I bought the jumperoo at Isetan Katong and it costs me $193+ coz i got the Isetan card. I think the sale for baby stuff is at 2 Isetan outlets, the one at Shaw while the other one at Parkway.

Anyway, i just hope that the jumperoo can last till my future 2nd child.

Anyway, my hubby & i did a stupid thing. Claire was out the whole day and just before Claire's bed time, we let her play in the jumperoo... Guess what, she was overstimulated and she cried & fussed till, i managed to calm her to sleep just now.....

Claire hates having the float around her neck. When the float is removed, she can in fact kick even better and she can actually float. Really amazed!
 
Hi mummies!

Took Joseph to the Dr last FRiday. Dr says he's chubby but not too fat yet. He's 8.1kg at 4 mths old.

I'm keen in The Gym. Can I ask what are the activities like? Do you have their phone number or website? I've seen on TV this excercise class where mummies and babies go togehter. Not sure what it is called. The mummy and baby does the excercise together. Is that The Gym?

RE : Baby sleeping thru the night
Joseph use to wake up at 4am for a feed everynight, no matter how much I fed him. Realized he was just used to it and wasn't stimulated enough in the day. So I would make him do a lot more in the day, stay awake more, play w him, but not stimulate him too much before bedtime. Then after his last feed, turn off the lights, and when he stirs in the middle of the night, I ignore him until he falls asleep again (unless he's wailing). This worked and he now sleeps thru till 8 am every morning. I tried Gina Ford but found it too hard to follow.

I just updated Joseph's 4 mths old weight above.

Btw, leanrt from Dr yesterday a couple of things. She said not to let baby take solids till 6 mths old. So that they are less likely to develop allergies and asthma too. She also taught me an arbitary way to calcualte how much milk to feed baby. Amt he drinks a day should be his weight in kg x 150ml.

i have no choice cos my bb dun like to drink milk his weight only 5.98kg so my PD ask me to start rice cereal early.

ur bb also a bit small size, how much milk and how many feeds u giv her per day? but dun worry, some bb r born to b small size. my boy was borned 2.66kg and his weigh gain is also very slow, cos he coughed for 2mths and refused to drink his milk. i have to force him to drink it. i can feel how u feel, cos we r in the same shoe, seeing above all the list nov mum's bb weight is so perfect some r even cute and chubby some how will feel worry and sad of our bb. but i always tell myself this is only temp. when he grow up he will catch up his weight. mayb he is like my hubby. my hubby was very skinny and small in size when he is still a child, but now he fat like a pig...ha..

her no of feeds varies all the time. on e avg abt 8times. Maybe she is like her daddy too, so skinny! hehe! Tmr bringing her to another PD to check. Still have a lotta phelgm. Poor thing... everyday cry n cry... Till her daddy and mummy also fell sick... hehe!

I feel much comforted after hearing from you. At least i dun feel alone. hehe!

Oh no! My hubby going reservist tmr! Though my mum will be staying with me, I feel sad cos e daddy will know his girl better and help me more too... :'(
 
Hi mommies whose babies are using pacifiers - is it possible to wean baby off from pacifier at 4 months? If so, how to? We have a problem with Natalie. Unlike her brother, Natalie loves her pacifier. She usually sleeps through the night but when her pacifier drops, we got to wake up once or twice to put it back. My husband travels every now & then and I got to wake up at 5 plus to see my son off to school bus every morning. It's sort of driving us crazy having to wake up a few times.
 
Matt turned 4 months yesterday. We gave him a steamed chicken drumstick and he was actually licking it away. Gosh, he's so greedy.

I also finally succeeded at giving him 5 feeds a day. Starts at 7am and last feed 11pm with more milk of 180ML. The other 3 day feeds are at 150ML now. Now he sleeps through. This morning he only woke up at 830am, both my hubby and I were so glad it wasnt 7am since it was the wkend.

my girl was born 15.11.07. So now she just turn 4mths. : )

Like to check how is all your kids poopoo like.

For my girl, at first her poopoo is like banana, but after she has flu and underwent antibobiotics, her poopoo become yellowish and abit watery....

is all ur poopoo like that?

Is cannot be diahorrea as she only poo once a day.

pls share your experience.

Are you breastfeeding? For me, my boy is on total BM...and his poo is almost always yellowish and very watery.

However, seems like your girl is on FM right if her poo has always been like banana(which I think you meant the shape). Anyway better check with PD or with the other mothers here whose babies are on FM.

Yeah, my Dr did mention starting solids early is good for some smaller babies. Don't worry too much about the weight. My hubby was a super-underweight baby becoz he refused to feed. Got his Dr's all worried. But he grew out of it and was very healthy and now very fat.....98kg!!!

my bb also wakes up at night to fidget a lot and it only happens during the night sleep. i wonder why...and pacifier doesn't really help, plus she always gets out of her swaddle..so sometimes i have to hug her hands to her body so she won't wake herself up swiping her face and kicking. it can be as bad as every 1hr. or at least once a night. last resort is to put her on her tummy to sleep. i dun really want to cos she's always turning to her right by default and then her left eye becomes smaller than her right.
i'm trying to use the swaddle cloth frm Kippotamus...hoping she'll sleep more snugly in it.

my Eliza's dropping her late afternoon nap le..so that's left with 3 naps a day and the mid-day one being the longest. which also means that she's sleeping earlier at night at 8pm. (normally she sleeps at 9pm). with is gd cos i hav time on my own & time to spend with hubby at night

Jules, weaning off pacifier at 4mths is kinda hard. Mabbe u try my Mum's mtd, she apparently cut off a portion of the pacifier so that it becomes frustrating to suck for the baby.
 
GIRL, my baby gal on FM only. her normal poo is mushy, creamy. when she has more watery poo , yellow and seedy is usually something doesn't agree with her stomach. it happened to her a few times e.g. after rotavirus vaccine.

but after a few days, it usually normalise ...when her stomach grows "stronger" .... if it doesn't, its a signal to me that i must do something! like recently, i had to change to distilled water for her...cos her watery, yellow poo lasted more than a week ;p

Hi K@ye, so funny... Gotta cut off pacifier ah? Will give it a try. My girl sucks her pacifier very intensively sometimes (like the little sister in Simpsons) . It's cute to see her but drives us crazy when she drops in the night

re: constipation

told PD abt her 4days no poo incident and she said to monitor and give more water. if i still worry, to try friso comfort (chloe's on friso gold). also mentioned chloe's reduced milk intake lately. again PD assured me she's doing well since she's still gaining wt.

i tried adding a scoop of rice powder to her milk over the wkend. she's ok drinking it but have to change to teat 3, otherwise takes ages for her to finish up her 110ml! i guess she's also finding the taste a little different, hence just 'pretend' to suck but the milk level still remain the same! little rascal... hee hee...

i let her suck the juice off a piece of chicken on sat... she seems to like it... then i also let her suck on a chuck of carrot... she's happy with it too! then my hb go and let her taste soy sauce, wah piang, her face straight away looked sour! hahaha...

Prices from $8.90 (price quite similar to some BP although the designs not found on BP). They have sizes too - 6, 9, 12, 24 months.

Jules, yalor... My Mum says my Sis is a hardcore pacifier queen. She has to cut till almost nothing to suck then my Sis willing to splat out the pacifier.

anyone knows where to get nice and cheap bibs other than the carters one selling in the BP? Want to get those tie string at the back and not the velcro type..cos realised that my boy will outgrow the velcro ones (neck gets bigger so can't fasten)..thanks!
