Why buyer nowadays become increasing irresponsible?

I have been transacting in forums sales/purchases for years. I somehow notice that there is increasing numbers of buyers/sellers getting irresponsible and not having minimum politeness with transacting.

For buyer:

-Claim that they want to reserve but refuse to pay deposit and at the end of the day, never reply email and respond without any courtesy to drop an email to say they had change their mind.

-Some buyers will request for ridiculous and unreasonable price but in the end, once price agreed, they will drag your time, keep changing collection schedule and in the end, disappear without any notice.

Many others, just to voice out what we seller are facing.

And adding to it, they want to pay so little yet expect the item to be perfect, but no choice, in order to clear our item, we have to sell good condition stuff at ridiculous low price but in the end we still have to suffer their unreasonable request.

Hi Wendy,

I encountered some ridiculous buyers. One of them wanted to buy an item from me. She asked me to quote best price and I did. But at the same time, there are many buyers who are emailing me too. She told me she will cash and carry next week. However, I said I prefer to sell to the buyer who can confirm by the end of the day as I was receiving up to 15 emails on the items from interested mummies.

Guess what. She sent me an email questioning my morale as a seller. She emailed me saying that since I have quoted her a price, I MUST SELL TO HER. What the rubbish right? She did not even pay a deposit. She said she is confirmed buying and said can meet up at a particular day. And the next day, she told me she has gotten the item from someone else. Questioned my morale and in the end, she herself back out of the deal.

Any mummy who is keen to know this buyer, pls PM me and I will be glad to share her nick in this forum. I have even backup her emails just to make sure I do not deal with her again.

I have encountered a few more buyers and I have created my own blacklist and will never deal with these people again even if they are willing to pay deposit.

Hi Chelsa,

Exactly, I also have had the similar experience like what you mentioned! Refuse to make deposit and insisted we reserve item for them, yet in the end they simply disappear, no response and we had already rejected the other interested buyers.

I am wondering what are these people thinking? They selfishly want the seller to reserve yet when they changed their mind, they don't even make an effort to inform or notify, and poor seller still in the dark.

Sigh!

Wendy,

Thats why it will be better if the forum has a rating system like ebay!

If they enquire and then MIA, Im fine. Maybe my items are not what they are looking for. But they are some who will ask alot of questions, then ask me to reserve for them only to MIA. Still, Im ok with such buyers.

But the mummy whom I have describe in my post above really makes me angry. Who is she to question my morale as a seller and insist that I sell her the item just because I quote her a price.

Well, I have also met many nice and understanding mummies who are simply a joy to deal with. Sometimes its just our luck. ;)

Hi all,
i think a rating system would be good for both buyer and seller , not just seller . some peeps are just making life difficult for seller, do not make this piss u off , cheer up

Agreed mummies, a rating system will be a plus for both parties.

Actually I really don't mind if they change their mind, this is everyone's right, but at least have the courtesy to just drop an email to cancel the reservation or just notify, we might miss other opportunities to sell our items to other sincere buyers and they simply just happily disappear.

Sometime i am thinking, of course buyers want the best and lowest price when seeking for preloved items, however, they keep squeezing the price as though they want us to offer them FREE. In the end, they called off the deal or after the deal, full of complaints and made all kind of remarks asking for refund, exchange!

Just luck i bet!

Thanks Tammy, i will definitely not let these black sheep affect us :D.

Just venting here, no offence
