Hi Everyone.

I am new here.

Whats the gender of your twins?

Any chance of getting a boy/girl for identical twins?

I read that is a absolute no no...

Mine are identical boys . My last check up at 32 weeks the weight was around 2.2 each. I will know for sure what the babies weight are after delivery tomorrow.

I only know the gender at 19 weeks after my amino results are now .

So I suppose is same gender for identical twins.

Did your do blood test or D/S for your twins?

I only did a NT scan and gyane says is meaningless to do a blood test since is twins.

I'm 23 wks today & my feet are swelling up already.

My doc started my on pre-term meds to delay early birth. Hope i can last till 37wks.

Usually identicals are same sexed.

Mine is 1boy 1girl = )

I got to know the gender during the detailed scan at 20 wks...they are still monitoring my contractions now and they seem to be getting worse, but of course,i cant get a wink of slp here at the hosp and am feeling so stressed with all the meds n drips..plus the belt that they put arnd my tummy is so uncomfortable!! Am now contemplating to juz ask them to stop monitoring n trying to stop the contractions n juz let me go hme where i can rest better...wat do u guys think?

MTB - haven't seen my doc yet nxt med Appt is in Jan 2011. Will wait till then bah.

Iqaera - u might want to discuss with yr doc whether u can go home cos I understand the doc will let u go hm if certain dosage of oral meds can stop the contractions if not u have to continue on drips which means staying in hospt

Best to stay since all the emergency care is a call away. Don't give up!!

Funny thing is my cervix is still closed...its juz the contractions tats preventing them frm sending me back..gosh i truly feel its the hosp environ tats stressing me out n causing my contractions to build up even more...cant rest or even slp, no appetite to eat n low morale...sometimes i juz wish i can let nature take its course n come by hosp only when the actual time to give birth comes...

Good news!!! My contractions have stopped today and i can be discharged!!! Actually stress really plays a part,i had a long reassuring talk with my family yest n felt so much better, this mrng they did the tracings n found no contractions! 1 thing i learnt guys when pregnant with twins muz always put urself n babies as priorities and elimimate all other stress n worries...its a lesson learnt!

Good morning.

Iqaera - Hope you have a gd rest at home! [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Congrats to all twins MTBs here.

Hi gers - Am currently coming to 25wks ... anyone care to share on bb movements ?

Must we track ? If yes how to know which twin is the one kicking ?

Currently my 1 twin is more active then the other based on the right side of my belly feeling more movements

Hi JJ,

it's quite difficult to track which baby is moving & depending on baby's position in ur tummy u may feel some movements and not feel others. I felt movement more on 1 side too. But if ur instincts tell u something is not right no harm to go get an u/s done [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

hi mummies, i'm not preggy, my kid just turned 2 but i just watched this video montage of twins/triplets natural birth.. so amazing that i had to share it with you as i understand that many have concerns about labour, i certainly did, and it wasn't even a multiple birth that we're talking about...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7E-wULAaD50

try to watch it till the end... it was the words that really touched me... hope this helps you, all the best for your pregnancy

Hi lenny,u gave birth to ur twins at how many weeks and thru c-sect? I'm now at 31 wks..[IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Lenny,

i'm also a mummy of boy-girl twins! but they're 3 months old. who is the older twin?

Iqaera,

I went for my c-section at 37 weeks.

Yup am trying my best cnicole..still working though..btw hope both u n babies are fine!! Share ur c-sect experience at kkh le... Ur gynae did for u?

I carry them until 37 weeks then my gynae advise me to go for c section unless i decided to go for natural dely then i can continue to wait if not no point.

They are 4 mth plus old now =) My boy had master the flipping skill while my gal is still learning =)

Hi twin mummies

I'm having boy-girl too!

Right now girl is measuring in smaller then the boy at least 20% difference. Hope girl girl will catch up.

Past graduates, are yr boy-girl twins like that too? Big difference in weight & length?

my twins have usually been about 200-300gm apart when I was preggie. On delivery at 37 weeks, boy was 2.6, girl was 2.3kg. Even till now at 3 months old they are still within 500gm different in weight.

my boy managed to flip himself back from the tummy down position. i wonder if it's because boys tend to be faster at physical development?

During birth, my boy was 2.3 and my girl is 2.2kg. Now my boy is abt 7.3 kg and my girl is abt 6.05 kg.

Whenever we bring then out, people will thought that my boy is the elder one because of his size keke...

My girl is still "soft".. girl seems to be slower ah.

