hi anyone with same situation changing going to new job but found out just pregnant. how/when to disclose to new company

As my fren had signed d letter of appointment before she knew she was pregnant, hence she informed d new co once she found out dat she was pregnant.

Her new co was quite okie about it n was even worried about her health since she had 2 take a chest x ray 4 d pre employment health check up.

However, I do understand dat not all employers in Sing r so understanding.

Happened to me before, I disclosed it only after 13 weeks.

Firstly, many will understand as its known that many mummies don't disclose their pregnancy(high risk of miscarriage during first tri). So to play safe as well.

Secondly you can't hide your bump anymore, for my case my bump pops out ard week 12 as i'm quite skinny so it's very hard to hide also.

When you disclose just say because you didn't know you're pregnant and your period is irregular. Nobody can fault you for that.

Also If i'm not wrong, you don't have to share with your boss regarding your pregnancy it's your choice, i don't think MOM has the law to disclose pregnancy.

Hi, my advice, you need to inform your HR or boss about this.

1. Your health and baby is important. If they know about this, they can avoid giving you carry heavy things or stress you up with workload.
2. They will also have the empathy with what you going through, like MS, tiredness etc. (otherwise they will see your performance drop as a reason you are lazy, bochiap kind etc..)
3. In any new company, to entitle for Maternity leave is when you already worked with the company more than 6months.
4. Each of your leave taken for check up etc, will consider unpaid.
5. They will also need to plan your task early to get your replacement during your maternity leave.

Like me, Even though I'm not new in the company, I told my boss when I yet to reach 3months of pregnancy.
I know it's the 'pantang' but atleast my boss will understand my health, MS, and avoid letting me carry heavy things.
My Boss also know that he not suppose to let anyone know before I finish the 'pantang'. But he started to plan my jobscope handover to different personnel, and inform the rest on my pregnancy and handover plan after I hit 5months.

Hope this helps...

Point 3 should be at least 3 continuous months before the birth of the child.
Point 4, for check up you can use MC don't have to take leave.

Applecindy, you can check all your maternity benefits here in MOM website :
http://www.mom.gov.sg/employment-practices/leave/maternity-leave/eligibility-and-entitlement

I think it is good to tell the company straight away, or tell your boss, maybe in a hinting way? like tell them you need go to hospital for check up. then they confirm will ask why bah.

im in the same dilemma too. i just got an offer and am thinking should i disclose to my future employer about it.

any advise is helpful!

Better to be honest upfront? Although I think the chance of losing the job is pretty high.... but what to do?
