I actually visited St Hilda's but i didn't like the fact that there is no proper classroom for the K1 & K2 ... just mere partition to separate the classes and the ceiling also not v high..
So on the day i visited, i felt pretty "clammed up" and stuffy - the exact feeling & description 2005(first mum) had for Tung Ling.
The nursery group is in another building which looks newer than the premises for K1 & K2... however the assembly area which they also double up as music & movement area is only slightly bigger than a classroom size .. and i must say their classroom size is already pretty small.
All in all, I felt it was ...hmm...a little overrated perhaps?
I then went over to Bethesda Katong Kindergarten to hv a look (which in my own opinion is a little "lesser known" than St Hilda's but highly recommended to me by many mummies in this forum; hence i thought why not hv a look)
Boy, I must say i was sold. I like the fact that they have proper classrooms which are of decent size, a very big assembly hall (just like a normal school hall), equally huge music room and i heard the teacher playing the piano really well and singing w the children... equally spacious computer rooms... and the kids seem really happy and teachers are really dedicated...
The person who really touched me was the Principal - can tell she is very dedicated. So far i visited 3 times, she is never in her office ... always walking around, checking this , checking that, speaking to the pupils, speaking to the teachers, addressing all issues..even telling the bus driver to take care of a child (who had just undergone an operation) ... very very "hands-on" Principal i must say ...
needless to say, i've since signed my boy up for next year nursery and i'm glad i'm one of the last (if not the last) who managed to squeeze into next year's AM session (heard they are full for AM liao)
Mummies in the East looking for pre-school - i think it is worth taking a look at this one...
caution: think they are left w PM slots