This is my first pregnancy and bleeding since 8 weeks onward and need to complete bedrest [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

Sunshine,

rest well! I had some spotting at 4 weeks, shortly after I tested positive from missing my period. But with adequate rest I was alright in the 2nd trimester and went on to deliver my babies at full term. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Recall seeing in the WTB thread that someone is looking for the contented little twins book. I have one to let go, pls pm me if interested.

Sunshine, care to share a little how they came to conclude you need complete bed rest? Cos I am bleeing from week 8 too but was just given mc for the week. Your bed rest is for how long?

heloow ladies..need ur help...well i wld be due in apr or may this yr with twin girls...im intending to get a maid which im totally against but was advised by others as its gg to be taxing..anyone got gd agency to recommend which can get a experienced maid who has handled twins before?

would appreciate ur input ya..

Hi Pinky, I am still having headache in afternoon. No choice has to quit my job and stay at home... so bored. Hubby not allow me to go out, dr advice not to go long shopping, swimming, and light execise. My body is running out of shape [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/sad.gif]

Hi Nip, I had bleeding on 24 Dec and hospitalized at Mount E for 3 days. After discharged, Dr advice bed rest like only go for toilet, shower not more than 10 min, stand not more than 10min and eat when you lay down if possible. Complete bed rest for 1 week+ and after i allow to sit and eat but not more than 15 min, because my bleeding is non-stop. Once i get up from bed, it will bleed.. My case may different because i bleed with fresh blood not brownish. That's why Dr is worry about "miscarriage". But i am currently 16 weeks now. Going for scan this thursday... hopefully babies are fine.. Because everyday, i worry they dont have hearthbeat.

May i know how many weeks for you now?

Sunshine,

Big hug to u! all these restrictions is to make sure your precious little ones are safe & growing well! all this effort will be worth it. You can visit forums and look for some simple crafts & hobbies to occupy urself while on bedrest. [IMG=http://www.singaporemotherhood.com/forumboard/clipart/happy.gif]

Hi gers, I'm currently 28wks 6days coming to 29wks where I often see twin mummies start to have early pre-term labour signs.

Starting my work from home then will apply for HL so that I can bed rest.

Twins are getting heavier everyday. Stretchmarks are all over & I sort of give up wishing lesser of it.

BB rooms more or less tidied up & bb clothes washing will commence abt mid march.

Also now in the midst of packing my hospital bag... It feels like so far yet so near ... nervous .. not for the op/ birth but whether i can take care of both when they come out ....

hello,

Just wanna give some encourgaement to twin preg mummies to be, I have been there and my preg was also a roller coaster ride. hang in there, stay positive, your bundles of joy will really keep u very busy and u may feel overwhemed and depressed for a start, just accept whatever help u hv, to stay sane, the first few mths is nt going to be easy, but time flies, now my twins r oredi 2 yr plus! They r such a joy, seeing them interact and play together, the type of bond that they have....no one will experience what you are and will be experiencing, so enjoy!

Hey sunshine, I am only 10 weeks along. I had a scary episode 2 weeks ago where I suddenly bled red...went to 24 hr clinic, bleeding stopped. But still have on/off brownish bleeding. My doc dun seems to worry, just tell me that it is normal.

But do rest well and 'enjoy' the peace and quiet while you can.

Hi Nip, take it easy although my gynae said is "threated miscarriage" as long you get enough rest. My hubby takes care of me everthough he has work. He does all the laundry, cooking and everynite i get out, he will awake to make sure i have no bleeding ( because my fresh bleeding always during midnite when i got up to toilet). So you are working or housewife? this is your first pregnancy?

Thanks JJ, may i know which gynae and which hospital you will deliver? I am seeing Dr Kelly and hospital in MtE. She is very nice person, caring as i've admitted in hospital 2 times during midnite ( 3am) and she cames and see me! Maybe i am having twin, she advices me not to do that do this.. but i am bored because i have quit my job and stay at home all the time...

So JJ, have you ever go for swim or do some light execise when you were 16 weeks?

Sunshine - I'm with Dr Loh @ KKH.

I also ever have episodes of light brown to dark brown spotting around 6weeks.

Since then don't have. Yup I went swimming during tri 2, once only ... Love the feeling of total weightless-ness.

But since yr bleeding is quite serious u better not go swimming or get the go ahead from yr gynea before going.

Exercise ? i thot walking around with such a heavy load is exercise already. Those carrying twins is different from singletons, the only thing u should be concerned abt is keeping the twins inside for as long as possible. if that means cutting down exercise i would do that
