Hi mummy i want ask some advice any mummy switch from gyane to sub rate currently im with private due to financial issue im thinking of switching to kkh sub im currently 26 weeks

Don't think so ba.... I trimmed my hair the other day summore... Most mum cut hair short before delivering so that confinement won't be so uncomfortable as well so I doubt so...

Hi, any experience lower part below the baby position pain? I felt pain for few days like muscle ache. It happen after I run a little bit and pushing sofa.. Do I need to panic?

Not so much a taboo, but I felt queasy after inhaling the chemical fumes at the salon for over an hour. My bad though, I went on a busy weekend.

Can I ask if loud noise will affect my bb? I was at Taka today and there was lion dance competition. The drumming was very loud. I hang around for like 1-2 mins and I decided it was too loud and worried it will affect my bb.

It won't affect the bb but they will get startled by the loud sound. I was using the hand held vacuum 2 weeks ago and when I on it I can feel my gal squirming inside lol

I have been having tight chest feeling since yesterday and last for a few minutes each time. I had to breathe harder to relief to uncomfortable feeling. Anyone having same problem? Not sure if it is the haze?

I have been packing my room a lot and sometimes after packing will really feel discomfort around the bay position and lower. Recently I was out shopping and suddenly I have extreme low back pain, like very pain kind and after a while my belly starts to hurt a lot at the sides. Wondering if that was Braxton hicks coz some ppl tells labour contractions begin with low back pain at first.
I bought a double spectra m9, hoping to use it mainly at work when I return and while I'm on leave, direct latch and use the pump if necessary to relieve the boobs.

Hi mummies, the haze is really bad today. Anyone wearing mask? It's harder to breathe and scared will limit oxygen to bb.
I didn't bring the mask when I went to work, so just walk home without any protection. And the worst is we haven't buy air purifier yet, guess the air con is not strong enough. So worried.......

If possible best to wear a mask. Better than inhaling all the dust. At least wear it when u re out in the open

I'm at 26 weeks now, gynae appointment tmr. Is there any questions I need to ask? Every time dr Phua keep asking if I have any question but I always cannot think of anything to ask him. First baby so dk need to check or ask for anything.

The haze is really bad. It can cause respiratory issue to young children especially baby. PM2.5 is the dust particle which we cannot see with naked eye. I studied science, so after i read some article about haze, it is scary. Air con definitely not help. My home had 3 units of air purifier to protect my family and my children. My son has sinusitis issue, he becomes worse during haze time. So better protect them by keeping them indoor and with air purifier. The air purifier that is very effective and and uses high grade 3M filter which can filter down to 0.01um. My son has no sinusitis problem even during haze time.

Understand there will be a baby fair in Oct also. Maybe will be cheaper? I am still thinking if I should wait till bb fair or start buy bb stuff now.

i think if u chance upon things that's cheap and usable can buy first. Baby fair might not necessary be cheaper. Sometimes sales at Robinsons and such could be even cheaper.

if you intend to use almost immediately after birth, you might want to buy now. after baby is born unless you have help on hand, you have no time or luxury to slowly source or shop around

I will be using medela pump in style advanced - (medela PISA). will need to bring the pump for checking at the service center because it has been quite some time since i last used it
I used Ameda initially for #1 but switched to Medela PISA after lactation consultation at Thomson Medical. Tried the pump there before buying it from TMC. it was much better.
if you are giving birth at TMC, you can rent the breast pump from them to use at the hospital before buying. TMC is using Medela. I havent tried spectra but I feel Medela PISA is good. get a dual pump. more efficient use of time. halves the pumping time.

bought my stuffs all from Robinsons and OG. Cot was bought was OG during sales. It was cheaper than buying from baby fair.

my girl's playpen also from OG !!!! Bought a Graco (as suggested by my fren) and the only things i got from the Aug bb fair is a pram and baby carrier. The carrier is indeed cheaper than outside (did my check after buying) but pram wise just slightly cheaper. Could have gotten a better deal outside.
Cause Robinsons sometimes have 20%+ 20% for members. If not can always go OG. I feel that their sales is also good

Yea graco is good ! mine is the graco pack n play. i find it sturdy and wouldnt topple. bought it online last time from an online shop. forgot how much but was cheaper and included free delivery.
When bb is bigger, you can consider buying the parklon mat for tummy time and crawling time.
last time i bought my parklon mat online from http://www.smallsmallworld.com/estore/bumper-playmat-c-204_50.html
can use the parklon mat with the haenim play yard. bought my haenim play yard from another online shop too. you can source around and compare prices.
usually the parklon mat can be seen at bb fairs. can go the bb fair to view at the different designs or sizes/thickness
its a super good buy i feel, can use for a long time till even when bb bigger can use as a mat for play time. worth buying

bb will be sleeping inside the cot. The cot height is adjustable with a side drop rail and I dont have to bend too far in like a playpen to put bb down. wouldnt hurt the back and not so easy to wake up a sleeping baby while trying to put bb down
my graco playpen has the bassinet, however it has weight limits so cant use the top layer for very long. after weight limits is exceeded, too taxing to bend all the way to put a sleeping baby down in the bottom layer. Based on previous experience for #1, my #1 last time almost always wakes up when I do that. imagine wasting so much time trying to rock bb to sleep.. last time I want to do is to wake up the bb while trying to put bb down

We felt it would be good to get a car seat first, because one month pp have to bring to take Hep B vaccine plus CNY falls in early Feb, so definitely have to take the car out. Stroller we decided to wait, hopefully its the right call

I doubt we will go roam around public places for long duration during the first few months. Go PD or go people's house don't really need stroller. My mummy friends suggested to get stroller later if don't need it immediately, can save a bit by choosing those with doesn't come with newborn features. By around 4-5 months they won't need those features. But if you find a good deal for a full travel system, should go for it!

Can I ask if it's okie to do small renovation to the bb room? I know that it is not advisable by the chinese belief that no renovation works should be done during pregnant stage. But will it be Okie if I am not at home while the renovation is on going? E.g. I moved back to parents place while the works is being carried out till the end? Anyone heard of such things?

So better to be safe than sorry, perhaps you can move to your parents' place for a while ? This is totally up to you , whether u believe or not . To me, when it comes to my bb, i'd rather be safe than sorry

Thanks. I read online that if really reno is required, then I should not be at home when that happens. So I will move back to my parent's place while the reno is done and will move back after everything is completed.

May I check if anyone here has gestational diabetic?
I'm at my 29th week today and Gynae diagnosed that I'm slight diabetic. Scale of 8.6 against normal scale of 7.6
I'm referred to a specialist at Mt. A for my diet advise. My baby weight 1.6kg as of today and Gynae say it is too big. Normally should weight about 1.1kg.
Anyone facing the same problem, kindly share your experience.

Hi, my baby weight is the same as yours, though I'm not diagnosed with G.E. Doc did say tt my boy is too big for 29 weeks, and to control food intake.. if not, will have higher chance of c-sec.. so I guess we just have to control our diets. Jiayou rachel mummy!
