a whole month to recover from her jaundice. I guess in those circumstances, it was hard for her to be super pro-breastfeeding?

However, I didn't have good experience with her nurses. They didn't tell me that they accept the FBI discount card and afterwards when my husband asked about it, they said, paid already, cannot have discount. Dr Ang also prescribed Desitin for my baby, which is a baby rash cream, and charged me $17+. I later bought it from KKH pharmacy for about $12.

So I didn't go back to her after my girl was discharged from the hospital for jaundice. I checked her jaundice level at polyclinic and took her to a GP for her immunisation jabs. I saved a lot of money this way.

Thanks eliora for sharing your experience..

I'm also confuse if i should let my baby see her...Maybe i will try her when my baby is delivered and see how...If no good then will change after i discharge...

And, i am also considering Dr Ong Woon Hong from United Square...the clinic seems to be OK and the nurse is very friendly when i walked in to ask questions about the different immunisation jabs.

Hi MerryMum, I have used Dr Ong before, but I may check him out cos he's near my place. I forgot to tell you that I used to go to KKH when they suspect my girl had a heart problem. After the doc cleared my girl, I would go back once in about 2 months to ask questions since per visit is only $20 (subsidised rate). However, I have to book well in advance so when my girl falls sick (actually only once so far), I still bring her to see GP only. She recovered in a day or two, so I haven't had the need to see a specialist. But I thought of getting a contact just in case. Do you know what are Dr Ong's charges?

I think it's ok to have Dr Ang do the normal check up first. It's quite basic stuff so I think any doc can do it.

hi,

i also not sure of Dr. Ong's charges as i haven see him yet, guess should be quite normal (can't remember what the nurse was explaining about immunisation, consultation and cost, but i din get the impression that it is expensive..). I'm considering it cos it's near my MIL place and the clinic looks ok/comfortable.

Hi Angel,

I strongly recommend Dr Ong Woon Hong from Aglow Baby & Child Specialist Clinic at United Square. He is very gentle, patient and most importantly, he gives advices over the phone. My gal seemed to like the way he handles her and she does not have much of a problem taking jabs.

My gynae at TMC had appointed Dr Ong as my gal's PD as I did not have anyone in mind then. So it was pure luck that I met a good one.

If you are driving, United Square would be easier to locate a parking space and its sheltered. For your consideration!

Hi, any good PD to recommend in the North (Yishun/Sembawang/Woodlands/AMK)?

My boy is currently under Dr Ong EK (TMC/AMK), but finds his charges very high and with his recent popularity, he seems to be over-whelmed with patients. So, may be looking for alternatives with strong recommendation and one nearer to home.

Pls advise.

i oni noe PD not bad, my son PD. Dr Terence Tan from Kinder Clinic at Mount Alvernia, i find him veri patient and caring. My son feels comfortable wif him too. Oni thing is tat long q...i got to wait 3hrs to c him.

my 2 gals are with Dr Ek Ong too. We are up in the west but still travel all the way to TMC to see him.

hi my son also under Dr EK Ong fr SBCC at TMC level 5. I would storngly recommend him as he is a v patient dr who will give u all information & he will ans all my qns even thou the q is super long outside.

As my son is a premee & was assigned to DR AAT at TMC level 3 initially, she is HORRIBLE. During the 1mth stay at NICU, she is v direct & harsh with works got post natal blue at a few days becos of her. heard alot of bad things abt her but didnt chg dr as bb in NICU when we went back to her after discharge for the 1st jab. My bb scream his lungs out & was bleeding from the jab wound. I was terrified after that chg to DR EK Ong, never did my son once cry when Dr Onr give him jab.

Hi all

My 2 kids are with EK Ong as well from TMC. He's really nice but the only thing is the queue to see him. Have noticed it is getting longer and longer each time I am there.

He even helped to push me to the ward after I delivered my daughter before settling my daughter into the nursery. He gives me the feeling of sunshine. I'm very happy with him.

Another plus is that he also goes to AMK SBCC on Monday nites so we don't have to take time off work to go to TMC all the time.

Hey ! I am also looking for a good PD in west side. I have been seeing Anne & Baby clinic at jurong east.. Not too bad...Anyboday can share experience? Anybody also visiting Anne?

Hi all,

I used to bring my son to see Dr Terence Tan at Mt.A too... but i stayed at CCk.... very far.. any other good PD recommendation around is good to share? Im considering Anne & Baby clinic at JE or Kidslink at CCK... which is better?

I'll be delivering at TMC. My gynae recommended Dr Ang AT as my baby PD. Looks like I better ask for a change.May I know why we need to find a PD before baby is born? For injection and what else?

I m staying in the west. Considering Kidslink children's clinic - Dr Winston (CCK), Dr Heng (Jurong East), Dr Dorothy Ong (Bt Timah). Any recommendations?

firstbaby
my baby is seeing Dr Dorothy and I like her. Actually I like Dr Ng very much too, but its further for me and his clinic is pretty packed at times, so I use him as a standby! But if you make an appointment, you dun have to wait.

Comparatively I think Dr Dorothy's charges are pretty reasonable. maybe you can see which one is more convenient for you. thumbs up for both PDs

Hi ,
i like to recommend Dr saw from hougang ave 8. The clinic is saw& koh baby clinic i think so. i find the Dr Saw is good. he is very patient

What about in the east coast area, any good PD to recommend? My son has been seeing Ang AT at TMC for the past 2 years. Yes, charges very expensive, till my hubby said change PD to someone nearby (staying along katong & east coast area)

Hi firstbaby,
Where is Dr Dorothy located?

How does the Pediatrician work?
So would i need a pediatrician immediately after i give birth? should i use the hospital one then?? i am giving birth at Gleneagles...thanks.

Hi Keann,

Check with your gynae, usually in the 3rd trimester you'll need to appoint a PD, who will come check on baby at birth. You can use hospital one or a clinic from Gleneagles'.

I strongly recommend Singapore Baby & Child Clinic (SBBC). The PD are all very experienced and specialised in diff area (asthma clinc, heart, epilesy, premature baby). If they can deal with many situations, if needed.

hey keane i delivered ay glene too. my pd is dr yy yip. highly recommended. he was able to diagnose my son's illness when he was sick whereas a pd near my house insisted that i do an xray. my bb was 5 mths old then.

Did you know that every doc @ SBCC see avg of 50-75 little patients every morning-early afternoon?

biggrin.gif
I think I'm one of the oldest patient as I still seek Dr Ngiam's advice whenever I bring my boy down. I had been seeing him since my primary school for chronic asthma.

Hi Constellation,

depending on case & medicine issue. Consultation is $60-80 range (I think it defers with DR & whether 1st time or 2nd time). The medicine issue is same price as from pharmacy.

Also, usually the DR will do their hospital rounds 1st before coming into the clinic. So if there are some little ones that requires more attention, then likely you gotto wait quite a while b4 you see the doc.

recently my gal fell sick, and as her normal pd was on leave for the week, i brought her to SBCC at AMK. a fren recommended that the docs there pretty ok.

but when we were there, i got a little puzzled why are there so many 'nurses/receptionists' (dunno proper term to use) needed. there was like 8 i think, and so happen that day only 1 doctor. seemed abit choatic.

maybe it's bcos many mouth to feed, so the charge are quite ex. somemore, some of the meds given are those they mixed themselves. from my own pd, i always get the so-called original bottles, and he is not more ex than SBCC. i was surprised.

anyway, jus to share my 2 cents worth.
