did you test for AMH? I think that is more accurate than FSH. FSH has alot of factors involved, the time you test during which phase and sometimes stress will also cause it to be inbalance. AMH is more consistent, I tested twice.

It's good that u have a progressive doctor marshmallow, who changes treatment for u to seek best results! I read that long protocols give a longer stimulation period and more medications right? Hmm, coz for short protocol, I got BFN for BOTH fresh cycles and my fertilisation rate decreased from 100% success to only 50% success. So my fav Dr is hoping that things might improve if she changed to long protocol for me next time.

Hi dear, yap long protocol I heard will involve more jabs and the process is more xin ku. I hope I don't hv to proceed to that stage as I hv a super low pain threshold.

Dr Veronique is my fav doctor. I m so happy to see her tdy leh. My first fresh cycle ER and ET was done by Dr Jerry Chan. My second fresh cycle ER and ET done was by Dr Jessie Poon.
Are u going for yr fresh cycle too? Is yr designated Dr Matthew Lau or r u a subsidised patient like me? Hehehe

I actually bought the double boiler just for the herbs and i have so many pots at home so will probably just sell it. The thing is she is supposed to take notes in her computer on my first consult but totally forgotten what i told her in the second consult and scolded me for not taking basal temp. (She did not even give me the chart or instructions to do that). Then when i told her i am here to siao for FET, she said oh we dun target for FET or IVF.. my method is to help people improve to conceive naturally *faint*
It does not matter cos I won't be seeing her again

I'm scheduled for my second cycle in july after the failed ivf in march. Doctor informed that she will change 3 things for the next cycle :-
- 1 week prior to mensus - stretching of uterus to help implantation
- change the night injection to help maturing the eggs better
- change the protocol for sperm selection
Anyone has went through the above and can share their experience. Does it really help to increase the success rate?

1 week after my miscarriage. tcm gave me meds to purge out the old blood and tissue. my kkh doc gave me norethisterone to take for 2 weeks, after which when my menses come, it should help to flush out the old tissues. So, yesterday was to go back to check if everything is clear. If clear, then no need to do d&c. thankfully I no need to do. now I'm still seeing tcm, she give me meds to strengthen my body. according to tcm, miscarriage is most likely due to poor blood circulation. according to my kkh doc, my miscarriage is most likely due to abnormal embryo.

For myself my gynae said he is taking a middle approach.. an antagonist protocol. I took Gynera (birth control pills to regulate my cycle) , then my injections took another 13 days before extraction.
I think there is no best option on which protocol to use, as both has its pros, but trust yr gynae in assessing your condition to decide the best protocol for you. Best of luck

Hai... Infertility can really strike anyone regardless of age... Some more all the treatment we receive is not considered medical treatment like treatment for heart attack or cancer etc... Nobody recognizes it as a medical condition....

Hi Marshmallow.. yeah, I'm at my 3rd IVF try.. did a fresh and 1 FET before this and used up all my previous 3 embies.. so have to redo again lor. Going in with trepidation this time.. quite scared of failure again. I'm only transferring in July, so BT will be then

Every day passes like a giant bomb ticking and counting down for me. Today we have confirmed 2 good 5-day blastocysts which will be frozen. Tomorrow more update on the remaining 4. According to embryologist they are still splitting, but their progress is slower than these 2 good ones. Praying very hard for them to survive this last lap! If they're all ok, will freeze them tomorrow... Fingers criss cross like mad now. Oh im transferring in Jul coz i want to tiao my body more, and lose some weight haha. i read in one of the online studies that IVF implantation chances are significantly higher for patients who lost weight in the process of the study. Actually a lot of readings and school of thoughts online.. just try my best to follow and put in my best, and hope for the best. very sorry to hear that
. I was on antagonistic, which is a in between of long and short protocol. But this round after monitoring, my gynae decided to increase injection of 2 new drugs, Saizen and Pergoveris, besides Gonal F and Centrotide. I'm seeing Dr Lim Sor San at Time Enterprise TCM located in Aperia. Weird name for a TCM right? I'm not sure if it's the effect of her meds or not since I have no comparison. I did have a lot of blood clots coming out on day 1 and 2 of my menses after I stop norethisterone. One lady shared with me that her flow was heavier after taking norethisterone, so I was prepared for it. Anyway, my tcm specialises in confinement and seems to know IVF well. More importantly, I'm more comfortable with her and it's easy to get an appointment.

I will be doing my first fresh ivf on 29 May at NUH under Dr Stephen Chew. I have purchased some supplements from NUH for folic acid, MD3 tablets, CoQ10 for 30mg. The CoQ10 costs $110 which is very costly for me. Dr Chew want me to take the CoQ10 for 400mg daily and the one I purchased from NUH is only 30mg which mean I have to take at least 10 tablets daily. I have sourced few of them from 100mg to 150mg from pharmacies and need advice which brands are the right choice. Thank you.

Hi Elsieho, before and during my Ivf days, my hubby and I were taking 300mg daily. He bought Healthy Origins brand CoQ10, Kaneka Ubiquinol form, 300mg softgel, from iHerb. They also supply in 100mg, 200mg and 400mg softgel. We prefer Ubiquinol form but it's cheaper to buy the ubiquinone form.
After I bfp, I stopped taking at advice of doc while hubby switched to 100mg daily. After delivery, I intend to continue 100mg daily as it's antioxidant for general health.
